I don't know when it happened but at some point QB's starting getting paid for their position instead of their results. Dak's results have been solid but he's not better than Wilson and should never be paid better than Wilson. Based off the "market" and what he's accomplished he's at BEST a $32-33 mill a year QB, can't see him being paid less than Cousins (who is MASSIVELY over paid), and maybe even less considering Ryan is only paid $30 mill and has made a SB. If I were the Cowboys I'd offer him 26-29 mill a year or let him walk. There's a very attractive back up that is making almost nothing right behind Dak. Contracts should be based off performance, not position. Dak hasn't proved anything yet. He was significantly less than good against teams with a winning record last year. That's all that matters. Preform big, get paid big. Consistently fail against winning teams and watch those $$$$'s drop.

Its not like he can hold out mid season and get a contract after july 15 negotiations stop he cant hold out and sign and extension in like week 2 of the nfl season cause he was tagged and the negotiation period stopped. If he didnt sign the tag holds out a year he looses like 32 million fully guaranteed and is fined on top of that only to have negotiations start again in February when the negotiation period reopens. A hold out from dak is just not logical.

i mean he was technically holding out from those virtual camps before he signed the tag. he was the last guy to sign the tag, so he was holding out. he could have just signed it, and still negotiate a deal. now i dont think they are gonna get one done even tho they have 2 weeks left. he had to sign it because if he waited to the last minute, they could have gotten petty and pulled the tag from him, making him a free agent right when the new season starts.

In the NFL it's pretty rare for a player to control negotiations. Teams can always move on since there's no shortage of talent waiting to get a chance. Especially this year with all the high caliber or decent qb's that were on the market. Cam is with the Pats now but they could have signed him which I think would have given them even more leverage over Dak compared to the Dalton signing. What it comes down to is that Dak is replaceable.

2 receivers over 1,000 yards and the 3rd I think between 600-800 yards. That makes for, at the least, the most prolific receiving output in Dallas Cowboy history. Also Amari is the ONLY Cowboy with 200 yard games with Dak being his QB on both occasions.

I totally agree dude I'm a die-hard Cowboys fan. I wish Romo had the offensive squad that Dak has going into this season. So many variables, but the offense does look like a beast. If the defense were on par with the offense, we'd pretty much be guaranteed a Super-Bowl spot. We'll see what happens. It all depends on Dak.

I think the BIGGEST reason why Dak's offense produced more than any other is because Offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is a former QB that is not "conservative" like Garrett was. Garette gave Moore the play calling. If more had Romo then we would have seen the same thing (2) 1,000 receivers maybe 3 with a younger Whitten. You have to go back to Chan Gaily to get a similar mindset. All the other head coaches: Wade Phillips (defensive guy), Bill Parcells (defensive guy), Dave Campo (defensive guy), even Switzer and Johnson were all methodical game planners.
