Iv noticed whenever Saf orders online she always has problems with delivery time, its like she lives in some obscure place! She never is able to get next day and standard shipping takes up to 4 weeks with her. Weird. Im in the UK in a small town by Liverpool and get my orders no issue or early! So id have thought with her being in America and most suppliers being in America from where she orders from that she would be quicker than me.
I think I figured out why she's so pleasing to listen to. She did theatre at Stanford University and in theatre you have to be very articulate, so that way of speaking might've stuck

In all honesty it probably cost them pennies on the dollar to manufacture the sunglasses. So if they did refund/replace the sunglasses, all the money would be in shipping. And sadly companies are too greedy to do the right thing.

My experience with fashion nova is that they don’t give you any money back for your purchase. If you return something you’ll get a gift card or store credit. So be careful when buying from them.

Agreed, it's such a backhanded compliment.
Some people are ashamed of their own body, even if they are what is traditionally considered pretty. Being confident isn't about how you look, it's about how you think. A model could have low self esteem, while a non model could have high self esteem.
i think “omg she’s so confident in her body” is more about us being insecure about ourselves & knowing we couldn’t go out wearing the kinda clothes she does bc of it.
and “brave” is about going out wearing often “controversial” clothing - i.e. clothing that she’d know would garner stares and comments.. again, something we couldn’t do from insecurity.

Because we live in a very unrealistic beauty standard society, that forced feed us that we are NOT all beautiful, that you should look like _this_ and like _that_ and do whatever is necessary to do that. So it's cool to see someone being careless about all of that, being confident and happy, for many of us it's an amazing example.
@@s-aga yeah but when you call someone 'brave' simply for wearing somewhat revealing clothing you have to be honest that it will often be taken as a backhanded compliment and can potentially be a little hurtful. If I went out in a skimpy dress and someone said 'wow, you're so brave!' I would definitely not be pleased.

Funny thing is, I was one of those girls, I was in the "normal" body weight range, yet my body build is rectangle shape, so I was always so uncomfortable in my own body and ashamed of it and wanted to be skinnier, especially in my waist (which I later learned was never going to happen no matter how much weight I lost). I slowly learned to accept myself and love my body, and I actually gained some weight since then and I could really care less now
So in conclusion, we shouldn't really blame the people who say things like the ones you quoted, but the media for teaching young kids that anything that isn't "normal" is ugly and not acceptable.

I’ve ordered from them a few times and never had an issue but it’s crazy how it took them a week to get her her items when fashion nova is L.A. based and she lives out there. I live in Palmdale (1 and a half hr away) and have always gotten my items within 3 days and never paid for overnight.

Yes mistakes happen but you have to make up for those mistakes, especially if you're a big business. My sister ordered from yesstyle and some of the creams were missing but when she complained to yesstyle, they sent her the cream with no shipping fee. Also customer relationship is one the most important aspect of a business. Good customer relationship helps with free promotion through word of mouth and thats very helpful to a business. Obviously fashionnova thinks it doesn't need to be good to customers because instagram bloggers have their back.
I only have 3 pair of jeans from fashion nova and I love them they’re my favorite jeans I own. I struggle to find jeans to fit my waist and butt/thighs without them being compressed or squeezing into them. If any of you are thinking of ordering anything, the jeans are great for curvier figures! (They also make your butt look good 👀)

I love how all of those clothes are made for the gram's. They're not intended to be worn in real life. Love it, just love where we are as a civilization.

Nearly all of my clothes actually come from fashion nova, granted I don’t buy trench coats, more sweaters and jeans, but you can definitely get lots of day to day clothes.
I would argue that this isn't a new phenomenon. Many costumes for film are made specifically for film and not for real life. This could also be true for most noble women's fashions in Europe before the 20th century. Women wore corsets, heavy un-walkable dresses, and even dresses that would have your boobs spill out if you moved wrong. While it is interesting that in 2020 the average consumer can buy clothes that are just for instagram, I feel like it is unfair to say that our society is taking a nose dive downward simply because we like aesthetically pleasing, yet impractical clothes.
And honestly these fast fashion companies are SO wasteful. The clothes aren't made to last, and they're probably going to not be warn more than a year. Joyce Bosmans Totally. I’d never buy from Fashion Nova, just based on how hard they push their ads. Twice, I’ve had mail-order clothing stolen from my front stoop and each time, the company I purchased from sent replacements or just gave me a merchandise credit if they couldn’t replace.
When I ordered, my package literally arrived almost a month later and they sent me the wrong jeans :(

Its about 2 years since this video was posted and it still gets me that they said she waited too long to report the sunglasses missing when she likely reported them missing like the day after she got the package.... Like they literally didn't give her enough time to report the item since they didn't send it when they were supposed to.

I do agree with you but you can kind of say that about most clothing companies? Like I have a very hourgalss shape and I don’t have any jeans that fit me correct and I can’t get a lot of bottoms in general to fit because most companies design their clothes around very slim models and their body shapes

They made a mistake and then they made her pay for something she didn't even get. I am glad that you like it and never had problems but the customer service seems to suck very hard based on Safiyas experience - and I hope nothing of your orders will ever be missing because I highly doubt they will treat you better.

safiya and her editors (as well as tyler) are so genuinely talented.
not only is saf herself personable and charming, but the production of these videos is so high quality.
the cuts are well-timed, the content is well-dispersed, and everything is thought out.
many youtubers have at least a few videos that are made solely to gain views or keep up with a schedule-and it’s obvious. but i’ve never seen a video of saf’s that felt half-assed.
i’ve been watching her since her start at buzzfeed and it’s wonderful to see her talents truly applied without a corporate overlord filtering her content.
i love saf and can’t wait to see what she has for her audience in the years to come.
