Simone Biles misses out on becoming 'millionaire forever' by Olympic withdrawal

- Sky News host Paul Murray says he does not fault US gymnast Simone Biles for pulling out of the Olympics but the idea of her getting the "same level of endorsements" as the person who was able to perform on the day is "not fair and not right".
This comes following the American gymnast citing mental health concerns prompting her to sit out of the team finals on Tuesday.
"It's a big difference from where the culture was just in 1996," Mr Murray said.
"When, yes, an American gymnast who had an injured foot was able to win a gold medal for herself and her team because she pushed through the pain.
"It doesn't mean she's a better person than Simone Biles - she has strength by admitting what happened.
"But which one of those two is the millionaire forever, we'll see."
People are forgetting about the person who actually lost out on a slot to compete because of her
No one is forgetting about that. Trust me.

Simone who? Congrats to the real champ Sunisa Lee who did win the gold in woman's gymnastic all-round.
Yes, let’s remember her! 🎉🎉🎉🇺🇸
Rebeca Andrade from Brazil got silver in all around and gold in the vault.
The difference? She isn't a spoiled brat like Simone, she had 4 surgery in her knee, came all alone to compete as SINGLE gymnast.
She is from a very poor family, need to walk hour to the gym where she trained, her brother give up soccer so he could walk with her, and not let her go alone.

@@Thabo616 These people are ideologues. I suspect they are trying to make some political/cultural point that they are too cowardly to openly state. Biles may have pulled out of this Olympics due to mental issues, but there is no denying she's a great champion and statistically is the greatest American gymnast of all time. Obviously, she's not the same competitor anymore, but that doesn't mean we should trash her. She represented the USA well in the past and won 4 gold medals. @Slavery is Freedom, War is Peace that's happen to every other athlete that competing on this Olympic, yet they still tried their best, and not just quit, what's your point?
Exactly. Defeat starts between the ears.
@Slavery is Freedom, War is Peace You can't tell these people anything, they're evil and delusional.
When a criminal tries to break your legs at the knee with an iron pipe and severely injures you, as was the case with Nancy Kerrigan the great figure skater, that's a reason to withdraw from competition. But if you lose in your own head and not on the field, that's still losing by a loser.
says the guy behind a keyboard. i also believe she quit because she didnt want to lose fair and square so it was easy to walk away. cant remember what runner act like his hamstring got pulled after he clearly couldn't win that race but the entitled folks think that only they should win and its ok for the loser to stick around and celebrate my win. imagine if this mental health nonsense existed 100 years ago how much it would have affected society progress ...
@@bjvu9460 Usain Bolt, 2017 World Champsionship. The "Oh, it's my hamstring" ego play is quite common in football (soccer in the United States of America)--I got tired of seeing it by the time I was ten years of age it was that ubiquitous. No, you were not beaten fair-and-square on that one play, race, competition because you were "injured;" rather, it was because that other individual was faster, better, quicker, more explosive, et cetera than you. Sure, you could be having an "off day" or you could actually be injured--I have had plenty of those, which required my efforts needing to be even better and my energy being more selective to match or exceed my optimally performance level so that it was not glaringgly obvious to the competition that I was having an "off day;" otherwise, it would create a tremendously even longer day for me, as exposing my weaknesses so willingly on the pitch and/or off the pitch could sets up catastrohpic loss and further need for recovery--but none of this mitigates or dampens the other person's having a well-deserved and incredible day to shine.
Oh she’ll be fine… there’s always room at Nike for the stunning and brave.
She’ll make money. US media is already calling her “brave” so she’ll get hers based on that.
That sounds like a bunch of 💩
Yup, weakness is the new strength. Watch America crumble.
Call her brave or whatever, let the media and woke politicians spin it anyway they can, but the elite level gymnasts the world over truly understand how beyond the pale her behavior was. Not only selfish but cowardly. This will haunt her the rest of her life.
...the new "woke" brave. We all know what that means. Shame !
SHE MUST BE A "DEMONRAT"...LOL...BUT TRUE
Surely Bile's fans, sponsors and team mates would be disappointed at the unsporting poorly timed withdrawal, of a placement that another gymnast could have made better use of?
but, they don't teach sportsmanship anymore. EVERYONE gets a prize and usually it's the same prize. ugh.
I give her about a week before she starts playing the R card.
If Simone wasn't up to Preform shouldn't have gone to the Olympics.
The girl is already loaded, multi millionaire, nice cars, huge house, owner of World Champions Gymnastics centre in Texas. What she did the other night was something i have never witnessed, and ive been involved in the sport since the 70's. No one is talking about the mental anguish her inexperienced team mates must of felt when she told them, mah, not feeling it today, its all on you guys. Disgraceful act!
I think she's ruined her career. THIS will become what she's known for.
Wonder how much $$$ she made to throw the match.
You know that changed the betting odds around the world.
She will be a millionaire for life.
Hope not!
@Nworb Sitruc
Hilarious!
I heard someone suggest that Biles bailed out because she knew she could not beat Suni Lee at this tournament that went on to win gold.
I thought that too. She is losing her edge. But instead of admit it she does this BS. Also she's on adhd meds that is not allowed there..
No she was forced out behind closed doors so Sunni Lee could win. It will come out later. For some reason I.S. is kissing Asians asses!! When they should be held accountable for Covid.
Champions don’t quit, that’s what sets them apart.
Now it's 'Brave & Stunning' to be a self-centered quitter, and hang your teammates out to dry because of your 'feelings'. Good riddence!
You never lose your skill, just your nerve, and you never get that back
she should have gotten right back on that horse and ridden it to the end of the race!
You nailed that on the head and. She will never get that back
She didn’t look stressed out at all in the interview. There’s a rumor out there that she’s failed a performance enhancing drugs test and was given a way out.
That's my suspicion as well.."mental issues" just doesn't make much sense considering that every time she competes before this there's always pressure//
She had all possible medical exemptions to take them all and she's done it for years without problems! Would that be something to do with the recreational substances?
There’s a rumour the earth is flat . That doesn’t make it so .
Well you'd know! So it must be true.
@@jakeg3296 Stop it,you're just being rational. You can't confuse me with your facts and figures.
She bottled it. It cost the rest of the team.

It's sad that she has gotten caught up in that whole woke movement...she believed the hype surrounding her
She would have been better off staying humble and focusing on her skill and team
Instead she as many woke individuals do...if they can't have it they will walk away
For her to then use the new work catch phrase...mental health...really is a disservice to those with mental health issues, but don't use it as an excuse
She knew she wouldn't win so she crapped out. It's called cowardice.
In school I was crap at sport - and the teachers used to say "It's not about winning - it's about taking part" - Well, Biles didn't even manage that!
She put that pressure on herself when she decided to add a GOAT (🐐) on her uniform.
These athletes want all the smoke (and admiration) of being the greatest of all time, until that same smoke makes them choke 😂🤣
She's the most dominant, most decorated gymnast (male/female) in history! Like it or not, as of right now, she is the greatest of all time. She has nothing to prove to any of you people. And btw, didn't they change the scoring system just for her b/c she's so dominant above all her competitors? How many of you haters were incensed over that?
All her accomplishments are besmirched by her quitting the Olympics like a coward when things didn't go her way.
@@jihDCchillin That's your opinion. Some people agree with you and some don't. That's why your opinions don't matter.
@@J_LeeChannel ...not my opinion, Jay. She uncharacteristically withdrew from a gold medal event because she knew she wasn't going to win gold, meaning she quit. Facts. Keep d riding that loser if you want buddy 😂
@@jihDCchillin It looks like my comment got deleted, but you missed the point, Einstein. My point was for some people her reputation is tarnished, and for others, it's not. The fact remains she is the most dominant, most decorated gymnast in history. And until someone comes along and beats her records, she will continue to be. And that's why your opinions don't matter. I am curious about something, though. If Michael Phelps would've quit b/c his scores were changed to prevent him from appearing to be so dominant, would you have the same opinion about him?
Courage is shown when we fall but determine to get up and finish.
Yes, we go on and continue no matter what stands in the way. Never quit.
Have you done that ? What is your badge of courage?

Something is going on that we don’t know about I’m sure ...but I’m sure it will come out eventually.. a gymnist of that caliber does not fall apart that quickly and easily ... somethings up just wait for it...😏
Steroids. She took more than was officially permitted in her case of therapeutic exemptions. Its hash hash situation and can't go official as yet while Russia gets punished.
I 100% agee
She and The Dastardly Duo of Montecito will go on tour.
That is so funny!
Don't forget osaka.
Yes, Orca will give her an interview.
Yes after all ,M is a genius and could compete in any event she chose to,according to hubby😉😉😉🤣🤣🇦🇺
She'll fit in just fine.
A prima donna of the highest quality.
Kerri Strug competed with a severe ankle injury in ‘96 and stuck her landing on one foot helping her team to win gold. Kerri is a winner.
She can't be criticized and we all know why, but no-one can say it.
#TRUTH!!
Will the headline by her detractors read
“Biles Ducked For Cover”
Speaking of ducks..."My bile duct is acting up again!"
She took a spot that could have been given to someone else. All those advertisers should drop her. You get to this point- you don’t bail - should have pulled out prior to going to Tokyo.I am sorry for the mental health as I know what that is like but it is not like these athletes can’t afford the best sports psychologist possible. This is the supreme example of going woke and how it messes with people mentally.
She has enough gold medals to keep her on the ad list. She won't look for a job like you.
All of y’all are bashing her but she has a lot of pressure on her and u can see she was Anxious in her performances give her a break
Are you ripping on some one but playing victim yourself? Simone gave her spot to her team mate who would have missed out otherwise... derrrrr
Who cares. However, I would never hold her up as a role model.
"Quitters never win, winners never quit." One of Simone Bails' coaches should've imparted that to her.
She was out classed by the Russians and knows she couldn't compete with them.
being political has become more important than doing your actual JOB! Failing Society!!!
Fact!
I suppose it is better to withdraw before losing, than actually losing.
That's not how we better ourselves.
So stop trying just because we are losing Lord glad we didn't do that at Dunkirk. The higher you fly the harder the landing
In another sport I would agree with you all, but people have broken their spines and bones and have been permanently injured in gymnastics if you’re not confident you can perform it’s safer not to, one bad performance can mean death or been paralysed..

Artur Dalaloyan blew out his Achilles, gets surgery, 3 months later he wins gold.
She quit. At the moment the team needed her the most, she quit. Threw them under the bus and said i quit!!! Uses her black privilege to avoid accountability for quitting and blames everything else on why she Quit.
She made a major mistake on vault. One of her most comfortable events out of the 4. She knew she wasn't going to be able to perform her best and probably would've made massive faults on both beam and bars as a result. If she was to continue and had made those likely mistakes it definitely would've taken the team out of the medals completely since all 3 performances on each event count to the total. Her 'quitting' and 'letting her team down' in what people perceive as the forefront but in reality she probably saved the other girls, especially for Jordan and Grace who aren't in any other finals, their only chance at any medal. Just as in 2008 when Alicia had fallen and cost the team gold, the media and public had dragged that girl and blamed her completely. If Simone had continued and cost the medal entirely I could only imagine the uproar of the public. At the end of the day, with or without Simone, the Russian team had qualified in 1st and performed an almost perfect set of events and deserve the gold.
@@declanlindsay7558 call it, excuse it however 😏 different ways you want, but the fact that she quit cannot be forgotten. She walked away by a couple of tumbles? That's what winners don't do. They go back a do it again to show that it wasn't a bid deal, but she got "scared"? and Quit.
@Richard Charles So quitting is never okay? Even if it costs 3 girls a potential medal and also risks herself in the process? If she had continued and had the same mental block as she did on vault she could've been risking her life. I don't care if she had quit. I'd prefer someone to take care of themselves rather than trying to maintain a certain image or legacy to please the public while risking serious or fatal injuries to herself. It's insane to expect people to do that just because they happen to be an elite athlete.
@Richard Charles yeah nah i saw this bloke in the swimming finals and he quit after a few laps and his team mate had to jump in and swim... and then he quit.... - listen you fucking moron Simone is the best there ever has been, no one has yet beaten her scores, so don't make an idiot of yourself by claiming she has no competitive drive - this was a TEAMS event which she was still a part of right through to the end, just because she gave her spot to 1 of the other 5 girls doesn't effect the team.... that's why Simone still got a medal.
@@andrewbyronloveshire5209 she quit on the team!!!!!! There's no excuse for that. Call it as you like, she quit. Plain and simple.
