Welcome back, ScreenRanters! Soon, we’ll have a brand spanking new addition into the MCU with Black Widow. It’ll also be the first film in Phase 4. With that in mind, we’ve compiled a list of all of the most anticipated new characters to be brought into Marvel’s film franchise and the Disney Plus shows. We’ll let you know the facts and the character’s brief comic history. On top of this, we’ll also add in some of the rumours and speculation for these films with additions that haven’t been officially confirmed just yet.
Now, for the spoiler paragraph. If you want to be surprised, we suggest you watch the video immediately. Firstly, we’ll go over the possible introduction of Doctor Doom. Since we mentioned the Doom rumour, we’ll also go over the Fantastic Four speculation as well. There’s Ms. Marvel that’s due to get her own series and also appear in an upcoming video game. Speaking of, we’ll also talk about Miles Morales perhaps swinging into the MCU. We go over a load of new characters for the Eternal film. Including who Angelina Jolie is playing. We’ll chat about how the King of Atlantis, Namor, might make his debut. Christian Bale is due to appear in the new Thor film. So, we discuss the heavily linked role he might have. There’s also a chance the X-Men might arrive. So, for all this and many of the confirmed characters, check out the video today!

I don't want Doom to just be a one-dimensional villain, instead write him as someone like magneto. Someone that has his goal unaligned with the hero but still makes people say "he is right though".

Let him just me a megalomaniac and dictator, let him be open about his hunger for power and fame.
But also, make him incredibly competent, both as a leader (his nation is oppressed, but prospers) and as a powerful being - make him a villain that you sometimes have to ask for help, as much as you may hate it. Make him the last person heroes go to, because they don't want to give him the satisfaction of needing him, and make him save the day in a big way (while he profits massively from the good publicity and possibly from taking over the world after saving it).
Get a brilliant actor to play Doom. Make him complex, interesting, important and both lovable and hatable.
Doom is the first Thanos. Doom was the number 1 villain of marvel before thanos took off in popularity. Thanos was created in the 70s he was originally a Iron-Man villain. Thanos enemies was Adam Warlock and the Original Captain marvel. Thanos took off in the 90s with the Infinity Gauntlet story line. DooM original mission in life was to gain enough power to invade hell and defeat Mephisto so he could rescue his mothers soul who was a witch. Thats why Doom is always seeking objects of cosmic power. Before the Retcon of course.

I want Doom to fill a Magneto like role, you know...most of the time he is a bad guy and a villian to the F4 and Wakanda, but when the heavy crap goes down (like Galatcus) he fights for Earth.

I have one condition. Don’t change him!!!! Keep him as the dictator scientist magician the way he was created. Not the friend of the fantastic 4. Not some jealous competing scientist. They screwed that up already three times. And stop finding a reason to show the actors face every chance they get. Keep the mask on. It adds to the character.

I agree. But I don't want him to be a one and done villain, he is far too important and good for that.
Also, his motives shouldn't be the cartoony "I am evil cuz I am EVILZ!" either. His story in the comics was faaar more interesting. From his mother being kidnapped and held hostage in another demonic dimension, and him having to learn magic and also science in the process to help with that, to seeing the future, and the only futures he could see where humanity had a chance, was when he was in charge. Things like that, added with just the powerful presence he should be portrayed to have in film, that could make an awesome movie.

Warlock was always one of my favorite characters. Not having him in IW and Endgame is the reason I didn't love it as much as others. Wildly underrated and super powerful.. I'm so psyched he's finally gonna make an appearance!

Little disappointed that Squirrel Girl isn’t being introduced. She’s set up in the comics as strong as Thanos and would be really cool to see. And since GotG made it big as a strange band, SG would also be big.

Doom in the comics is actually a lot more nuanced. There was a time where his mother was stuck in hell and he routinely tried to fistfight the devil to save her. There's some good material to work with.
I'd like to see Bale as Gorr the God Butcher...That'll be super interesting!

I suspected that Bale would be Green Goblin, yet Bale as Gorr sounds cooler anyways, so i'd be fine with that, and i would actually like that idea way more, cause the M.C.U doesn't seem to have the Osborns in it, which is understandable, and i'd like to see Doc Ock anyways form the Sinister Six, and have him be played by the masterful actor himself, Mark Hamill.

Dr. Doom should be presented as an antihero, not an outright villain.
He can covertly sponsor the MCU's version of the Masters of Evil, with Zemo as his patsy, paving the way for a live action Under Siege arc, all as a diversion for Emperor Doom.
Doc as the Infamous Iron Man? Go for it!
Moon Knight should also be presented. He's the closest Marvel has as a counterpart to Batman, with Iron Man KIA.
The Black Knight, hopefully, will look as his original ancestor did in the Atlas era comics; and the Ebony Blade is noted to absorb souls as well.

i personally absolutely loved infamous ironman, it would be great to see an arc where he goes from villain to hero over phase 4 however
Doom deserves to be in MCU as Doom. A complex character who's methods are impeccable and stops at nothing to achieve his goal
You forgot to mention Hercules,beta ray bill, silver surfer, galactus,super skrulls, squadron supreme, enchantress, Kang the conqueror,aim, modok, living tribunal, thunderbolts and more.

Yakub Pasha I’m aware, but he and Beta Ray Bill are two characters I really like so just having their likeness built into a statue on Grandmaster’s wall isn’t enough for me!! I’d like to see Herc and Ares have a sort of Thor/ Loki type relationship where Ares is bad but gets a chance to redeem himself and help Herc...and I’d love to see a Thor and Beta Ray team up movie in which Bill’s origin is explained in detail with some kind of flashback!!

I’m excited about the X-Men being in the hands of Marvel again. I just don’t want another Phoenix storyline.
At the end of the day, Dr Doom does whatever he deems as most beneficial to either himself or Latveria. He will align himself with whoever is necessary to achieve his goal. The ends always justify the means in Doom’s eyes. Sometimes this makes him the protagonist, sometimes he is the antagonist, and sometimes he is neutral.
: Dr. Doom doesn't need to be binarily either a hero or a villain. He is simply Dr. Doom, and he does what he sees fit when he sees fit. Could be quite a surprise.
Shang Chi and TaskMaster are my favorites! If all the Widow's attack him at once they will take him down.
The Nova they where showing wasn't even Richard Rider. Richard Rider has the yellow helmet, if it's Nova with a black helmet then it's Sam Alexander.

Charles Dance as Dr. Doom. I can’t see anyone who’s voice would perfectly match the gravitas that is Doom. Especially since you’re never gonna see his face and you’ll need a voice to portray all the emotions.

Yep, Netflix shows were absolutely brilliant, just finished Daredevil S3, and both Punisher seasons. It's all in the same continuity, I believe? It'd be awesome if they could introduce them somehow and keep the same cast.
Disney get those characters in November. So hopefully they’ll keep the same actors playing them. Love Punisher and Daredevil!
The Netflix shows ARE MCU though, all you would have to do is bring them into the movies. Or at least bring them back on Disney+ shows. No need to recast. The MCU is made up of the current movies, Agents of SHIELD, Agent Carter, Inhumans (unfortunately), Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist (somewhat unfortunately), The Defenders, The Punisher, Runaways, Cloak & Dagger, Helstrom (TBR), and the various Disney+ shows.
Don't forgot ghost rider. Cosmic rider is the one which is meant to be in the mcu and cosmic rider is Frank castle. They could easily pick keanu reeves who would play cosmic rider

I've been a fan of the Marvel Universe since I can remember, but I never got into the lore or back stories. I just collected comics, and cards. With that said, I barely know any of these characters even though I've probably glanced at them 100s of times. One of the only ones I vividly remember is Dr. Doom, but all I know is what he looks like. Thanks for an awesome video!

Doom is a character that can be all over the place, he can be good, he can be evil, most of the Tim he tries to destroy the people he hates but on other occasions he could team up with anyone, he should definitely get his own movie.

Making rogue a villain in Captain Marvel 2 would be a wonderful way to introduce the X-men, then she is the villain for the first X-men movie...the premise being, trying to save her from herself and whatever evil organization is giving her her orders!

Miles and Gama are great! Galactus deserves his own movie and I will be excited to see that.
But also people often forget about Franklin Richards who will rival Scarlet Witch and can wreak havoc. Plus his abilities tie in nicely with the concept of 'WandaVision'.
I could see Christian Haydensen being a great addition to the cast of the MCU! He’s a greater actor than I’ll ever be and I’ve been a fan since Episode 2. Those movies aren’t the greatest, but his abilities were there. I hope he gets a good role that isn’t villainous or asshole-ish...like his role in Awake, great movie!

@@Disbelief_ I hear ya, but how many Erernals fans do you know? They aren’t very popular either, but they’re getting a movie!! Although that’s kinda why they got a movie, or part of the reason anyway. Feige said one reason they decided to do Eternals was because they didn’t have a huge dedicated fan base, so they had the option to switch up a lot of characters and change their stories without a ton of backlash from longtime fans.
It’s not quite the same with BRB. He’s just a single guy and his identity is essential to his character. And though he’s not widely known, his fan base really really likes him the way he is and wouldn’t accept too many major changes.
But hey, stranger things have happened so I’m not giving up hope!! I definitely believe if they did a movie where it was half Bill on some current adventure(with Thor and Korg and Miek) and half flashbacks to tell his origin, if done right could be a hugely successful movie!!
Liam Neeson as Doom? He's 6'4" and a heckuvan avctor!
It would be a waste of a good actor to keep his face behind a mask during an entire movie. We would be left with only his voice (the dude inside the armor wouldn't even have to be him at all). Neeson is an expressionist, he needs more (and deserves more) than just his voice to show his full acting potencial.

Dr. Victor Von Doom's greatness transcends the definition of "hero" or "villain". He is not bound by petty and average concerns or morality and is sadly misunderstood by lesser beings.
I’m loving all these Doom comments, he truly is an amazing character and complex villain, I would also prefer if he wasn’t just a one off and definitely took more of a Loki, Magneto type role in the MCU. Since they’re going cosmic I highly doubt he’ll be the big bad of the next set of phases but he should definitely be like an “Avengers” level villain

That Dane Whitman hair @1:55 and how that looks like it could be Kit Harrington is the reason why Marvel's casting department is the greatest at playing a key role in bringing these characters to life! I'm curious as to what they will do with casting X-Men and Fantastic Four I know when they do the casting it's in good hands!

Taskmaster can maybe imitate the fighting skill, but I want to see him fight Wanda Maximoff, Captain Marvel, Thor, Doctor Strange etc.
I absolutely agree that Namor should make his first appearance in the next Black Panther movie. Imagine if the vibranium meteor that landed in Wakanda split up into multiple pieces before it hit the Earth. A huge piece hit Wakanda but what if another piece was what caused the sinking of Atlantis? The Atlanteans could be just as advanced as the Wakandans.
And in the post-credits scene I want it to be revealed that another piece of the meteor landed in Latveria, and that should be one of our first glimpses of Doctor Doom.

Mar-Vell = Captain Marvel, the Kree guy. He was the original alien with that title (Annette Benning’s character is a female version of him in the film).
Mar-vell was in a psyche-Magnetron explosion which gave Carol Danvers her powers and she became Ms Marvel.

She spent years building the Ms. Marvel name, creating her own legacy and owning it. Then they have her drop everything she built with that name so she can live in the shadow of a dead ex-boyfriend's legacy. Having self-made women characters supplanting their ex-boyfriend's legacy is Marvel's idea of pro-feminism.

I want them to reference Dr. Doom here and there throughout phase 4 and give him an epic introduction in phase 5. After that, becoming the ultimate villain in phase 6. Basically what they did with Thanos, but with Doom, or however they choose to do it, make it feel authentic/natural. Obviously, making his story meaningful and unique. Doom needs to be introduced as the one and only ultimate threat. I don't want Doom to be the immediate phase 4 villain because he's much more than another villain. He's a very complicated, intelligent, and mystical being with the will and motivation to succeed at all cost!
Galactus is going to be like the final phase and they gonna realize they can’t defeat him it’s going to take a army so every Marvel character will join forces and fight him X-Men Avengers Fantastic 4 everyone even the villains
I think we have ''The One'' who is the like the ultimate Marvel power, one step superior to the Galactus... But I think "The one" is not an evil one, so Marvel superheros should be fine.... also also, remember in fantastic four, we had Silver surfer who stopped Galactus? .. I think he and a few bunch from Eternals is enough to stop him....

@@bhagya1985 Jack kirby is the father of Dynamic design and the co creator of the marvel universe along with Stan Lee. When he passed He was immortalized in the comic books as The One Above All. Who is basically the god of the marvel universe there is no other character more powerful than him because he is the creator of the universe thats why the character is not used that much in the comics. When Stan Lee passed he was immortalized as a WATCHER in the marvel universe. The creators of the Marvel Universe are Stan Lee Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko. just a little bit of comic book history.
But Galactus is still less powerful than the Infinity Jewels and doesn't represent a threat of that magnitude. Since the Thanos saga has already been done, if Marvel wants to push the envelope and bring something to the screen that surpasses that, i think the only way to go is *Secret Wars.* A war between all the major heroes and villains is something worth going to the theater to see, with the added bonus threat of having to deal with a God-like entity that could destroy all of reality at will...
And Mark Ruffalo still hasn't been given his own Hulk movie.
I think marvel is scared to do that tbh considering how the 2008 one went
The rights to a solo Hulk movie are still tied up with Universal, but they can use him in ensemble films all they want.
He doesn't need one, I did not care for what they did to Hulk in Endgame and Ruffalo is way to woke for me to want to watch him in anything at this point.

My most Anticipated character for Phase 4 is definitely Shang Chi. About time a Prominent Asian male Superhero is introduced. Also looking forward to seeing how Falcon embraces his new journey with the Shield. Can't wait for Marharshala Ali's debut & portrayal as BLADE.
