I feel like Seventeens ties to art is something really underrated like yes they're performers who aid in their performances creation but aside from that their love for creation is beautiful and very apparent. Their love for photography, filmography, painting, drawing, designing, clothes altering, hair styling, writing, calligraphy, cooking, styling, acting, reading, upcycling and more just shows how much they desire to observe and alter the world around them, had their idol careers not worked out I don't doubt many would still find their ways back into the arts. It's videos like this that remind me how much they love the process of creation and honestly its inspiring.

as a professional contemporary dancer, I really believe that Minghao is one of the best dancers in all of kpop. he's so versatile in all styles, his artistry/facial expressions back up all of the cool tricks he can physically pull off, his textures and lines are actually not of this world. he's SUCH a treat to watch!

However, this time, he is rejected for some reason. Then he falls down and crawls up in a defensive position 1:30~1:34 He gets up again, but this time he's looking for a way to move onwards 1:35 He ends up ultimately in front of the paper aka his self-identity that he let go of 1:39 He holds up the paper in confrontation. He's able to face himself now. 1:40 He keeps staring at the paper with a realization. He's sad but also relieved (his shoulders shake as if he's crying 1:44) For me this performance seemed like it was about self-acceptance (also coz the songs about that). his contemporary is absolutely gorgeous, and i think what i love most about it is that you can see the influence from his b-boy style in much of his floor work. he was able to marry these two styles in such a fluid and powerful way, and that's what makes him one of the best dancers. the fact that he never trained contemporary is genuinely so astounding to me as well. he's such a special gift
It makes me really happy when I see minghao getting the kind of attention he deserves and that he's putting in the work to pursue this. I just hope other members will get the opportunity to showcase their talents personally as well. Like, giving them solo songs in an album or something, but seeing them as a group really is something that most people and groups cannot achieve. their performance is amazing. Seventeen is the only group that can move me the way they do. I’m here crying over a video that’s less than 2 minutes long bc minghao’s talent of telling a story with the way he moves hit my core. Seventeen is more than music to me; they’re a never ending (aju nice) experience.
The8 has always had an aesthetic, he always has beautiful words/statements in which he tends to think of carefully. He is someone filled with sentiment and meaning. If you watch him closely as I have, you would know that along with hiphop, this style is also apart of who he is wholeheartedly. Watch his twinkle twinkle CYZJ performance, he is filled with aesthetic.
I agree, he really creates a piece of art whenever he starts something, always does it wholeheartly. Contemporary would've been the last genre of dance that I would associate with The8 but he completely OWNED that! He uses his strengths and agility from b-boying and hip hop and made a work of art that is only for The8. No one can execute this piece but him💜

Minghao actually mentioned in one of his Yizhibo live last year that he was learning Contemporary dance and Folk (民族) dance, because he thought they suited his style. The choreographers for this dance besides him are eminent choreographer (Park) contemporary dancer (Cho) in South Korea. This is not to discredit the fact that he is the main drive and mastermind behind this artistic masterpiece and how courageous and inspirational it is of him to explore different artistic fields in a quest to improve himself every day, but I feel the need to clarify that what we are seeing is a result of thoughtful and tenacious deliberation, talent, and of course, hard work.
Carats made 2017 the SVT's year but can we make this 2020 also the year of SEVENTEEN? It's time for the world to see the potential and beauty that these 13 boys convey through their talent. Carats always say that Seventeen is SEVENTEEN but when will carats become CARATS? It is not only to say that you are proud of your group, but also to make others recognize it. SEVENTEEN is a group that deserves all the appreciation of the world. It is very difficult to find true artists today and carats have the joy of having SEVENTEEN.

I've danced contemporary for the past 5 years (that's 5 out of ten years of dancing) and this is beautiful. It's not really the hardest type of dance but Hao's performance of it is stunning. All I can say is well done Hao, you made carats proud once again❤
Minghao has always been one of my favorite dancers in Kpop, period. There's something so unique and elegant about his movements, but at the same time so demanding and powerful. The way he expresses himself through his art (dancing, painting, photography, etc.) is the reason I feel so drawn to him, like we get to see a side of him that's not just the idol The8 from Seventeen

Minghao is incredible. Every contemporary art he has done is stunning. I really wish more people recognise how talented he is and just how much work he puts into everything. This piece and Falling Down are my absolute favourites

Minghao actually mentioned in one of his Yizhibo live last year that he was learning Contemporary dance and Folk (民族) dance, because he thought they suited his style. The choreographers for this dance besides him are eminent choreographer (Park) contemporary dancer (Cho) in South Korea. This is not to discredit the fact that he is the main drive and mastermind behind this artistic masterpiece and how courageous and inspirational it is of him to explore different artistic fields in a quest to improve himself every day, but I feel the need to clarify that what we are seeing is a result of thoughtful and tenacious deliberation, talent, and of course, hard work.
Carats made 2017 the SVT's year but can we make this 2020 also the year of SEVENTEEN?
It's time for the world to see the potential and beauty that these 13 boys convey through their talent.
Carats always say that Seventeen is SEVENTEEN but when will carats become CARATS? It is not only to say that you are proud of your group, but also to make others recognize it. SEVENTEEN is a group that deserves all the appreciation of the world. It is very difficult to find true artists today and carats have the joy of having SEVENTEEN.
Minghao is a work of art,his voice and his whole existence is art. I'm so proud of Minghao.

He is just a piece of living art and talent which i believe totally. No one can dance so gracefully with your heart poured in it but we have minghao and he proves everytime that he can do anything and i am highly impressed by him
I've danced contemporary for the past 5 years (that's 5 out of ten years of dancing) and this is beautiful. It's not really the hardest type of dance but Hao's performance of it is stunning. All I can say is well done Hao, you made carats proud once again❤

Minghao has always been one of my favorite dancers in Kpop, period. There's something so unique and elegant about his movements, but at the same time so demanding and powerful. The way he expresses himself through his art (dancing, painting, photography, etc.) is the reason I feel so drawn to him, like we get to see a side of him that's not just the idol The8 from Seventeen

보자마자 소름이 돋았던... 개인적으로 이제껏 봣던 명호의 퍼포먼스 중에 가장 경이로웠던 것 같다. 갑자기 올라온 영상에 놀라고 충격적인 퍼포먼스에 놀라고... 명호 춤 볼 때마다 중국에서 비보잉으로 엄청난 유망주였음에도 앞으로 비보잉 못할 거 감수하고도 연습생으로 한국 왔던 거 떠올라서 항상 울컥했는데, 원래도 알았지만 이 영상은 정말 THE8 퍼포먼스의 무궁무진한 가능성을 보여주고 있다고 생각이 든다...👍😹

minghao is such an amazing dancer. he’s learned the contemporary, most likely on his own, despite mainly dancing in the hip hop and b-boy genres. he adds his original dance style with the new style he’s learning. he’s been adapting to different dance styles than his own since he was a trainee, and he sure as heck does it well. i’m so soooOoooOoooOoOo proud of him. we love you, 8hao! 🥰💖💘💕❤️
