The squad was more suited to him (more workers in it) & the league was weaker, he'd have finished top 4 till Guardiola & Klopp arrived at a minimum. Might not have prevented the decline but it would've slowed it down, going from 1st to 7th in one year caused a panic chain reaction that they've still not recovered from today.

Was this the moment the general football audience started to soften toward the Special One? I've noticed that he's much more liked now after his Man Utd stint. Probably because we saw how the 'arrogant winner' handled failure and all in all, he handled it pretty well. When he did his spell in punditry it seemed the fans really started to see just how good his football brain was and how much he loved the game.

This man really did a damn good job at United and he deserves the highest praise. The sh*t that was going on behind the scenes.. the way the club was functioning every single thing was going wrong and Mou for me did his best to make things better in terms of how the players performed on the pitch but even then the media kept on slandering him week after week it was really shameful. Mourinho for me will always be one of the best managers our club ever had in a difficult period.

The media are acting like 2 losses is the end of the world and it’s disgusting that they get to put a manager of Mourinho’s calibre under pressure like this. I’m an Arsenal fan and he gets my upmost respect every time because like he said he is one of the best managers in the world.
It hasn't just been the 2 losses, it has been how they have been playing for the past 2 years, he specifically mentioned the Sevilla game where United were awful. United are such a boring team to watch now and that in part is due to how Jose sets his teams up to play.
