Why are we still playing the anthem at the games anyway? I can see if it was an olympic time event that represented the entire country, but it isn't. No player in the league can complain about Adam Silver has done as commissioner. Sure, they can disagree on some things (like playing in the bubble) but even then, Adam gives them the option to sit out. If he was any more lenient, it would be a free for all. The ONLY gripe players could have is when the Warriors owner shoved Kyle and he got fined less than what players have been fined in the past (in fines + loss income through suspensions) for similar behavior. I agree with Skip on this one but I also understand Shannon when he says Silver will wait to hear all the representative's opinions before he formally picks a side about the anthem.

Re: Skip's thought about why didn't Adam Silver specifically say "Whatever the players want, we will do it."
I think the fact that he didn't say that is evidence to support Shannon's point that Silver gets it and is with the players. Consider... Silver could have said what Skip suggested, but that throws the players and the players association under the bus at that point... because IF they don't do something, people know it was them... if they do something, people know it was them. I feel like Silver was thinking to preserve the unity of the NBA by specifically not saying anything that hasn't already been discussed and agreed to by the league and the players association. And, as Shannon said, I think Silver has earned credibility to believe that he will listen and be on the side of players in these situations... and he doesn't want to accidentally step in something that throws players under the bus if they don't decide to go the way he suggested.

If the NBA restart the 2019- 2020 season that championship will be the weakest in the history of the league. They should wait until October to start the 2020 - 2021 season, it's right around the corner.

This 2019 - 2020 NBA season should be canceled anyway. If they restart the 2019- 2020 season in August, when will the 2020 - 2021 NBA season start and end? The NBA season usually starts in October. Restarting this the 2019 -2020 season is dumb and whoever wins the title it should have an asterisk with it and not count towards their legacy.
