Same ๐๐ these nail KRplusrs are right when they say having a cleanup brush and acetone actually makes a world of a difference. My cleanup brush is an old makeup brush but I recommend getting one dedicated for nails so it doesn't fray from the acetone
IKR, even if I apply liquid latex for just a basic one color nail (i have shakey left hand which is nondominant so its better to apply it) I still get it in my cuticle or on the sides of my fingers.

I was thinking the same thing. Like youโre applying a new layer of polish you should let the one under it dry in the first place but also like yeah if itโs wet with or without a top coat itโs gonna peel it up
She said around 11:00 that she was not adding a top coat or waiting for the base polish to dry because she was not instructed to do so.
I understand she wanted to follow the directions of the video and thatโs why she wasnโt adding a top coat or letting the polish dry before she put tape on but Iโm pretty sure the one nail that she messed up and then covered the whole thing in glitter wasnโt in the directions of the video either. She was doing so good at first and then it went downhill.

Since she keeps saying her own tutorials would be difficult to follow with only voice, I kinda want Ben to choose one of her own videos to do this with. He'd probably have to skip forward to the first step so Cristine couldn't go off the intro and remember which design it was.
When Christine was talking about wax paper, just remember that wax paper isnโt parchment paper. Parchment paper is okay in the oven, not wax paper.

I'm glad Cristine keeps pointing out that noone ever says anything about putting a topcoat on before proceeding to do nail art/tape designs. I didn't know that for years and years and always wondered by it always looked like shit. Or to peel off tape while the polish is wet. I had assumed you wait for it dry, and... you guessed it... it looked like shit.
Bet they just *assume* you knew to add a top coat. lmao I didn't even know you needed a base coat or a top coat until a few years ago when I started watching Simply. XD
when I used to do my nails, I never applied topcoat before something else like peeling. I would let the first coat dry fully, and then if using tape taking the excess stickiness in my hand so it does not stick too harsh on the nail and when you remove it it leaves the design without ruining the first coat.
Well the people who have been watching Cristine from before she showed her face know about a quick dry top coat and waiting for polish to dry between coats. Cristine used the cat clock to beat it into our brains that you gotta wait between steps. Have you watched her ooooolllllddddddd videos ? If you haven't you should definitely watch the ones she has from before she used her voice.

How long do you need to wait then? Because Iโve waited around 20 minutes until the polish seemed very dry and things still go wrong if itโs not sealed. I do usually use really cheap polish, so that may be a factor too.
@@lilliematthews7922 if I do anything on top of nail polish like that, I let it dry fully for at least 2 hours. 20 mins will still leave the underneath wet

I think a takeaway from this video (and the voiceover only trend in general) is more than just the importance of visuals, but that we must advocate for clear and precise instructions in tutorial videos. Those who cannot see the video and have to rely solely on the voice should still be able to carry out the task as well!
Yeh, like someone who may have visual impairments. The instructions were pretty clear but I think that she needs to include the fact that top coats and letting the polish dry is important becuz it seems like she left that out... But I have never watched it and with the power of editing we only say the nail art and not anything else.

I only learned how to start growing my nails last year, I was so afraid of getting c*vid that I stopped biting my nails by not putting my hands on my mouth. Before that I spent 19 years of my life dreaming with the day they would finally grow.
Also, taking care of them and always having nail polish on it helps a lot!
