- So we traveled to East Asia to film a six-part series about beauty, style, and shopping and here is the 5th installment - in which we went to a "fake" market in Hong Kong and bought head to toe fake designer outfits! The Ladies' Market in Hong Kong is famous for having a lot of counterfeit and knockoff clothing and accessories, from fashion "brands" like Balenciaga, Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Off-White, Fendi, Supreme, Peppa Pig, and more! It was an ~interesting experience~, to say the least! What did you think of our fake market finds?

@@ingus6629 These people are *always* desperate to sell anything. So you can seriously just look at something, say you'd like to have it, then when they give a price just walk away. They'll start shouting lower and lower prices at you.. it happens in pretty much any market. It's actually hilarious when it happens though.
You can be sweet and polite to haggle, but you need to know the value of what you're buying for it to be successful.
If you don't, it's a matter of not looking like a tourist, but you most likely look like one (more so because you're taking pictures and filming)

We also went shopping in Hong Kong in 2019. My sister got a Supreme body bag (that was originally priced at HK$350) for HK$100. My grandma even tried haggling down to HK$50 which was kinda absurd-- but the trick is, if you don't want the price that they're offering you, walk away until they shout whatever price you want your item to be.

Hubby and I have been to the lady's market a couple of times, and loved to stroll up the middle to check out everything, taking photos of the stalls that we wanted to visit on the way back. That way we saw everything before we decided to haggle/buy.
If you want to see the best fake head to toe, and every brand of bag, you should visit Turkey, they have no copyright laws there , so the good quality fakes are sold in actual stores that sell as close to the real thing as possible. And then you have the markets that sell the cheaper fakes. You could very easily get a cheap head to toe outfit, or an expensive one that would stand all scrutiny.
A great video, that bought back some great memories. We were supposed to go back to the Far East for New Year celebration in Singapore, but of course everything got canceled. 💐💐💐💐💐💐

I realize many people watched this video ( or re-watch ) but little tip that may or may not helped if you ever going to market like this after Covid.
1. Ask for price at the few first stall you see. Bargain lowest as you want to go ( be heartless and stand your ground). The seller usually just leave you alone after a while trying. This helped you to know the price range for stuff you want.
2. If the seller start / seems angry/annoyed. Thats a good sign. You are onto something (if you westerners, they may say something rude, just ignore it and be on your way. I got called crazy and fat, so yea... Be prepared)
3. Last one may or may not helped. But bring small luggage bag with wheel will helped alot. Especially if you going to buy a lot of stuff.
Remember all of this only applied after this pandemic ends, so wear mask, shower and keep your distance.
Also, i'm here drinking infused crushed red ginger, it does helped with my body immune system.

I'm from Hong Kong born and raised. Even though I don't feel very affiliated to the city, it's nice to see international youtubers travelling here and actually get to experience what it's like to be in the streets and neighbourhoods. It's also crazy how Safiya went there before the 2019 protests and it's been 4 years since that. It really is hella hot and moist in summer over here like I don't even wanna be outside during summer holidays. I'd say if you're travelling to Hong Kong definitely come here during winter. It's literally 11 Dec and I'm still wearing t-shirts and shorts bruh

@@welcometojerry Yes per product it's a lot cheaper than you'd think. They tell you how there's labor costs, materials, etc to justify it, but it's actually not as expensive as they make it out to be. That's so they can make huge profits and live in luxury while we're paying like 10x more than necessary.

I wrap my hair for modesty in a wide variety of styles, and the one in this picture is one of the more hijab-esque methods (but I believe wearing a similar wrap for modest-but-not-religious reasons, it can't actually be called a hijab? I am under the impression that I can't call it that unless I'm Muslim).

Joud Firas Salam! It's odd for me because I live in a very small, conservative, V E R Y C A U C A S I A N town, so I've only run into a woman out and about in her hijab in my town *once*. I've lived here a year and a half.
So it's nice to talk to people who say "nice scarf" instead of "why are you wearing that".
