- According to a report, there are some NBA players who are hesitant to restart the season in Orlando with 22 total teams. The league and players association are reportedly agreeing on a deal that would allow any players to stay home but they would not get paid. Here why Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe agree that while players shouldn't be concerned if they don't have underlying health conditions, it will still be a tricky experiment for the NBA to accomplish.

Not every player loves the game that much. Some see basketball as just a job. People forget more than half the league are role players.
Exactly and the definition of role players can range from almost all-star to the 14th guy on the team. They ain't have no "legacy" that's worth risking their life for
Those same role players also don’t want to lose their jobs, especially, if the NBA made some transfers from other leagues as Shannon eluded to.
It’s a tough decision to make! Both emotionally and financially for players.
So if they see ball as a „job“ then they should do the same thing as normal workers and resign from their „job“! If I would tell my boss that I aint coming to work due to corona I would be replaced by some other bum

KeytusDev so it goes back to what Shannon said if they are healthy and don’t have any conditions or any other important family matters such as a child birth or similar matters of the same magnitude then it becomes a very difficult decision.
Not to mention you are asking them to move away for 6 to 8 weeks without seeing their families.
I get if the NBA wants to give them a leave without pay that’s understandable according to the circumstances but at the same time they should be able to maintain their job.
It’s fair and more importantly it has some common sense.
That been said, Shannon didn’t specifically say that the offer is structured for them to lose their jobs if they declined attending this season, he did allude to it though.

There's nothing to fear but fear itself... There's no risk other than the risks that are a normal part of life.
Even when the deal became official I was never 100 % certain that the season would restart, a lot can happen in the span of 2 months. I hope and still believe that the NBA will start on the 31st of July, but can’t say so for certain. Main fear is a star player testing positive and then having to self isolate in the playoffs. Imagine LBJ not being able to play during the WCF or NBA Finals?
