Except most of the benefits aren’t for people that actually pay taxes. With the US “progressive” tax system a lot of people have been exempted of paying taxes. Yet the people that make more money pay more. So instead of being a steady 15-20% rate for everyone it’s more like 15% for low income 26% for mid range income and 37% for high income. If every citizen were to pay taxes and at a flat tax rate taxes would actually go down for everyone

If implemented as she is suggesting, our country would go bankrupt within the first year and our infrastructure would crumble. Our working taxpayers and business owners do not produce anywhere near the amount annually that it would take to do this and keep the country running. If attempted, within just one year, the government would run completely out of money. That would mean that all federal, state and city workers would stop getting a paycheck and soon, no one would show up to work. Truckers would stop delivering food and other supplies, the gas stations would run out of gas and no one would answer calls anywhere. No one would be on duty.

That means this: no police, no sanitation workers, no water services, no electricity or gas, no one answering 9-1-1 calls, the hospitals and schools would close, and the store shelves would be empty within a few days and soon it would be chaos and madness. I'm a very educated and well-traveled older person who has lived through many things and I am telling you her ideas are not doable and very dangerous to all but the very, very rich.
