We traveled to Miami, Dallas, and Portland and teamed up with locals who helped us craft our head-to-toe looks! Which one was your favorite?

Buzzfeed has plenty originality. You can hate it, but you can't lie about it. Buzzfeed isn't a person so they're as original and entertaining as the people who make up the company and they have plenty of original, fun talented people who still work for them.

I'm a Texas native and I'm so glad that Dallas was represented pretty well here. Especially when she said that Cowboys aren't a big thing here. Just getting tired of everyone thinking that Texas is super southern and country. It really isn't.
🙄 yes it is, obviously a big city has different kind of people but Texas is very country (thank God) cowboys boots, country music, cattle etc. Go out of the city and you will definitely see it!!

The cowboy culture is a big part of Texas, but we aren’t hill billy country. Like I get what you’re saying, not everyone likes cowboys, country music, cowboy boots, and riding horses around 😂.

Yeah polar bears can grow up to about 8 ft tall and weigh almost 2 thousand pounds
Best thing you can do really for any of em is to make lots of noise as you’re hikin so they don’t approach you to begin with. They’ll try to avoid you whenever possible, even a mama will just get up and take her cubs with her. She’s mainly defensive when she feels like you’ve walked up on her. Make noise, she hears something that sounds big coming, she’d rather leave than confront.

For everyone who is complaining about Saf going to Dallas instead of Houston: She wasn't going for a 'Texas inspired look,' she was going for a 'Dallas inspired look.' We get it that the cities are very different, but she wanted a look that reflected Dallas itself, not the entirety of the state.
Rachel Larson Houston also doesn’t encompass the whole state. But Houston is more diverse and better than Dallas (speaking as someone from Houston)

I feel like that’s Texas southern accent. I’ve lived in central Texas for most of life, and I’ve never heard anyone go “full southern” without it being a joke. She could also do what I do when meeting people from out of state and lay it on a little thicker. I also have a drawl when I’m angry about something. 😂

As a Texas resident for my whole life, I can confirm the outfit is very “Texan”, shorter boots and natural make-up would be closer to the look you are going for because you’d sweat all the make-up off. Love your content :)

Because that's literally the type of people that live in Highland Park. Highland Park is fucking awful and is known as the snotty soccer mom fashion area of Dallas. They should have taken her to Deep Elm, they have amazing little dark urban shops there. She would have fallen in love with everything. The Dallas Blogger made me so mad.

Well, I think Americans tend to call anything second-hand "thrifted".. I've definitely seen these types of vintage stores in larger UK cities (Bristol, Manchester off the top of my head, ofc London too). Their equivalent of charity shops would be Goodwill and the Salvation Army - though ofc they probably are much bigger!
@@missvioletnightchild2515 yep we have a wide variety of second hand stores, which is where I get the vast majority of my clothes, jewelry, household stuff, ok most of my everything lol. I went here when I visited Portland. A lot of the stuff was second hand but with Beverly Hills prices. Most of the t-shirts I found were at least $15, ranging up to $100!!! I did also find more reasonably priced thrift stores and consignment shops.
Honestly, your experience is far more accurate to mine shopping at secondhand shops in the USA. There’s like a difference between “thrift stores” that usually curate what they’ll take from people and has slightly higher prices and certain brands, and something thats probably more similar to a charity shop, like Goodwill, which takes pretty much anything you throw their way. The only things I’ll get at the nice thrift stores are jeans bc they look nicer than Goodwill jeans 😂

You should do "wearing clothes out of my comfort zone for a week" such as wearing short shorts if you're uncomfortable showing thigh, or exposing belly button for a week if that's something you're uncomfortable with. Or even like, wearing your hair up for a week. Just something to help you expand your clothing comfort zone. It'd be cool to watch you grow and expand your horizons.

You should definitely make this a series! Boston, New York, and New Orleans will definitely give some cool styles.
In fact, you should maybe do this historically like your 60's and 70's inspired looks, or maybe do them internationally - for example, the style in western Europe really differs from America, while in Russia girls may spend up to 40,000 roubles on a fur coat.

As a portlandian living abroad, this is like comfort food. Tryon creek is an awesome place to go hiking as well in the middle of the city, just on the other side of the river, a bit less manicured and more old growth forest. And just down from red light is an amazing place called waffle window, they have fun gourmet waffles that they sell from a window, chicken and waffles or the basil and brie, totally recommend.
