    • @TheLocalLt
      @TheLocalLt 3 년 전 +1

      Tiger is only a quarter black and has never identified with that, his had tried to remove the idea of “inferiority” from him after people limed his house as a kid. Tiger is Buddhist not Christian and is quite conservative (despite his string of affairs, which largely stemmed from a mental breakdown after the death of his father, he also never wanted to be married and caved to corporate pressure to marry and have kids, but again that’s all got nothing to do with his politics). Tiger wanted acceptance at these traditionally conservative (and perceived racist, in some cases legitimately so) institutions, because in his and his father’s mind, that was the best way to show them up, not to put up a futile effort to dismantle them. Beat them at their own game (literally in this case).
      Btw Vijay did the exact same thing, although he grew up in Fiji.

They don't have the luxury to dedicate time and resources to sports like golf. A lot of black athletes feel they need a quick payoff to help their families out.
