I honestly think the seventeen member that changed and grew the most since debut is Minghao. Being one of the last to join Pledis he had only trained for a few months before debut, and back then he was so shy and struggled to express himself. But now? He’s developed his strengths and skills and he knows how to be the puzzle piece in seventeen and work seamlessly as a part of a team but he’s also able to come out on his own and create his own art with his own style. I’m so happy to see this and so proud of the artist he’s become 💜
I think it was more like pledis made him have this “shy and cutesie” persona. Like how Mingyu said at Fine Brothers that he had the same personality as Seungkwan but he has to talk less as the “visual”. Nevertheless, I’m glad Minghao is unapologetically being himself now.
Hiền Hồ i’ve always thought of this, i mean he was introduced to 17TV around 3rd quarter (?) of 2014, but he probably been training at pledis early 2014. i mean they can’t just include a new trainee to the potential debut group around that time when all the existing members are experienced trainees already and ready to debut. Pledis probably saw a huge potential in him that he was moved to 17 after short period of basic training.
When I first watched this I cried. I didn’t understand anything he was saying but the emotions of the dance, the composition, and the way he sings had tear well in my eyes.And when I read the lyrics I cried again. This is such a beautiful and powerful piece of art. Even when I come back to watch this it still makes me tear up. I can feel his pain and I can feel the pain for everyone who experiences the pain of loneliness. Everything is done perfectly and expressively down to their facial express and the lighting. Ok, something really amazing that NOBODY is talking about is his vocal improvement. He already sang well, but now, can you hear that resonance? His head voice is really better, he is less nasal, he has a lot more power and control, I love this boy so much. A lot of idols stop to improve vocally after some time, but he and Junhui are just getting better and better, to a level that they could be a part of the vocal team without doubts. I'm so proud of him ;_;

Minghao said he wrote this in his darkest time in 2019, I hope he knows he doesn't have to hide his sadness and idk if you know but you can tell his feelings by the paintings he paints, he said in an interview that the colours match his feeling so now he has been using hints of yellow because he's feeling more hopeful later but at this time he did a painting with grey, black and red. As someone who don't have any idea about dance, I can say that he really express it so well. I was crying so bad when he make a 'flying bird' gesture as I felt that he try to 'fly away' from this world and it feels like I was stabbed in a heart when he make those gesture. Honestly Minghao is soo underrated in seventeen and doesn't get enough recognition or praise for how talented he really is. He has never trained to do contemporary dance and his main dance style is hip hop and bboying yet he was able to choreograph such a beautiful dance full of emotion. He choreographed this dance and made this song👋 I know hoshi participates in the making of seventeens choreo's but I'm not sure if minghao does but if he doesn't I really hope he gets the opportunity to because he's a really great choreographer.
Yes, Minghao does participate in the choreography of some of SVT's songs 'cause the performance unit always helps with the group's choreography- although maybe the China Line & Dino help more for the Perf Unit's dances idk; however, Dino did make the choreography for Flower :)

the song's lyrics are about facing pain and feeling hopeless, and despairing about why he can't feel better and why he can't escape. the dance is supposed to represent his darker side or possibly some external force trying to control him and tell him how to act or what to feel. when the light focuses on him, he's breaking through, but when it doesn't, he's succumbing to the bad thoughts. the blue light represents the worst times where he's completely at the mercy of the dark shadow, but both times the blue light happens he has a burst-through moment leading to the end, where the bright light and fog and reaching up moments show that he's finally trying to make his way out of the darkness.

In my opinion, he's the softest dancer in svt. I really love to see his dancing performance. All svt members dance well especially the performance Team, but they dance well in different aspects, e.g. Hoshi and Dino are good at power and coordination, while Minghao is good at flexibility and express emotion.
i was 11 years old when this song came out. i was having a hard time with covid, and the start of online school was hell. sure it was silly, but living through it was hell, outside of online school too, was hell at the time. i hated being home, hated my school. when i heard this came out, i was ecstatic. minghao is my bias and when i watched this, i cried and immediately showed my sister. i anxiously waited for this to be on spotify, but nothing. i listened to this song everyday and made me forget about my hellish school and hell of a home. this song was keeping me alive. thank you minghao, i am now 15. thank you seventeen as a whole. i love you guys.
The fact that he doesn't have a background of learning contemporary dance makes The8 one of the dance geniuses of Kpop. He only learn B-boy, has never actually take modern dance as a class. If you love them and want to do something instead of making rude comments, make people come and do a stream party or anything like that when the fandom come closer and spend a great time together. I wasn't going to comment, but I feel complied to: I've been into world music for several years now, especially kpop and cpop. I have NEVER seen an artist do something to THIS depth and skill level. I've watched contemporary and modern dances done by idols, but I have yet to see something that shows such a DEEP and raw emotion, moving his body an a way that many would be too embarrassed to, or simply not capable of. This man is more talented than I have ever known before. Not to mention he also helped compose and write lyrics for this song, and ACTUALLY took part in creating this choreo, not just learning one that someone else made for him, which deserves WAY more recognition. I speak Chinese as a 2nd language and also dance, so here are some of the parts where it hit hardest: - "末日之前在呼喊，痛苦的声音 Before Doomsday/the end of the world, I'm shouting sounds of agony." To me, this emphasized his pain-- before everything has fallen, he's already breaking down. “坠落到哪里在哪里 Until I fall where, where" Furthur emphasizes that he is really collapsing. He sings about the whole world collapsing as well, and how nobody would notice if he disappeared. I think this alluding to not only him struggling with mental health, but also the mentality of society-- we live in a world where everyone is living so fast, with little consideration for others and their feelings, saying harsh words to each other without realizing the pain it causes. By the world breaking and crumbling apart, my interpretation is HIS world of mental health, but also quite literally THE world where even if he is a famous star, he is still seemingly a nobody and if he were to disappear, he'd be forgotten quickly in this fast-paced modern world. - 0:51 reminds me of a plane or something propelled. It goes through mild turbulence, before finally going out of control. It's like how his life may feel, at first he hits a low point thinking he can get out from it through time, but it spirals out of control in time and he falls. - 1:03 reminds me of something I did as a child when things became too loud. It's like there's a constant noise for him, perhaps hateful words, or the demons he hears within his own head. Or maybe he has a form of anxiety in general and real noise of any sort can send him into a panic (I'm NOT trying to diagnose him, I'm just trying to share how I'm interpreting this dance. He very well could be portraying someone else and not himself. You don't have to be "you" in dance). - 1:37 when he struggles to escape his demons, and then tries to fight them by pushing them away from him. (Depicting the other dancer as mental health in this part). Then when they lay on the floor, it's almost as if The8 succumbed to his emotions. - 2:06 The spotlight is only on him, and he seems to be terrified of it, trying to hide. Perhaps this is him being anxious of performing, or perhaps simply being in the public's eyes. This could tie into 1:03 Then he does the contrary, and seems to be pulling a rope as if he's climbing towards the light. Perhaps the attention became like an addiction, and he craved more of it. 2:18 THIS PART!!! This part gives me more pain than anything. He acts like a weak little bird, still a baby. I'm raising a few baby birds right now, and this is EXACTLY how they are. Helpless, fluttering their wings trying to fly, legs trembling because they're too weak to stand for too long. He's comparing himself to a baby bird. He's become defenseless. He wants to fly away but doesn't have the energy to do so. I want to cry every time I see this part. I know it may look silly to some people, but dance is really a language in and of itself, and the words he spoke by replicating that movement....wow. Overall, this IS it. Nothing has ever carried such an emotion and portrayed it in such an impeccable manner. This is NOT an idol. This is a true, real, genuine artist. The8.

Been streaming this song so much since it came out. This song is like an emotional support to me. I remember when it came out I had many problems going with me. My mental health was falling, family had issues, much pressure from school, my anxiety got worse. Suffered from heavy depression but I couldn't even go to therapy cause of the pandemic. I felt wrong to be even born. But if this song didn't come out back then who knows what might've happened to me. I just wanna thank Hao for always teaching me so many things in life. For letting me know how to recognize myself, embrace my pain and happiness and learn something new everyday. Just today a while ago his teaser photo for his new single came out and I can't wait. Minghao said he wrote this in his darkest time in 2019, I hope he knows he doesn't have to hide his sadness and idk if you know but you can tell his feelings by the paintings he paints, he said in an interview that the colours match his feeling so now he has been using hints of yellow because he's feeling more hopeful later but at this time he did a painting with grey, black and red. As someone who don't have any idea about dance, I can say that he really express it so well. I was crying so bad when he make a 'flying bird' gesture as I felt that he try to 'fly away' from this world and it feels like I was stabbed in a heart when he make those gesture. Honestly Minghao is soo underrated in seventeen and doesn't get enough recognition or praise for how talented he really is. He has never trained to do contemporary dance and his main dance style is hip hop and bboying yet he was able to choreograph such a beautiful dance full of emotion. He choreographed this dance and made this song👋 I know hoshi participates in the making of seventeens choreo's but I'm not sure if minghao does but if he doesn't I really hope he gets the opportunity to because he's a really great choreographer.
Yes, Minghao does participate in the choreography of some of SVT's songs 'cause the performance unit always helps with the group's choreography- although maybe the China Line & Dino help more for the Perf Unit's dances idk; however, Dino did make the choreography for Flower :)

He is art himself but he continue to get better not just for himself but also for the people who believes in him. Well, emotions are abstract so it seems that's what he went for.
The fact that he was comfortable dancing with another man and doing what would traditionally be the "female" part of the dance is so touching. Every part of this is perfect.
Minghao said this song is about his struggles during his darkest times, you can see the the lyrics and choreograph conveyed his feelings very well. He said he is feeling much better now but still want to record this song as a memory for his future self, to record his growth as an artist, and i think that's very wise and beautiful ❤

the song's lyrics are about facing pain and feeling hopeless, and despairing about why he can't feel better and why he can't escape. the dance is supposed to represent his darker side or possibly some external force trying to control him and tell him how to act or what to feel. when the light focuses on him, he's breaking through, but when it doesn't, he's succumbing to the bad thoughts. the blue light represents the worst times where he's completely at the mercy of the dark shadow, but both times the blue light happens he has a burst-through moment leading to the end, where the bright light and fog and reaching up moments show that he's finally trying to make his way out of the darkness.

Thank you for saving my life in 2020, Minghao. While I was going through the most gruesome, painful therapy for my complex-PTSS and traumas for a year, I listened to this masterpiece every single day. It showed me that I too had strength, courage, and love during my most vulnerable time.
It is incredible how the shy boy who started as a b-boy, ended up making his own songs and with such a beautiful choreography, and so alive that he tells you a story with each movement, but above all his voice, it is all perfect, I thought nothing was going to overcome "dreams come true" but yes, something surpassed it, minghao surpassed himself

In my opinion, he's the softest dancer in svt. I really love to see his dancing performance. All svt members dance well especially the performance Team, but they dance well in different aspects, e.g. Hoshi and Dino are good at power and coordination, while Minghao is good at flexibility and express emotion.
i was 11 years old when this song came out. i was having a hard time with covid, and the start of online school was hell. sure it was silly, but living through it was hell, outside of online school too, was hell at the time. i hated being home, hated my school. when i heard this came out, i was ecstatic. minghao is my bias and when i watched this, i cried and immediately showed my sister. i anxiously waited for this to be on spotify, but nothing. i listened to this song everyday and made me forget about my hellish school and hell of a home. this song was keeping me alive. thank you minghao, i am now 15. thank you seventeen as a whole. i love you guys.
The fact that he doesn't have a background of learning contemporary dance makes The8 one of the dance geniuses of Kpop. He only learn B-boy, has never actually take modern dance as a class. Being a Jun and Minghao biased and seeing their works like this or others like covers taking more than months to reach 1M it's hurt. Even being a Carat it's hurting me when every member gave us something special and the fandom let the favoritism win over because before having my favorite members, I AM A CARAT FIRST and every one of them is my happiness.

It’s so incredibly beautiful I’m stunned and have got no words to explain how ethereal this song, the8's voice and dance moves are.. Chinese language is one of the prettiest for sure. Good job! You are the best!
You really can feel the emotions, It reminds me of nature like a voice of nature. Such a gentle yet powerful piece of art.
I wasn't going to comment, but I feel complied to: I've been into world music for several years now, especially kpop and cpop. I have NEVER seen an artist do something to THIS depth and skill level. I've watched contemporary and modern dances done by idols, but I have yet to see something that shows such a DEEP and raw emotion, moving his body an a way that many would be too embarrassed to, or simply not capable of. This man is more talented than I have ever known before. Not to mention he also helped compose and write lyrics for this song, and ACTUALLY took part in creating this choreo, not just learning one that someone else made for him, which deserves WAY more recognition.
I speak Chinese as a 2nd language and also dance, so here are some of the parts where it hit hardest:
- "末日之前在呼喊，痛苦的声音 Before Doomsday/the end of the world, I'm shouting sounds of agony." To me, this emphasized his pain-- before everything has fallen, he's already breaking down. “坠落到哪里在哪里 Until I fall where, where" Furthur emphasizes that he is really collapsing. He sings about the whole world collapsing as well, and how nobody would notice if he disappeared. I think this alluding to not only him struggling with mental health, but also the mentality of society-- we live in a world where everyone is living so fast, with little consideration for others and their feelings, saying harsh words to each other without realizing the pain it causes. By the world breaking and crumbling apart, my interpretation is HIS world of mental health, but also quite literally THE world where even if he is a famous star, he is still seemingly a nobody and if he were to disappear, he'd be forgotten quickly in this fast-paced modern world.
- 0:51 reminds me of a plane or something propelled. It goes through mild turbulence, before finally going out of control. It's like how his life may feel, at first he hits a low point thinking he can get out from it through time, but it spirals out of control in time and he falls.
- 1:03 reminds me of something I did as a child when things became too loud. It's like there's a constant noise for him, perhaps hateful words, or the demons he hears within his own head. Or maybe he has a form of anxiety in general and real noise of any sort can send him into a panic (I'm NOT trying to diagnose him, I'm just trying to share how I'm interpreting this dance. He very well could be portraying someone else and not himself. You don't have to be "you" in dance).
- 1:37 when he struggles to escape his demons, and then tries to fight them by pushing them away from him. (Depicting the other dancer as mental health in this part). Then when they lay on the floor, it's almost as if The8 succumbed to his emotions.
- 2:06 The spotlight is only on him, and he seems to be terrified of it, trying to hide. Perhaps this is him being anxious of performing, or perhaps simply being in the public's eyes. This could tie into 1:03 Then he does the contrary, and seems to be pulling a rope as if he's climbing towards the light. Perhaps the attention became like an addiction, and he craved more of it.
2:18 THIS PART!!! This part gives me more pain than anything. He acts like a weak little bird, still a baby. I'm raising a few baby birds right now, and this is EXACTLY how they are. Helpless, fluttering their wings trying to fly, legs trembling because they're too weak to stand for too long. He's comparing himself to a baby bird. He's become defenseless. He wants to fly away but doesn't have the energy to do so. I want to cry every time I see this part. I know it may look silly to some people, but dance is really a language in and of itself, and the words he spoke by replicating that movement....wow.
Overall, this IS it. Nothing has ever carried such an emotion and portrayed it in such an impeccable manner. This is NOT an idol. This is a true, real, genuine artist. The8.

Been streaming this song so much since it came out. This song is like an emotional support to me. I remember when it came out I had many problems going with me. My mental health was falling, family had issues, much pressure from school, my anxiety got worse. Suffered from heavy depression but I couldn't even go to therapy cause of the pandemic. I felt wrong to be even born. But if this song didn't come out back then who knows what might've happened to me. I just wanna thank Hao for always teaching me so many things in life. For letting me know how to recognize myself, embrace my pain and happiness and learn something new everyday.
