when doug said all those mean things to izzie and took his angry and frustration on her… god. casey had every right to be pissed. he clearly was unable to see how her life drastically changed with ucla in the way. and when he echoed back all of izzie’s self doubts, it was the breaking point for her. she couldn’t handle being the reason that someone she loves falls apart.
Exactly, I understand that Doug cared so much of Casey but telling Izzie all those things is kinda unnecessary. Though, it is an important confrontation cuz it is the turning point of their relationship, they opened up about their feelings and reconcile at the end. It is also their wake up call cuz Izzie is acting weird in the season 4.
But the worst part two of thier conflicts were totally Casey's fault. Izzie had every right to be upset.

The worst part is what you underlined which is the fact that it was an echo of doubts/fears she already had and what’s tragic is in some real life scenarios someone who doesn’t have a lot of support systems and has to give one up based on an adult’s views, especially one she originally had no reason to doubt the validity of, could have led to a much more tragic conclusion that a breakup. I think this show tackles these things with sensitivity and grace, showing flaws in adults and kids alike, but yeah it really hurts me that adults in the real world talk down to real teens like Izzie who are unlucky in life and just want support its just too bad

The way I’ve loved Elsa from the beginning like sure she has her fails but she’s a great mother to both Cas and Sam and when Izzie came into Cas’ life she didn’t skip a beat immediately peeped game and was nothing short of supportive she’s honestly one of my favorite characters and season 4 just made me love her more
agreed! elsa messed up in a lot of ways (admittedly, it took me a while to like her again) but there was one thing that she was consistant with and that was trying to be a good mother to not just her own children but ones around her like izzie I really admired their dynamic

It normalized being an LGBT person to the vast swath majority. And minds changed from hate to coexistence.

A lot of the times when people are mean they are just trying to hide their true feelings because they don't understand them or don't want to. It's quite a classic character transition, really. I even had something similar to this happen to me. Thought she hated me and looked down on me but she was just the popular girl and was trying to live up to every expectation of that (mostly being straight). Liking me didn't fit in with that, so she expressed it in some pretty odd and sometimes negative ways.

Ok just finished seasons 2-4. Thank you for the edit. I’m genuinely surprised that you included all of their scenes for their storyline (some ppl only include their fav scenes). The show ended quietly, a bit predictable at times, but I’m really glad I finished the show. And so happy these two had a happier ending than most LGBTQ+ characters.

Enemies to lovers or friends to lovers were my favorite trope so I already ship them the first time I saw them together. So imagine how ecstatic I was when they develop feelings for each other! Casey's relationship with Evan was less complicated and almost perfect but it didn't have the spark that these two girls have. And Evan was a good character too so I feel a bit bad for him. On the other side, Casey's relationship with Izzie was problematic, complicated and felt like a roller coaster ride but right from the moment they first kissed, you can clearly feel the chemistry between them more and see that they are meant to be together. They complement each other so well and their personalities match with each so much. I love it.
Is kind of overwhelming how good this is... never watched the show but definitely love this 2. Felt so real at each step and their chemistry were so great.

honestly, rewatching this after almost 2 years made me realize that due to her problematic life, izzie was too a problematic person. And while she was dealing with so much traumas as shame, rejection and etc she really brought a LOT of problems and anxiety to casey's life.
Their relationship was never even close to being perfect, it was broken and toxic a lot of times. Izzie fucked it up a lot but that's just realistic, she isn't a villain for that but she has responsabilities and has to own up to her mistakes, just like she does when she tries to apologize.
But the thing is, no one choose to who are we going to fall for, casey could've been with evan, whose relationship was "perfect" and healthy but the fact that they chose to create a complex character like izzie, who commits a lot of mistakes but is still worth of sympathy, and gets a happy wlw ending, with is rare on tv shows, was amazing.
This reminded me of my past, it was a 5 year relationship.I still can't forget the events of 5 years.I wish I could go back to that time but I know I can’t do it.Since our country still does not approve of same-sex marriage,I'm glad to see her with her new bf.I can't get rid of this but I can be happy that she is happy to get rid of this.But I miss her.💔
