Kristen's high pitched Disney voice is on point.
😂 And I love that her voice becomes normal Kristen after he tells her he can't wait for her transformation.
@@ashley_ashbee yep. It's like how young women try to present themselves a certain way for the first couple of months of a relationship so the guy will like them. When women are older we don't give a damn. Like us for who we are. Older women don't buy the fairy tale. 😄
And vibrato.
@@beatricet5682 that's because older women are bitter that life ain't work out

Although, to cultivate that peace takes trial and error.
Her face when he says “I can hardly wait until your transformation” cracked me up 😂
Best part of the skit for me. I love how she remained smiling with her eye brows raised for like five seconds, like um... excuse me?
Same. The way she raised her eyebrows just killed me.
I thought the whole skit was perfect. But I really liked the emphasis on “ass”…When beast first says, “I like a big ass” it’s a hopeful confession finally released.
I initially thought he was talking about her transforming into a beast like himself. "You know. Like in Shrek."
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

The moment when a parody has a better everything than a big-budget live-action remake.
That is exactly what I thought!

So true just coz someone didn't want to wear a corset😂
shit, you're right, lol
People say Gerard Butler is a bad actor, and then they found he was the beast in this sketch. Friggin' nailed it.
Bad actor? Really? I loved the guy in Rock 'n Rolla. Shitty movies like White house down or some shit like that yes. But BAd?
I never liked Timberlake till I saw his skits
@d R Oh, come on. There have been more good ones. Machine Gun Preacher, 300, Den of Thieves, How to Train Your Dragon. . .
I thought he acted well as the phantom in phantom of the opera (2004) but his singing voice for that specific role was not good enough at all, acting-wise for the role of phantom he nailed it
This is probably the only non shitty work he has every done.
The COSTUME DESIGN for a 5 min comedy sketch is unbelievably good. I hope Snl got their people a nomination for this that year.
5:13.
Here here!
that dress is a prop dress that has been used several times
🙄 yeah they must have went all out by borrowing some clothing and other prop items from the local high school
Way better than the 2017 remake
WTF, Kristen Wiig manages to be both good at singing and funny at the same time. She's so talented.
+Simon Brooke But without the BIG ASS :P
+Simon Brooke i love her dress, it real nice and i would dare say that it's better then the one from the Disney film.
She's the most annoying thing ever-

"Once in college I dated a menorah" has got to be one of my favorite lines
Gerard Butler was cracking up when Lumiere said that!
I don't get it
@@nobunnyspecial interesting. Guess I gotta look it up to see what went over my head.

@@nobunnyspecial, not a gay joke. Most people date outside of their "demographic" in college (e.g. a different, race, religion, etc).
Kristen Wiig’s ability to do her lines without constantly talking to the camera is what always set her apart more than anyone else on SNL
They are told to read the cue cards. The lines often change at the very last minute.
She's very clearly and consistently looking at the cue cards. Look at her eyes when she's facing Gerald, you can see her eyes glance over at the cards every now and then to make sure her lines are still the same. She might memorize a bit better but she still uses the cards.

Next weekend (hopefully lol)
🤣🤣🤣
Are you sure he didn't mean "tail as old as time"...
Agreed !!! 😂😂😂
I'm all about the 3:45
2:18 Whispering that line was the best delivery possible. Gerard should do more comedy
I love how he repeats "A big ass" a second time, realizes he's in trouble and it's not going well... so he immediately starts the song again to try and get out of it.
This is literally the plot of Shrek.
Except Shrek thought Fionna was beautiful both before and after the transformation.
I literally thought the same thing
Something about the animation of Shrek made me nauseous. And the sequels were insufferable.
@@kendomyers The story line is for children. The sickly sweetness of it makes adults nauseous. Welcome to parenthood.
@@davidson46100
Normally I would be insulted by the phrase "welcome to 'xyz'" since only insufferable assholes use that phrase.
However, our first child, an unexpected pandemikid, is due this month so I will say "thank you." I really am entering parenthood for the first time.
...
I was 16 when Shrek came out. With its all-star cast and pop music soundtrack I know it wasnt just meant for babies.
My parents, two huge theater/literature/cinema nerds, never showed me garbage (like most of Disney's catalogue).
I too will not show my child Shrek but will instead show them well made entertainment.
Humour aside, they have surprisingly good singing voices! XD
Gerard Butler was The Phantom of The Opera, look it up!
Oriol Bertran Mazon Neato! :D
Gerard Butler did sing almost all the songs in Phantom of the Opera, but emmy Rossum didn't. It was a professional singer that sang for her. She sang one song, partly.
*****
Emmy Rossum sung her own songs, only the role of La Carlotta wasn't sung by the actress.

she has sung only a few. But, in the Phantom of the Opera she doesn't sing, it is a beautiful voice of a professional singer.
When Kristin Wig started sing 😂😂😂💀💀💀. She is one of the greatest cast members ever

I will no longer settle. From now on, instead of settling for whatever women are into me, I am going to go after the women with a bigger ass that I am really attracted to.
It's hilarious, the way she imitates the typical Disney singing voice and turns it into a caricature at the same time
It was so good
This skit has some of the best acting of any snl skit ever. Everyone hit their lines perfectly. This gets better each time I watch it

Why is the SNL version of the gold dress much better than the live action movie?
I came here to ask exactly this. You know it's bad when SNL's dress is better.

Because Emma was the one who ruined it with her demands to be comfortable
