I don't think she really thinks she was ugly, I think she just thinks some of her styling was weird or ugly. If you notice there's a few mvs where she says nothing negative about herself, she's styled pretty normally in those.

You can tell how bad a company is by how many employees choose to leave. Just look at how many lineup changes 9Muses went through. All these songs were great, why weren't they more successful?

@@kyeoptawerk93ah "graduations" are a cheap excuse for companies to keep milking off a group's brand despite key members leaving. sera leaving 9muses, kahi leaving afterschool... both of those things hurt the groups in question beyond repair. nobody in a "graduation group" leaves under good terms, the contrats might end but there's always a very good reason for them to not resign. and the "graduation" system just doesn't fit kpop. it's an attempt at j-pop's own graduation system, and it works and makes sense for j-pop groups like akb48, nogizaka46, etc. j-pop idols "graduate" because their time is up - fans knew they would leave eventually. they leave to have solo careers, go back to school, go back to normal life, and they're given a graduation ceremony with the fans and the other members. k-pop idols "graduate" randomly, nobody knows who's leaving and when, the idol happened to finally see a chance to free themselves from horrible management, and the fans are caught by surprise.

You girls had literally one of the best discography ever in K-Pop history. One of the few groups with actually good songs instead of album fillers, not just the title tracks. And despite always being too overlooked because of other groups with bigger fandoms or better promotional support, you should be proud, like the girls of Rainbow, of what you contributed to K-Pop: QUALITY.
You can tell she loved those members by how she reacted every time they were on screen. Some groups can't stand each other in there but she loved all the girls and its so evident

This was such a bittersweet video Sera. It was nice seeing you involve nine muses on your channel as they will always have a special place in my heart. Hyemi will always be my number 1 bias in K-pop and when you said you were having a hard time watching this because of how young some of the members were during filming it made me cry a little. You are the sweetest and you definitely didn't deserve to be kicked out as leader. We love you Sera, Queen of Orbits!
Always remember that You and Hyemi are the best vocalists Nine Muses ever had. Your voice is such a blessing from above. The 2011-2013 Lineup is irreplaceable - Lee Sem, Eunji and you, Sera. Nobody can ever replace your position from the group.

9muses got a lot of hate when they debuted just for the fact that they had 9 members because it was during snsd's peak.. Now almost all girl groups now have 9 members..and no one bats an eye
The MV at 20:00 the clothes also looks like SNSDs, they have some photos that looks like SNSD photos, maybe the company wanted like this to get famous and bc of that koreans hated them, bu after some years it changed! You don’t understand how much 9muses impacted my life. You girls released the best music in kpop imo and should’ve been the biggest girl group in the world after releasing dolls (one of the best songs ever). Sera I loce you so much you were always my favorite member and after you left it wasn’t the same, however as a fan I know that you did the right thing. Love you and 9muses forever
I agree, it broke my heart when she said that the first mv was painful for her and the girls to film, but seeing the reason why, it makes sense. Now I’m never going to look at the mv the same. Their management should have done better.
Nine Muses are and were one of the greatest girl groups in kpop history. With one of the best discographies in kpop history. They have been criminally underrated and IMHO badly mismanaged. There is only one reason that Nine Muses weren't more successful. Their height, age, and overall sophistication made them seem too old and inaccessible to be kids' fantasy girlfriends. Bottom line: they were too good for kpop.

I'm responding to this video a little late because I just watched it, but I have to say that out of all the K-pop groups, 9Muses has the most originality and discography in their music videos. I'm really amazed by all of your efforts and the fact that you never gave up. We will always remember you guys, and Sera, this must have been so overwhelming for you, but it shows how strong you are and how everything you went through shaped you into who you are, and you were always an outstanding leader because of how much you cared about your group. I will always enjoy your songs because I recognize how hard you all worked for it, and it is genuinely fantastic.
I'm watching this again and here are my thoughts. No Playboy was a great song, but having seen the British documentary showing how not just you but all the members were treated and the manager saying the song was terrible it's all just heart breaking. We can only begin to imagine how hard all of you worked, then to be treated like that is just adding insult to injury. I can only hope that asshole managers like that aren't the norm but I have a feeling they are. Personally, I would LOVE to see a 9Muses reunion tour. For me, that would be worth the price of a trip to Korea to see. I'd love to see all of you reunited and performing for 2-3 hours all the great songs that were done. I still listen to your music every day and it always brings a smile to my face and joy to my heart.

I've been watching your reactions for a while now without knowing your background. I still remember the first time I saw your reaction to a video, and I though to myself: "Oh she looks like she could be a K-Pop star with her looks, mannerisms and the pure appreciation of the content she's viewing". Then I saw you interview Dreamcatcher, and I thought "Oh she must be doing all this because she has a huge following suitable for promoting groups". Then I saw the somewhat modest number of subscribers, and I was admittedly confused. Then I saw your recent MV, and I thought "Wow she can sing really well!", thinking that this was your first foray into the industry . Then I saw this video of you reacting to your old MVs, and something hit me: I had to know more about you. So I did my quick research and came across the the documentary '9 Muses Of Star Empire', which I just finished watching like 10 minutes ago. Then it all made sense... You GET the industry. In addition to your obvious love of music and performing, you understand the hardships, the sacrifices and the regrets that a lot of these entertainers go through. You're a veteran, someone who's seen it from the inside and lived it front and center. THAT's what sets you apart from the rest of the reactors. Today you've won another subscriber and supporter here, and I wish you the best of luck on your future endeavours. You are still a star in this fan's eyes.
This is honestly the cutest thing ever 💜 I'm a new K-POP fan, and I really love 9Muses. I watched the BBC documentary, so now I'm caught up in all the drama around this band. Sera does seem to be the soul of 9Muses, and it's sweet to see her watching their music videos and appreciating the performance, and singing along with. Those songs are such absolute bops!!!

You know about Rania right? Their youngest members were 17 international age when they debuted and they debuted risqué. But speaking of AOA, I hope they revisit the band concept before they disband.

Just a heads up, in some parts, she gets shy and cringed not only because she is seeing herself, but because of the outfit. In case you dont know, sera doesnt like risque and sexy/revealing outfit and concept that much. But she did it because the company forced them to do it, even when there was a minor in the group. One of the biggest reason Sera get kicked from the group, was because she wanted the whole group to have a say in their concept and outfit, preferably for protecting the younger members and no more member changes. They dont like her opinion, and they refuse to renew her contract.

sera i know you have thousands of comments here already so you may not see mine but i want to let you know how much 9muses impacted me. i'm a korean expat in canada and for a while i didn't like kpop because i was embarrassed of it. 9muses was the first group way back in 2014 that i liked and has brought me to where i am today, a huge kpop fan with an appreciation for it and a better connection to the country overall. 9muses brought me closer to my history by connecting me with korean music. thank you to you and the other girls so much. 9muses will always be one of my favourite groups ever, with some of the best title songs i've ever heard.

개인적으로 매우 안타까운 걸그룹....리얼 노래 안무 매력 하나 나무랄대가 없는 걸그룹이였는데...특히 보이스 컬러랑 킬링파트 렙이 쩔어줬지...특히 돌스 드라마 같은 경우는 보이스 렙 안무 뭐하나 부족한게 없는 노래..아무리 봐도 운때가 안맞았거나 소속사가 병신이였던듯..

@@Megan11.. It was back during a time when underage idols were viewed as 'normal'. Taemin of SHINee debuted at 14, Krystal turned 15 one month AFTER f(x)'s debut, Seohyun and Yoona of SNSD were also 16 when they debuted, Minzy was 15 when 2NE1 came on the scene. Frankly, most of these groups did not have any provocative songs or choreographies, particularly SNSD. When they approached a more "mature" image, all of the members had already turned the legal age in Korea as well. But then, there is Minzy. In 2010, 2NE1 had their comeback with 'Can't Nobody'. In the MV, there is a scene of Minzy dressed in leather leggings and a leather corset-like top, in heels, walking and dancing down a hallway, a few particular seconds are also rather 'suggestive'. It would all seem fine until you realize that Minzy was 16 when they filmed that MV. Fans weren't pleased with that either, but it didn't even make headlines because people were quicker to brush things off then. Things are different now, underage debuts are more controversial now and when they happen, I personally feel like the group isn't given a concept similar to Nine Muses. Take Itzy as an example - 3 out of 5 members are underage in Korea, 1 of those 3 is also underage internationally. Their concepts aren't really 'mature'. Seeing someone debut at 14 or 15 nowadays is certainly much less common (if not even impossible) nowadays. And that's a good thing.
From watching the BBC documentary on Nine Muses their company hardly gave them any positive feedback and gratitude, any tiny mistake they made was pointed out and addressed harshly, about playboy the visuals were great all nine of them looked stunning and the girls performance was great. Very professional. Those Star Empire managers nitpicked at Playboy. In fact all of Nine Muses lead singles were bops. 😊 Their company should've nurtured them more and their talents and listened to Sera's input instead of kicking her out. So sad that the Kpop industry cannot be more humane and caring towards their hardworking idols who sacrificed so much.
Even Glue was just a low budget music video, the song itself is so expensive. Expensively great to listen. A bop. Maybe Glue was created in a low budget music video because that year, they had 4 comebacks in a year.
Damn, I didn't know they went through all that during No Playboy. The company was in the wrong to sexualize the members, esp when they were so uncomfortable with it. Sera looked so miserable watching the MV. You can tell how much happier she was to review Figaro (which is my favorite 9 Muses song and the one that got me into them).
If you haven't seen the documentary about them, "9 Muses of Star Empire", I HIGHLY recommend it. You will see all the backstage things. It's so heartbreaking to watch but it'll make you understand what they went through.
After "Doll" and "Wild", i really thought you guys were going to hit it big... 9Muses had the best rapper lines in that era as well... I could never understand why Rainbow and 9Muses just couldn't make the next big step... they were both great!
Sera, I loved your reaction to your NineMuses MV’s. You started out nervous and scared, but then you blossomed into joy as good memories came back to you. Rarely do we get the opportunity to see a Star review their own work and entertain us at the same time. Would you consider reviewing NineMuses maybe once a year, every year? It would be great fun, as you may see interesting and different things to comment on, as the years pass. You are a celebrity and a Star, and you always will be.
We know that Nine Muses members were cast to consist of tall, attractive models that could sing, do choreography well, and be willing to put in the work. Limiting and finding such talent was obviously difficult when as models most had other career options. Because of this, being leader must have been as hard as herding (much loved) cats! Members continuing to leave the group after debut shows that. In addition, management appeared to be very difficult and not very understanding to work with. Sera, many if not most of your fans have probably seen the kpop documentary years ago on Nine Muses that included your experience as leader. The feeling of empathy and respect as I watched you do your very best there is one the reasons I follow you now with my utmost appreciation for your insight and compassion as you cover other kpop groups like Loona. Your talented performances in Nine Muses is of course the other reason. Thank you. We appreciate you very much.

I still remember when I first came across 9 muses. I was 13 at that time, listening to them performing at music bank 'one-way ticket' on TV after finishing school. From then on, I liked every song they released, even learning their dances. I can't remember when I stopped following 9 muses. Fast forward to a few days ago, I KRplus randomly recommended a video to me the documentary ''9 Muses Of Star Empire''. I was pretty shocked that they even had a documentary. Honestly, it was hard to watch, but I still watched all the way. It's so painful to see the members going through that much stress and abuse. When I see Sera cried, it just broke my heart. I'm 24 now, it's been 10 years :O A lot of us seriously don't know why 9muses couldn't top the charts. The music is so good. I hope you're doing well now. Going to subscribe to your Patreon later :D

Even if there's sure some traumatic experiences from the whole Nine Muses deal, there will always be some nice moments to come from it. I think the members of nine muses can hold their heads high due to their hard work and sacrifice. They all did a great job despite difficult circumstances. Unfortunately the whole industry is rife with abusive management, slave contracts and other issues such as crazed netizens. It's time for some big reforms in the KPOP industry. I feel so sorry for some of the talented performers who are no longer with us.
Nine Muses has so much potential since debut it just the company didn't give you guys proper treatment and promotion and marketing.. Nine Muses deserve better. You guys did well since debut.
Not exactly the case, but sadly there are many groups and songs with potential, but the media broadcasters are completely buried in songs and groups from the 4-5 big companies where the top artists are registered. In the past trying to focus on a foreign market was a risky strategy where some were successful like KARA, and others followed, I think Blackpink is more famous in the U. S than in South Korea.. Nowadays has become common to care for "global fans", but still there're so many groups to pay attention to every song.

I literally watched that and thought I would search up my favorite girl that had it the worst in the documentary. Then it lead me to you. Thing is...I was/am already subscribed to you. It is such a stark contrast to the entertainment industry which is so manufactured. Seeing an actual star who was in the industry going through her music videos is so moving. @@kyeoptawerk93ah "graduations" are a cheap excuse for companies to keep milking off a group's brand despite key members leaving. sera leaving 9muses, kahi leaving afterschool... both of those things hurt the groups in question beyond repair. nobody in a "graduation group" leaves under good terms, the contrats might end but there's always a very good reason for them to not resign. and the "graduation" system just doesn't fit kpop. it's an attempt at j-pop's own graduation system, and it works and makes sense for j-pop groups like akb48, nogizaka46, etc.
j-pop idols "graduate" because their time is up - fans knew they would leave eventually. they leave to have solo careers, go back to school, go back to normal life, and they're given a graduation ceremony with the fans and the other members. k-pop idols "graduate" randomly, nobody knows who's leaving and when, the idol happened to finally see a chance to free themselves from horrible management, and the fans are caught by surprise.

Nine Muses are and were one of the greatest girl groups in kpop history. With one of the best discographies in kpop history. They have been criminally underrated and IMHO badly mismanaged. I'm responding to this video a little late because I just watched it, but I have to say that out of all the K-pop groups, 9Muses has the most originality and discography in their music videos. I'm really amazed by all of your efforts and the fact that you never gave up. We will always remember you guys, and Sera, this must have been so overwhelming for you, but it shows how strong you are and how everything you went through shaped you into who you are, and you were always an outstanding leader because of how much you cared about your group. I will always enjoy your songs because I recognize how hard you all worked for it, and it is genuinely fantastic.
I'm watching this again and here are my thoughts. No Playboy was a great song, but having seen the British documentary showing how not just you but all the members were treated and the manager saying the song was terrible it's all just heart breaking. We can only begin to imagine how hard all of you worked, then to be treated like that is just adding insult to injury. I can only hope that asshole managers like that aren't the norm but I have a feeling they are. Personally, I would LOVE to see a 9Muses reunion tour. For me, that would be worth the price of a trip to Korea to see. I'd love to see all of you reunited and performing for 2-3 hours all the great songs that were done. I still listen to your music every day and it always brings a smile to my face and joy to my heart.

This is honestly the cutest thing ever 💜 I'm a new K-POP fan, and I really love 9Muses. I watched the BBC documentary, so now I'm caught up in all the drama around this band. Just a heads up, in some parts, she gets shy and cringed not only because she is seeing herself, but because of the outfit.
In case you dont know, sera doesnt like risque and sexy/revealing outfit and concept that much. But she did it because the company forced them to do it, even when there was a minor in the group. One of the biggest reason Sera get kicked from the group, was because she wanted the whole group to have a say in their concept and outfit, preferably for protecting the younger members and no more member changes. They dont like her opinion, and they refuse to renew her contract.

sera i know you have thousands of comments here already so you may not see mine but i want to let you know how much 9muses impacted me. i'm a korean expat in canada and for a while i didn't like kpop because i was embarrassed of it. 9muses was the first group way back in 2014 that i liked and has brought me to where i am today, a huge kpop fan with an appreciation for it and a better connection to the country overall. 9muses brought me closer to my history by connecting me with korean music. thank you to you and the other girls so much. 9muses will always be one of my favourite groups ever, with some of the best title songs i've ever heard.

Taemin of SHINee debuted at 14, Krystal turned 15 one month AFTER f(x)'s debut, Seohyun and Yoona of SNSD were also 16 when they debuted, Minzy was 15 when 2NE1 came on the scene. Frankly, most of these groups did not have any provocative songs or choreographies, particularly SNSD. When they approached a more "mature" image, all of the members had already turned the legal age in Korea as well. But then, there is Minzy. In 2010, 2NE1 had their comeback with 'Can't Nobody'. In the MV, there is a scene of Minzy dressed in leather leggings and a leather corset-like top, in heels, walking and dancing down a hallway, a few particular seconds are also rather 'suggestive'. It would all seem fine until you realize that Minzy was 16 when they filmed that MV. Fans weren't pleased with that either, but it didn't even make headlines because people were quicker to brush things off then. Things are different now, underage debuts are more controversial now and when they happen, I personally feel like the group isn't given a concept similar to Nine Muses. Take Itzy as an example - 3 out of 5 members are underage in Korea, 1 of those 3 is also underage internationally. Their concepts aren't really 'mature'. Seeing someone debut at 14 or 15 nowadays is certainly much less common (if not even impossible) nowadays. And that's a good thing.
From watching the BBC documentary on Nine Muses their company hardly gave them any positive feedback and gratitude, any tiny mistake they made was pointed out and addressed harshly, about playboy the visuals were great all nine of them looked stunning and the girls performance was great. Very professional. Those Star Empire managers nitpicked at Playboy. In fact all of Nine Muses lead singles were bops. 😊 Their company should've nurtured them more and their talents and listened to Sera's input instead of kicking her out. So sad that the Kpop industry cannot be more humane and caring towards their hardworking idols who sacrificed so much.
Even Glue was just a low budget music video, the song itself is so expensive. Expensively great to listen. A bop. Maybe Glue was created in a low budget music video because that year, they had 4 comebacks in a year.
Damn, I didn't know they went through all that during No Playboy. The company was in the wrong to sexualize the members, esp when they were so uncomfortable with it. Sera looked so miserable watching the MV. You can tell how much happier she was to review Figaro (which is my favorite 9 Muses song and the one that got me into them).
If you haven't seen the documentary about them, "9 Muses of Star Empire", I HIGHLY recommend it. You will see all the backstage things. It's so heartbreaking to watch but it'll make you understand what they went through.

We know that Nine Muses members were cast to consist of tall, attractive models that could sing, do choreography well, and be willing to put in the work. Limiting and finding such talent was obviously difficult when as models most had other career options. Because of this, being leader must have been as hard as herding (much loved) cats! Members continuing to leave the group after debut shows that. In addition, management appeared to be very difficult and not very understanding to work with.
Sera, many if not most of your fans have probably seen the kpop documentary years ago on Nine Muses that included your experience as leader. The feeling of empathy and respect as I watched you do your very best there is one the reasons I follow you now with my utmost appreciation for your insight and compassion as you cover other kpop groups like Loona. I still remember when I first came across 9 muses. I was 13 at that time, listening to them performing at music bank 'one-way ticket' on TV after finishing school. From then on, I liked every song they released, even learning their dances. I can't remember when I stopped following 9 muses.
Fast forward to a few days ago, I KRplus randomly recommended a video to me the documentary ''9 Muses Of Star Empire''. I was pretty shocked that they even had a documentary. Honestly, it was hard to watch, but I still watched all the way. It's so painful to see the members going through that much stress and abuse. When I see Sera cried, it just broke my heart. I'm 24 now, it's been 10 years :O A lot of us seriously don't know why 9muses couldn't top the charts. The music is so good.

I think the members of nine muses can hold their heads high due to their hard work and sacrifice. They all did a great job despite difficult circumstances. Unfortunately the whole industry is rife with abusive management, slave contracts and other issues such as crazed netizens. It's time for some big reforms in the KPOP industry. I feel so sorry for some of the talented performers who are no longer with us.
Nine Muses has so much potential since debut it just the company didn't give you guys proper treatment and promotion and marketing..

Not exactly the case, but sadly there are many groups and songs with potential, but the media broadcasters are completely buried in songs and groups from the 4-5 big companies where the top artists are registered.
In the past trying to focus on a foreign market was a risky strategy where some were successful like KARA, and others followed, I think Blackpink is more famous in the U. S than in South Korea.. Nowadays has become common to care for "global fans", but still there're so many groups to pay attention to every song.

You deserved to be a part of a company that acknowledged your value as a stunning, talented artist, and respected all of your wishes. What they did to you and the other girls was criminally abusive. I can only try to imagine how it must have felt to be exploited and left feeling like an empty shell of a person. You deserved to love what you were a part of, and to be confident and happy as an individual. No words can convey the amount of strength it must have taken you to fight through your experience. I hope you can see now just how unlimited your worth is, and how beautiful you are inside and out

this video is quite an emotional rollercoaster. I really feel with you, Sera. All the parts in which you are sad or happy are so genuine and emotional. It is such a stark contrast to the entertainment industry which is so manufactured. Seeing an actual star who was in the industry going through her music videos is so moving. The timidness when you feel uncomfortable and the sparkle in your eyes when you are excited. It is just wow, overwhelming. I wish you all the best, Sera.
