I think the problem the app has is not asking for your inside leg, which is a pretty important measurement when you're buying trousers (like more important than your height)

I know this is old, but they shouldn’t have to ask you for two of you’re favorite pairs of jeans and sizes. The pants should do all of the work. I think asking for that info is kinda like when you go to get you’re foundation matched with the little machine as the person at the specific makeup counter you’re at (ever so nonchalantly) asks what are you’re shades in two foundations you currently use and like. That has happened to me 1 out of the 3 times I got my foundation matched and I didn’t end up liking that shade.. Feel like that was kind of gimmicky. I can go online and pick out random size 1 jeans from 3 different stores and probably have similar results. Kinda sucks bc it would make Jean shopping a hell of a lot more easy.

I thought it was weird that they didn’t measure her thighs and calves too because I have the issue of it fitting in my thighs but not my waste or the other way around. 🤷♀️ (rewatched after watching her new video on custom clothes)
I know this is old, but the reason we ask what shades you use is because we need to know what you’re looking for. Many people don’t want to accept they’re cool toned or that their skin is darker/lighter then they think it is. What you gravitate towards tells us a lot about you.
i think its just used so that they know wether or not you like a tigher fit or a looser fit jean, so if you were an inbetween size theyd size you down or up

This app may be more helpful to someone with a more difficult body. Like someone with large hips and a small waste, or large thighs. Also I think they should send you like 5 pairs to try on, you keep the one's you like send the rest back, with an option to have 5 more sent, and of course you pay for what you keep. Like a style box, but specifically for jeans.
That's what I imagined it at first but when you look at it it doesn't even measure your thighs, all it measures is around your hips and assumes you have small legs or legs that measure the same as the size you choose.

I don't get why they ask for your height instead of simply asking for the lenght of your legs which would be much more accurate... this app really needs some tweaking

You are so right. Getting the inseam would have been better. I am 6 ft and my brother is 6 ft 5 but our hips hit about the same spot if we stand side by side. Some people have long legs or a long torso.
because those jeans are mass produced based on petite and average height lenghts and not on individual height measures. so the app recommends the closest jeans length. its not a custom made fit. its more like it finds the closest fit
I think they ask for height because that's a measurement people know more than their leg length. The app is all about easily finding jeans, and some people might find measuring their leg length too much of a hassle
I mean, maybe I'm the weird one here, but I would personally find ordering a special pair of electro-leggings, downloading a special app, waiting for the electro-leggings to arrive in the mail, and then jumping through the hoops to power up and use the electro-leggings to be far more of a hassle than just casually slapping a tape measure on my leg in a second.
The smart leggings can't give perfect measurements if they don't measure the thighs. Everyone's bodies are made completely different and have different thigh to waist and hip ratios. Lol

Mike Bubble it kind of seems like it's just overpricing measurements. All one has to do is buy a $1 measuring tape and check size charts from different bands. I'm sure this app is expensive to use too.
That's what I was thinking too! I've apparently got too much hips for my legs, according to most jeans brands. So how is this app supposed to give PERFECT jeans if it doesn't take that into account

Also around the calves, my jeans are always tight around the calfs they fit alright around the thighs and then they are loose around the hips. I also don't understand how much of a play the "smart leggins" are doing when she provided her size in two different brands.

sarummi glad someone said it. That was the first thing I thought. They shouldn't be asking your size. The whole point of measuring was they should find jeans according to the measurements.
The measurements are probably close enough. It is just that they probably only use your waist measurement and height/inseam to find your "perfect" size. Im guessing thats really the only data available for these commercial jeans anyway.

I really bet this would be a much different experience for someone with a less "average" body type. Like I'm 5'0" and 200lbs. so I have a harder time finding jeans that fit plus size properly. For me there's a whole laundry list of things that could go wrong with my jeans size. So I doubt I would have AS MANY "perfect" matches, y'know?

MajoretteKay in the beginning you should fill in the length of your legs, the length of part of you legs above your knee and the length of the part between your knee and ankle
That makes more sense. I still feel they should try to sell on the shorts idea as well. Maybe add different sensors that measure high, mid, and low cuts as well for perfect fits for different styles. I'm sure it's fairly new and has already storyboarded these ideas though.

Abbigail Smith that's what I was thinking too. You're telling it your size already it's just basically searching for your size for you. Also if it was going to find your perfect fit I feel like there should be more measuring bands in more areas
I can imagine this app being more helpful to women with weird body shapes (like very big butts) who have a really hard time finding jeans that fit. Safiya has a very normal, nearly idealised, body shape so I'm not surprised she gets so many matches since companies standard jeans would fit her.

Abbigail Smith I'm pretty sure the leggings send an electrical pulse through the thread and just measure how long it takes to return and extrapolate size from that. It's not a total scam, but it's only taking high, mid, and low rise measurements based on the stitching positions, not really thigh or butt. Plus, electrical thread isn't the most reliable conductor so I can't imagine the measurements are super accurate, on top of that, like the app was complaining in the beginning, if a thread broke it would completely destroy the products ability to measure anything without the closed circuit. Honestly, in a nerdy way, they're pretty cool, in a super accurate spend your money on it kind of way, yeah they're really just a gimmick
