You’ve helped me through a lot mentally, I remember when I turned 15 I had asked my parents for your book ‘It gets worse’, I was so happy I cried :3 I read it all so quick gosh how much time has passed lol Now you’re a father and have started a beautiful family. It all really is a fairy tail that I am thankful to witness. We both have our own experiences, ranging from seeing a pig with human hands, to being stalked for years by a mysterious creature who lurks in the night. I watched the movie Temple Grandin. It’s a true story about a woman with autism. The squeeze machine is something she made to help her calm down. It looks a lot like the thing you put cows in to inoculate them.

We learned about it in school
autistic person here- i can provide context. some autistic people have meltdowns (they’re not tantrums, these are not within their control) and one of the ways that people sometimes cope is weighted blankets or pressure of some kind. this is called sensory seeking, and it’s not exclusively for meltdowns, however finding sensory stimulation is hugely helpful for autistic people. neurotypical people do this as well, but not to the same extent. stimulation or stimming is something we all do! it’s a repeated motion or activity, whatever it may be.
meltdowns and panic attacks take a while to come down from, and some people have a hard time with it. so if you see an autistic person having a meltdown, make sure they are safe and that they have an outlet or sensory item that they can use to help cope :)
