as a hao stan, I really want to say to him that he deserved all those praises as the result of what he went through years back being a foreign trainee from China to Korea, got trained as the shortest period member of svt, struggling with korean language. he did went through a lot. I really hope he can see that he's loved from Carats all around the world and really do take care of his mental health as svt is getting busier.

I think Minghao already is a person who shines. He really does seem to shine with everything he does. His passion, his drive, his need to achieve perfection, the music he makes, the performances he does, his art, his photography, his style and everything else about him. I will never stop talking about this but Minghao is legit my biggest inspiration. Everything about him makes me wanna do better, makes me wanna learn and enjoy things, makes me wanna enjoy life. It makes me so happy to see that there's a person out there who dreams this big and actually manages to make them a reality. It's so nice to see someone who loves and values themselves so much to continuously wanna do better. I admire him for how he deals with hard times. Watching this made my heart ache and tear up and I wanna give him the biggest hug. But I'm also thankful for him for showing this side of him. Because it teaches you how to deal with hard times in a healthy way and grow from them. I hope he has healed from what he went through or that he will, soon. Thank you for everything Xu Minghao. You really do shine :)

I think just like you. The way he just... Exists is even magical on its own. He has his own kind of aura and that just really shows me that there are beautiful souls out there in this world. I really liked the part where minghao said that people don’t realize that they don’t take time to really understand their emotions. after hearing that I realized that I was doing that and it has almost made me self-destruct (?) idk how to explain it but I felt touched. I feel like in today’s world we think that not being productive is bad and that we take time for ourselves as a luxury.

It is true. Most people neglected their own emotions and going for being productive and doing the actions instead of being reflective too. But I personally experienced that, I can be even more productive when I take the time and sit with my emotions and understands myself better. Thank you The8 for shedding more light into this area of our lives. 😍
That’s how I feel too, that’s why I also believe it helps to have a journal to let it out and not let it get in your head, just as a way of releasing those thoughts. It makes you think that this one day, weeks, months that you felt will motivate you one day to find a new challenge. When you read or look back, those memories may hurt as if you felt that way all over again but it does help you grow over time as well, especially, the feeling of gratitude :) it really does make you appreciate those little moments, good or bad that helps you grow to find yourself.
Agree, I feel like all of us know this at the back of our minds. But Minghao refreshes and (re)emphasizes it for us, and brought it up as an impt point for us to always rmb :)
I think it's interesting that Minghao said he was trying to figure out how to make himself stand out among the members because it was just a small gesture of his that caught my attention and made me a huge fan of his. I think he has a quiet but potent presence you can't help but notice: not just as a performer but as a person. To be so young, he also seems quite contemplative and mature. And he is so ridiculously precious in those overalls-I love his sense of style.

It’s because he hit a bit of a wall somewhere around 2016-17 where he felt that his image as an idol (cutesy) didn’t really reflect who he was on the inside and who he wanted to be as an artist. That’s when he began to read a lot of books and gained a lot of inspiration from them.

I HIGHLY recommend watching a jun and minghao compilation from the chinese show chao yin zhan ji that they went on. Minghao is a lot more open about his fondness and reliance on Jun, he even said things like "being with him is just a natural part of life, it's a lifestyle". He's really a sensitive person. I really admire how he view life and how he identified his emotion. I admire his way of life overall. I'm a sensitive person myself, and it's really often when it becomes too much, because we're too deep on our emotions. I'm glad SEVENTEEN's The8 exist even though his parents were against it, I'm glad that Xu Minghao born to this world. I'm glad that I have a chance to know this wonderful man, cherish him, and being a part of fandom that he adore just as much. He doesn't have any idea how grateful I am just because his mere existence, how grateful I am that he helped me through life unconciously. Thank you, Xu Minghao, for letting us see this side of yourself. Thank you for your trust. Always remember to be happy and it's okay to not feel okay.

The fact that he admits to his sensitivities yet is one of the most level-headed and well-composed members out of the thirteen...thank you for showing us the range and depth of ALL of your emotions, Minghao. It's truly an honor that he feels comfortable enough to express his honest self with us. Minghao is both my bias and my ultimate and I couldn't be in more awe of him. He seems to live very intentionally with a very careful rhythm and confidence, it's super inspiring to someone so anxious and unsure like myself. I actually find his words comforting, like sometimes idols might just say things for fanservice but I could really feel Minghao's sincerity here. Keep on glowing, King!

"a time to face myself like how the sky is darkest before sunrise," summarizes the8's life. the dark sky in his life was when he moved to korea, not knowing a single thing about the country's language and culture and having no one by his side that understands him until jun came along, jun was the one who brought a bit of light in his life- someone who he is comfortable with and someone that understands him.
his sunrise was when seventeen finally debuted and being successful, all his years filled with struggles and months filled with tears are worth it. he is here as seventeen's the8 and he's grown to be the man we love today.

Someday I will watch this again, without having panic attacks, without feeling alot more wistful and having to handle the tears because you don't want anyone to know you're sad. Someday, this will make me smile and remember the hardship I had while I'm watching this now. Dear future self, you'd probably be successful someday, don't give up. Please, let Seventeen be your inspiration.

As someone who's been a Carat since their trainee days, I'm so happy to see The8 grow as a person and an artist over the years. He was shy and quiet in the beginning. He struggled to speak fluent Korean as a foreigner coming to Korea alone to pursue his dreams and struggled with a lot of other things and this we know even though he doesn't always talk about it. In recent years he has stand out a lot and he's receiving the attention and appreciation he always deserved. His talents ain't no joke. His contemporary dances and how he could give us a message through it, his voice, his art, his sense of fashion, his dance skills, his personality -everything looks like a masterpiece, a work of art. The8 is such a calm person and for so many reasons I respect him a lot, and you sure do too. He's truly a strong person and even though all of the struggles he's been through is not known to us, we know he's come a long way and he is who he is today because of what he's been through and the love he's received from Seventeen and us. I wish him all the happiness in the world because that's what he deserves and I want him to know that he's truly a great artist, we love and appreciate him and he will always have our support.

I relate to him so much. Minghao has such a huge heart, and he's so cautious of his words and actions and others' reactions it comes across as him being cold or calculated. He's such a kind soul. minghao is such a beautiful person. from the way he expresses his love towards others, his unique style of dance, his fashion sense and art capabilities all the way to his cute giggle and accent that i adore when he speaks Korean. he’s one of those people who you just want to wrap in a blanket and shield him from all the bad things in the world.

We all didn't know that 2019 was just a hard year and time for Minghao :( If only we knew, we could have done so much more in cheering for him. I'm just so happy that despite his struggles, he was able to get pass that by doing what he loves; whether through drawing, painting, designing his clothes, photography, music and dance. Our well-rounder, minghao, it must have been hard but thank you for working so hard and enduring it until the end. We love you 💖💎
It's ok minghao, don't feel stressed about worrying us. Carats will always be here to support you when you need it, and help you through your hard times since seventeen always helps us through our rough patches. I was hoping my bias's episode would be during the time they were in San Jose (my hometown)! Didn't realize Minghao walked around Downtown during their time there. Was kinda surreal being able to recognize the area he was at, especially the lightrail (train)
On a side note, I suppose his recent solo is about his emotional struggles during the last year. I hope he's doing better and find it amazing how well he was able to capture that period and transform it into art the way he did 💕 Ily Minghao

- well I just can't help but agreed . Honestly speaking out of this, I think I had spend of my youth along with k-pop .
Although there were still long way of my youths to end but I still genuinely happy because of that. Sometimes I do wonder, how would my life changes if I had zero knowledge about k-pop , would I concentrate more on my studies? but, I just want to put it aside and take only positives thing.

I love how Minghao's mind works. He's very sentimental and has a strong will-power. I really admire how he holds on to the dark moments in order to create something beautiful out of it. As they say, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and Minghao is really so tough to be able to do that.
