      Hi Tom, I'm curious to know if you would ever recommend Moe Norman's famous swing & crispy contact? Would you ever consider making a video that breaks down his swing? Thanks, Shooter

      I've been using your drills lately in my practice and by far the best one that helped me was the tuck the shirt under the arm pit. These drills have been great for my irons, woods and hybrids however, when I took out driver I found it hard to not slice the ball and that consistency went down that I was experiencing with my irons. What are some of your videos that give a few key tweaks to the driver swing when compared to your iron drills?

      I love this tip and have incorporated the "feels" and technique into my swing. Feels pretty good....do I also lean body towards target, a bit? Standing with weight on front foot, not sure if I should have body forward lean and if the left shoulder dips a bit in takeaway.

      That is *OUTSTANDING,* Michael!! 💪💪 I'm very glad to know that my instruction is resonating with you. Excellent job incorporating it into your swing and putting it into play, and thanks so much for sharing your body-friendly improvement!!
      By the way, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that a significant percentage of my online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them.
      If you've not already done so, have you considered enrolling in the online school and taking your learning - and your game - to the next level? That's where - in addition to detailed lessons and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish - you'll find diagnostic tools for identifying/resolving swing and ball flight issues when they arise, plus advanced level instruction, and much more. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. At just $14.99/month or $149.99 per year the value in terms of what you get for that price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet.
      Thanks again for your message and support, and keep up the fantastic work!!

      I sincerely appreciate your kind words, Jerry, and I'm very glad to know that my lesson content and teaching style are resonating with you and providing clarity and simplicity in the muddied, overly complicated, oft-conflicting realm of golf instruction.
      With regard to watching different videos from different sources, please be careful. That is not a dig against any other teachers out there. It's simply best to commit to a system - whether it be this body-friendly, powerful, consistent, low-maintenance method or another - put your blinders on, and stick to it. Tom this is Awesome ! Setting up my winter Golf training Workouts Now. I’m definitely using these Drills to nail my contact point in front of the Ball ! This spring I started watching you on KRplus. I had some of my longest straightest Drives. I had to change me Driver adjustments and aiming point. This summer went from 100 to consistently shooting 90 or better and for the first time I had a round under 80 !!! Can’t wait until next Spring to LIGHT IT UP ! With my best Golf Ever ... Thank You David

    I’ve been a professional surfing coach for over 40 years ( was in the top 50 1978-80 ASP now WSL ) and I’ve found this fun relaxing golf coach that explains everything so carefully and funny at the same time! The similarities between the two sports are more closely related than most would think.

    Tom, have ben following your videos for a few months now and ball striking has improved. Unfortunately I played really bad on Monday in my league, shot a 96! Usually in mid 80s. Was really disgusted. Played again on Thursday and before i went i watched one of your videos for reinforcement . Focused most on not swaying and getting lead shoulder down to ball on backswing. Went to the course and shot my best score ever! A 74, 3 over par. Parred the first 12 holes! You are my hero! Stopped on the way home and got some KFC for dinner!

    Tom im a Member ive always been a descent golfer was on my high school team im 36 now and last summer i was consistently in the 70s low 80s depending on the course and conditions. My backswing and load was always descent i was in a trackman the other day and i noticed i have a stand up flip arms bent weird jump at impact. I never felt that but seeing it in film was an eye opener. The tip where u turn wrists down through and after impact has literally improved my ball striking tremendously. No more flip or shoulder stall or jump. Best tip i ever seen anywhere. Only suggestion is try to show it from the target line view facing you a front view doesnt show the left exit the club takes because of the roatation so ppl might misinterpreted when they see just the front view amd push their arms too far to right field or center when they actually exit left of the torso

      PS: I appreciate your suggestion. I do my best to provide different camera angles in my videos when convenient/possible. Regardless, since my swing is consistent from one video to the next, you can always find an episode that features your desired angle and witness the same moves.

      I sincerely appreciate your kind words, Larry, and I'm very glad to know that my instruction content and teaching style are resonating with you. I hope your son finds these drills to be helpful - thanks for passing them along!
      Now, with regard to your situation, while I have no idea as to the extent of your back issues, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that a significant percentage of my online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. It all begins with a proper setup which provides for a free-flowing motion. Upon that good foundation a repeatable swing which produces consistently crispy impact can be built.
      Have you looked into the comprehensive, sequential learning platform of the online school yet? That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. At just $14.99/month or $149.99 per year the value in terms of what you get for that price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet.
      And if you'd like to first "dip a toe in the water" prior to diving into the school, then here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ That is where you can learn some key aspects of the swing system I teach in a more structured manner.
      You don't need the flexibility of a Romanian gymnast - or even of this far less pliable golf instructor - to execute this swing, experience great ball striking, and reclaim - or even exceed - yardages from years past. I hope you'll give the school some thought.
      Thanks again for your message and support!

      Thanks - I'm glad to know that you are enjoying my lesson videos!
      In the swing system I teach we start with our weight forward (generally 55/45 for the short and mid irons, 60/40 for the longer clubs). We achieve this by addressing the ball "stacked", shoulders over hips over knees with our weight balanced 50/50. We then simply bump our hips 1" towards the target while keeping everything else in place. That presets a little more weight forward while retaining the stacked relationship. During the swing we gradually add more forward weight load into the transition (70/30), 80/20 halfway down, 90/10 impact, and 95/5 finish. The upper torso/head - and thus the swing center - remains in place during the increasing forward weight load in the downswing. There's no "weight shift"; instead, it's just a gradually increasing load onto the lead side. And the result is a centered, low-maintenance, body-friendly, consistent, and tremendously powerful swing.

    😊I enjoyed the simplicity of the video. Unfortunately, in cold weather in the NJ/NY region, extreme temperatures hot a d cold, require various clothing needs. This challenges my ability to remember the tips, getting tired (68 y/o male) by the 7th / 8th hole or frustrated by the external factors; wind, uneven ground, slopes, etc. I stopped scoring years ago and focused on each hole as a new adventure. I play the same course ( Skyway in Jersey City), which is only 9 holes (3 par: 5's, 4's, 3's), but the fescue and sloping fairway is very challenging.

      You may be interested to know that a significant percentage of my online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. It all begins with a proper setup which provides for a free-flowing motion. Upon that good foundation a repeatable swing which produces consistently crispy impact can be built.
      Have you looked into the comprehensive, sequential learning platform of the online school yet? That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step from setup to finish. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many seasoned, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and I'm happy to let their unsolicited testimonials tell the story: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. You don't need the flexibility of a Romanian gymnast - or even of this far less pliable golf instructor - to execute this swing, experience great ball striking, and reclaim - or even exceed - yardages from years past. I hope you'll give the school some thought.
      Stay warm up there!

      Hi Ian,
      I was using JumboMax Ultralite grips in extra-large for much of 2022 and the first part of 2023. I had wanted to give them a try for a few reasons, including the fact that DeChambeau uses them and we share similar swing philosophies. I personally love the feel as well as how they help to keep my hands quiet through the zone.
      Now, having said that, I recently purchased a new set of PXG's, and since they don't carry the Jumbo's in-house I went with their largest available grip, which is a midsize. I absolutely love the clubs, and I'm putting the factory grips through the playing test before deciding whether or not to have them regripped. There are no issues with the Jumbos and I still really like the way they feel; that's just where I'm at presently.
      The Jumbos are not necessarily for everyone - and my fingers are a bit longer than average - so I routinely tell folks to "try before you buy." However, having a properly sized grip that feels both comfortable and secure is critically important as it is our only connection to the object that is going to deliver us blissful joy or deep anguish, yet it is perhaps also the most overlooked equipment fitting component in golf.
      Tom

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  6 개월 전 +1

      It's important to know why the ball is behaving a particular way in order to reverse engineer the cause. The ball is simply responding to the flight plan assigned to it by the clubface at impact. Clubface relative to target line is the primary influencer of the ball's starting line and face relative to path determines direction and degree of curvature. Without actually seeing your swing it's very difficult to diagnose the cause of your pulls. However, they are likely the result of a poor impact condition, a path that is steep and across the ball, or both. Here are a couple of popular channel videos that address these issues:
      - krplus.net/bidio/dslqnYFmZpjee2U (Impact)
      - krplus.net/bidio/eZmQi5d9oae4k2U (Downswing Hip Action)

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  2 개월 전

      Uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies are on my to-do list for online school lesson content. Having said that, the keys to playing a shot when the ball is below your feet are in 1) adjusting your setup to properly orient yourself to the ball (since it will be closer to you, your upper body will be angled more towards the ground than on a standard shot), 2) balancing yourself as you may need to feel your weight more towards the heels of your feet depending on the severity of the slope, 3) taking an extra club or two than you normally would from the given distance, and 4) aligning yourself with the expectation that the ball will fade. Once you are oriented, balanced, and properly aligned, you are ready to execute the swing as taught. Bump your hips forward an inch as you typically would so your weight favors the front side 55-60%, and when you take it back make sure that your weight stays forward and your shoulders do not flatten out as they turn, as they will have a tendency to do so due to their preset steeper orientation. In fact, a good thought for this shot is to keep the chest pointing down as you turn, since mishits from this type of lie are oftentimes a result of the golfer coming out of his or her tilt in the backswing.
      Conversely, a ball above your feet will necessitate having your upper body oriented for a less steep shoulder turn that allows the club to work more around the body, weight perhaps favoring the balls of the feet depending on slope severity, and allowing for a drawing ball flight. You'll likely need to choke down on the club a bit, and for this reason plus the curvature you may also want to club up for this shot, bearing in mind that the ball may tend to roll out more upon landing due to the draw spin. Once again, after making these adjustments you'll want to execute the swing motions as taught - weight forward, tilt/turn/extend, hands in, keeping your swing center intact.
      The short answer with regard to uphill and downhill lies is to 1) Match your shoulders to the angle of the slope, 2) Widen your stance a bit for stability, 3) Understand that an uphill slope is going to add loft whereas a downhill slope will reduce loft and produce more runout, so adjust your club selection accordingly, 4) Make a practice swing next to the ball to determine your swing's low point on that particular slope, and then address the ball so that the low point is just ahead of it, and 5) Do your best to keep your center intact as you swing since any swaying will shift your low point and cause inconsistent results.
      Now that I've given you a rather extensive and free lesson, perhaps you will consider _REALLY REALLY_ helping your game (😎) by getting on the fast track towards properly learning this swing system in the comprehensive, sequential platform of my online school? This is where you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish, along with diagnostic and corrective tools for resolving common swing, contact, and ball flight issues, and much more. Hey Tom, I feel like I always struggle to find the correct distance away from the golf ball, I see all of these videos about different methods and I feel like none of them work for me

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  6 개월 전

      With regard to distance from the ball at setup, I would first suggest that the clubs be fitted so that they are the proper shaft length and lie angle for you. A well-fit iron should rest on the ground with the toe slightly up at address. In general, the arms should be allowed to hang naturally, and the proper setup posture should have them approximately underneath the chin - slightly more outward for the driver - with the butt of the club pointing to the top of your pants zipper from a down-the-line view. In other words, the longer the shaft of the club the further from the ball we will stand, but that should occur on its own by simply assuming the proper address position. From a face-on perspective, the hands should be even with the inside of the lead thigh. Looking down you should see the grip end of the club over the inner part of your lead ankle.
      With regard to watching different videos from different sources, please be careful in navigating the muddied, overly-complicated, oft-conflicting realm of golf instruction. It's best to commit to a system - whether it be this body-friendly, powerful, consistent, low-maintenance method or another - put your blinders on, and stick to it. And if it is the system I teach, then please strongly consider enrolling in the online school and taking your learning - and your game - to the next level. That's where - in addition to detailed lessons and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish - you'll find diagnostic tools for identifying/resolving swing and ball flight issues when they arise, plus advanced level courses, and much more. Hi Prixie,
      I do offer an online golf school. That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish. Additionally, you'll have access to all my short game content (putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play), advanced level material, diagnostic and corrective tools for resolving common swing, contact, and ball flight issues, and much more. Thousands of men and women from across the globe spanning all age ranges and talent levels are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and I'm happy to let their unsolicited testimonials tell the story: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews
      In my opinion golf is the greatest of games, and it can be enjoyed with family and friends for a lifetime. I hope you will give it a try!!

    I need to find a driving range with grass instead of the plastic mats.

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  5 개월 전

      That's certainly always preferred, Gary. But if you have no other option, then when hitting off mats - which tend to do a great job of masking poorly struck shots - here are some suggestions that can help you discern between crispy and soggy impact:
      1) Get yourself an old hand towel and fold it in half. Place it no more than 2 inches behind your ball, thereby requiring you to miss the towel and make ball first contact on your downswing. As you improve, move the towel closer to the ball. The small thickness of a one-half folded towel will not impede your backswing takeaway.
      2) If you can, put down a thick chalk line or some inexpensive spray foot powder on the mat about an inch in front of the ball. Try to hit the ball first and then the chalk or powder. The mark on the mat - or lack thereof - will give you instant visual feedback.
      3) A Divot Board can really step up the effectiveness and efficiency of your practice sessions, helping you to groove a crispy pure impact (with or without a ball) while also eliminating those "false positives" as it provides the exact type of impact feedback that hitting off of mats is incapable of delivering. Here's a video in which I demonstrated it: krplus.net/bidio/oLJ_nHxre5m4fWE If interested you can get your Divot Board here: www.divotboard.com?sca_ref=3794896.raX4rnwQz1 (use coupon code Toms10 at checkout for 10% OFF and FREE SHIPPING)

      Why can't you sign up, Sam? The school is available to anyone anywhere in the world provided they have a capable internet service. As for what the online school offers over and above this YT channel, there is no comparison. The videos, lessons, and drills on this free channel - while fully aligned with the swing method I teach - address a variety of topics, issues, feels, and/or common flaws/fixes from one episode to the next. They are certainly not intended to be taken as a comprehensive, sequential learning platform like the structured curriculum of my online school, which I strongly recommend to anyone who truly wishes to get on the proper path towards owning a body-friendly, powerful, low-maintenance swing that will provide them a lifetime of consistent ball striking bliss and true enjoyment of this great game. That's where - in addition to detailed lessons and drills that take you through the entire motion step-by-step from setup to finish - you'll find diagnostic tools for identifying and resolving swing and ball flight issues when they arise as well as all my short game instruction, plus advanced level courses. Thousands of folks across the globe - including many seasoned, low-handicap, competitive players - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and I'm happy to let their unsolicited testimonials tell the story: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. But I'd say that after I started playing decent doing this that I've fallen into trying to absolutely crush every single shot now instead of swinging under control.
      So I'm going to stick with it and re-focus on the basics of hitting in front of the ball with the abbreviated, arms straight follow through.

      @lukelacasse6412 - Congrats on firing the round of your life - that's outstanding!! 💪💪
      Hiccups, setbacks, perceived regression - it's all really quite normal. Exorcising those stubborn "ghosts of swings past" is the biggest challenge for most, and once we think we've finally conquered them we utter those fateful words, "now I've got it!", and that always seems to be their cue to come rushing back in to wreak havoc on us. But through properly dedicated time and repetition the battle will most certainly be won!
      By the way, it is important to understand that the videos, lessons, and drills on this free channel - while fully aligned with the swing method I teach - address a variety of topics, issues, feels, and/or common flaws/fixes from one episode to the next.
