      Even as a Dodgers fan, since I have friends down in San Diego who are Padres fans, I've gone to Petco Park since 2006 because of Chan Ho Park. I was there last season. I'm going there September 10 for Dodgers vs Padres. Hopefully I get to see Tatis play by then. It's gonna be a nice clash. Betts, Turner, Freeman, Smith, vs Tatis, Machado, Soto, Bell and for pitching, hopefully we get to see Urias, Gonsolin, Anderson, and Heaney vs Musgrove, Manaea, Darvish, and Snell. Gonna be epic.
      Petco Park, best stadium I've ever been to. I've been to Dodgers Stadium, Angels Stadium, Petco Park, Chase Field, and Coors Field. Petco Park is the best stadium. Next season, I plan to go to As(if they will exist by then), Oracle Park, and T-Mobile Park(Seattle). But I doubt any of them are better than Petco Park.

I have witnessed first hand the hurt and pain of 84" and 98", plus all of bad teams since 1969. I know the Padres have to play the games; but this trade gives them a very good chance to win it all! Right on! Padres have always been my second favorite team after our boys in blue. I wasn’t going to underestimate them before this trade-they’ve been doing well, even without Fernando.
      I really love Soto’s approach to batting. Literally, his approach, as in how he struts up, grabs his crotch, digs in, wiggles, then stares at the batter, waiting for the pitch. Some will say it’s arrogant, but I say he’s supremely self-confident.

    I’m saying it now the Diamondbacks will be the ones that sign Soto in 2024 and the Dodgers will sign Ohtani in 2023. As a Dodgers fan you can call me bias with Ohtani prediction but that seems pretty obvious considering the the Dodgers have 250 mill in annual payroll coming off the books by then and San Diego now officially being eliminated from getting him. He prefers so cal and winning so that gives the edge to the Dodgers over both the Yankees and Angels. Now as for Soto you can’t call me bias. The Diamondbacks are in the same position now as the Padres were a couple years before getting Machado. They have an unreal farm system that will only get better by 2024. They will have very little money committed beyond that because of all their prospects being dirt cheap. The state taxes are very low and Boras clients only look at the post-tax offers (why Boras asked the Dodgers to increase their 300 mill offer to Seager by 75 mill even though the Rangers only offered 325) . So teams from California and NY will be at a 50 mill disadvantage from the start. I’m guessing the Diamondbacks give him 16 years 550 million. For the Padres to match that offer right now they would have to give him 18 years 660 million. 2 years of arbitration will be 60 mill, 550 mill for the post arb contract and 50 million to offset the California tax rate

  • @johndurrer7869
    @johndurrer7869 년 전 +1

    As a Dodgers fan I don’t know how to feel about this. I’m relieved we didn’t give up May (the reason we didn’t get him) along with Lux, Cartaya, Miller and Outman. It’s best to have all these prospects and just sign Ohtani as a free agent next offseason rather than just have Soto and only Soto.That being said the Padres are gonna be just as good as us in 2023 and 2022 if they somehow get past Degrom and Scherzer on the road in the wild card series. But after that the Padres will be finished. Had we given up the 5 prospects I listed above for Soto and the Padres kept all their prospects they would’ve been the ones likely to get Ohtani as a free agent. That would’ve made them great for 6-8 years. and THAT would’ve been scary lol.

    just an incredible day...and an incredible "get". Just when you've nailed Preller to the cross, and thrown it on top of the fire heap, he'll pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat. I went to MLB Network and I heard former Rockie GM say in so many words "the bill is going to come due regarding salaries in a few yrs, with backloaded deals like Manny's and 'Nando's..and then they wont have the flexibility to enhance the rest of the roster".
    Well, #1..how does a FAILED GM know that will be the case with this team?...#2, Mr Seidler is the one that made his BILLIONS in financing, yea?...not Dan O'Dowd...#3...Juan Soto has NOT been extended by the Padres. And if and when he is extended, Im almost certain Peter Seidler will have figured out how to spread dollars around without blowing up the team and rebuilding. I dont think this season is "this team better win a WS, or we'll never position ourselves to win another one". That kind of thinking is totally asinine.
