Following the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, itโs time to think about its follow-up, Episode 9. Ahead of its release in 2019, hereโs what we know about the final film in the new Skywalker trilogy.
Star Wars: Episode IX is an upcoming 2019 film set to be directed by J.J. Abrams from a script by Abrams and Chris Terrio. It will be the third and final film in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. The film, produced by Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, is expected to see the return of many of the characters featured in 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which Abrams also directed and co-wrote, and 2017's Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
The film was first announced after The Walt Disney Company acquired Lucasfilm in 2012. Colin Trevorrow was initially announced as the director and writer of the film, but he and Lucasfilm parted ways in September 2017, with Lucasfilm citing "creative differences" over the project. Abrams and The Last Jedi writer and director Rian Johnson were both considered leading contenders for the job from major media outlets, with Abrams being announced on September 12, 2017.
Filming is expected to begin in July 2018, with a release scheduled for December 20, 2019.

But one of them has never made an appearance: the Soul Stone. But thatโs not stopped the internet from coming up with some truly insane theories about it, though.
Is itโs Tony Starkโs Armor?
This is a very recent theory that primarily came from a leaked piece of promo art for Infinity War. All six Infinity Stones (usually referred to as gems in the comics, but Marvel really doesnโt want you to call them that anymore) got a poster of its own, with images of MCU heroes refracted in each of them. The orange Soul Stoneโs power featured Tony right at the center of it... which some people believe means the stone is in Tonyโs latest fancy Iron Man armor somehow. Some argue itโs in Tonyโs arc reactor; some argue that maybe Tony is literally the stone himself.
In the comics, Adam Warlock has had a long, important history with the Infinity Stones, and the Soul Stone in particular. This is why fans have long expected him to make an appearance in connection to the Soul Stone in Infinity War.
Infinity War was initially set for release on April 27, 2018, but has now been moved forward to April 26 in the UK. Whilst the American release was originally set for May 4th (unofficial Star Wars day), a Twitter exchange between Iron Man AKA Robert Downey Jr and Marvel Studios revealed that the release has also been moved forward. The second film, Avengers 4 - currently known as โUntitled Avengers Sequelโ - will be released on May 3, 2019.

People get confused and think this is for a new movie. Smasher always gets tons of dislikes because the concept/smashed trailers are mixed in with the official ones.
