This week we tested our geography skills by playing the game Geoguessr, which basically plops you down somewhere on Google Earth and asks the question, “Where are you?” Will we be able to figure out where in the world we end up or will we embarrass ourselves along the way? For Tyler's round we honestly just completely relied on the chat lol - if you want to see less cheating, skip ahead to my round!

They were relatively terrible at paying attention, reading signs, maps and symbols correctly but (i don't know if because or despite of that) they're just so darn entertaining und charming : ))

When they were in Finland, they just passed a sign saying they were 30km from Jyväskylä and I died. watching these in retrospective is horrible. 😂

That University of West Virginia Logo sighting was incredible. I didn't even know what the heck Tyler was talking about for a minute straight before it dawned on me.

What was so impressive to me is that West Virginia as a state is super proud of WVU and rep it like a college town all across the state, so the logo Tyler spotted gave away the state, but I was truly shocked to find out it was actually Morgantown!

You'll be surprised to know that a fair chunk of canadians will fly american flags. Either as american immigrants or because they support a sports team or family members that come from there. As well as racists actually will fly the flag as well(with a confederate flag)...

The Indian place that you were looking at is Nrityagram, which translates to Dance Village (Nritya-dance, gram-village).. It has residential programs for learning Indian classical dance forms.. Even though the address says Bangalore, it is in the outskirts so a lot of people don't even know about its existence! The place is beautiful and so so serene.. I went there back in the 90s for a picnic :D

It's so much better now that's they're actually using the chat instead of someone else just reading one comment every 20 minutes to them.
imo, they lean so much into the chat that they don't try hard to find clues on the actual game which is how it should be
@@bellemartin3105 They disclaim this at the beginning though, literally saying they'll cheat. I play Geoguessr myself so I get where you're coming from, but this is a video solely for entertainment and they're having fun with the chat. It's really not that bad.
I think they were a bit scared of the chat and didn't want to read a bunch of mean comments that would throw them off during their first streams. People can be assholes, I probably would have had someone look through the chat for me too.

I don't expect you to know, but as a Scandinavian it is always painful when people don't know the difference between Scandinavia and the Nordics (though to be fair not even everyone here knows either)😅 But to clarify:
Scandinavia: Denmark, Sweden and Norway (the 3 kingdoms)
The Nordic Countries: Scandinavia + Iceland and Finland (including islands like Greenland, Faroe Islands and Åland)
but also islandic is a scandi/north germanic language, closely related to danish, swedish and norwegian while finnish is an uralic language, related to estonian and hungarian.
Also, Finnish is in a completely different language family than the Scandinavian languages. Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Icelandic, Faroese - I guess someone who has no clue could *potentially* mix them up. Finnish is way different lmao.

ok i figured out what i was talking about -- apparently in the first quarto (aka bad quarto), the quote is "To be, or not to be, Ay there's the point" - but its not like that in all of the other legit versions of the script. so thats like the "alt" version & thats where i got that lol

I’ve noticed these past few months that Safiya still makes videos like she’s at buzzfeed. I’ve noticed it in other KRplusrs who’ve left buzzfeed too. It must be exhausting planning out every little post, having to do a ton of research for every video, and making super high quality videos like her and Ty do. I feel bad that they feel like they have to explain themselves on why they look tired and what color eye shadow they are wearing. Ty even said they had a TikTok scheduled to come out. That must be so tedious. I wish they could just relax and not feel like they need to do all of that.I would watch anything they posted. I literally watched Jenna marbles take a nap. It doesn’t need to be that serious all of the time.
Having a schedule keeps everything organized and flowing though and if you don't make quality content less people will watch especially if the quality goes down. And the makeup was a teaser to promote the tiktok. I do kinda agree that they do a lot of research which I appreciate but not everyone wants.
@@user-hp7gc2oy7d that's just so obviously not true though. having a strict schedule that they are trying to adhere to and putting out exclusively really well manicured videos obviously hasn't worked for them. i love saf's channel but she hasn't posted consistently in basically years and recycles a lot of ideas with mixed results to say the least. if what you were saying were true, we wouldn't see that. i think they would really benefit from relaxing a bit, as we see in these live streams which are basically just for fun and have already been more consistent than the regular videos.
@@rboyle6706 "hasn't posted consistently" meaning they weren't following the schedule which Is why it didn't work.
I mean they keep underestimating the scale of what they need to do to accomplish what they want to produce, edits may fall through, they may need longer times to get the coverage that they need, various other factors that kind of surpass the schedule
@@ricktastica they create the schedule though its not like she's still on buzzfeeds time if they need more time for that stuff they need to make more time for it. I love safs content as much as the next person. They could produce one high quality video a month and it would still be fine. A week or two to research a day or two to actually shoot and another week to edit. Lately I don't blame them at all for sporadic videos. With the pandemic and then moving across the country that is a lot to work around.

When you play in the US, you need to look at signs on the street for things like the Adopt-a-Road, or state highways. Then look for signs with phone numbers for area codes.

The Japanese city’s name is literally printed in kanji, which is based on Chinese writing language, and the name is written the same in mandarin. So any Japanese, Korean(learns Chinese characters in school), chinese(mandarin and Cantonese) speakers knows what city it is already.

Haven't watched the full stream, but to clearify: Scandinavia = Denmark, Norway, Sweden. The Nordics = Scandinavia, Finland, Iceland. Also, I'm pretty sure Safiya's two A-s in her name is just because the english language does not use Å, or it's just the old spelling of Å - so it has nothing to do with Finland's multiple vouwels.
