Wish is a bit of a suspicious website to begin with but last time I ordered stuff from Wish I was surprised by how much I liked it - but when I heard they started offering items for free I wanted to see what they were like.

A ton of stuff on Wish was $1 with $1 shipping. Now they're "Free" with $2 shipping. It's just a really smart way to make things look cheaper!
I think that the click bait crap shouldn't be allowed! You'll see an eyeshadow that's $2 but then it's actually $10 and a completely different one is $2. I'm hoping they fix that cause it's super annoying.
Also note that Wish is like eBay. Wish isn't being dishonest, the sellers are. Every item is a different seller. Some sellers are great, some suck. Their return and refund system is fantastic though. Wish itself is a great company and really make sure you won't get scammed. Sorry for the novel, I'm just a hardcore Wish user 😂
I was skeptical towards wish, my friend actually has ordered items from their website and casually for me would browse through, until I said you know what I'll give them a try and see what the big fuss is all about, currently waiting for my stuff to get here. 😂
Kayla Watkins Wish is a site linked to Romwe, Zaful, Shien, Sammy Dress etc. There are no independent sellers, only companies. That's why some of the clothes seem awful and small because they are made in China and they are more likely from sites that basically scam you.
Kayla Watkins AliExpress' sellers tend to be a lot more straightforward w their pricing and shipping costs (usually free shipping with items that are usually as cheap as Wish's). I recommend anyone to check them out if you're willing to wait a bit for your items to arrive :3

A friend of mine who shops on wish explained the free offers to me. I guess if you read the fine print it says a specific number of items they offer for free. You have to look to see how many people have gotten it. If that number exceeds the free offer, it's no longer free.

I'm sure someone else has pointed this out by now, but it's not uncommon for shady sellers to take old listings with mostly positive reviews and just change the product being sold, so the new product looks highly vetted. It happens on Amazon sometimes too.

The free products are absolutely fake. They just take the cost of the product and paste it on the shipping. Once I tried to look for the products that Safiya brought, and they cost $3 with $1 shipping. The next day I looked at the same product and it was free with $4 shipping

The only thing I've ever gotten from Wish was a tube of lip gloss that I won in the daily raffle. All the colors were sparkly and I requested a light pink. A month went by and I got the lip gloss in the mail. It was seafoam green, and although it looked like a full tube when I took it out of the package, after setting it down the gloss settled and I realized the tube was only half full. I didn't complain to Wish because I didn't pay a cent for it, but it was so weird and hilarious to me (and also kinda gross, if you assume it came half full because maybe someone had already used it)

Maybe the first question you should ask is if you get something for free or at very little cost, what are the labour conditions that create this (the sweat shops and factories) and what are the workers that made these items being paid?
This sort of promotion, offering things for the price of shipping, is actually relatively common in other online industries. Book sellers on Amazon will, or at least used to, offer a book for 1 cent and the price of shipping. You could make your few bucks on shipping, but move through inventory faster, along with other benefits
