There was never really a doubt about 13 Reasons Why getting a second season.
What will 13 Reasons Why Season 2 be about?
The show will pick "up in the aftermath of Hannah Baker's death," according to Netflix, "and the start of the characters' complicated journeys toward healing and recovery." Yeah, that's very vague and open-ended, but the good news is we have some ideas on what all that could look like, and those involved with the show haven't been shy about speculating. Said Brian d'Arcy James, Hannah's onscreen dad: "There's certainly a lot more road to be traveled in terms of where the Bakers go from here... in terms of having to deal with that loss, deal with that grief, and channel it and try to make peace with it -- or not." In light of the Sonya casting development above, it seems safe to bet on a new legal subplot expanding.
Showrunner Brian Yorkey has hinted we could see different perspectives of past storylines. "There are other people who might want to tell [Hannah's story] differently or who are players in that story who might have a different perspective on some of those events," he said at a recent Netflix panel. "Season 2 will see us look at a lot of the events that we think we know how they went down and maybe learn they're more complicated than first we thought, and that Hannah herself is even more complicated than we saw in Season 1."
And a number of present-day cliffhangers need to be resolved, including those involving Mr. Porter, the school counselor who had a chance to save Hannah on the last day of her life; Jessica, Hannah's ex-best friend who's recovering from her rape; Bryce, the jock whose confession of assault looks poised to ruin him; Justin and Tyler, both of whom leave Season 1 with guns; Sheri, who dodges the consequences of her actions; Clay, who rekindles his friendship with Skye; and, most importantly, Alex, who's fighting for his life.
Why would a dead girl lie? 13 Reasons Why is now streaming only on Netflix. Based on the best-selling books by Jay Asher, the Netflix Original Series 13 Reasons Why follows Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) as he returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker-his classmate and crush-who tragically committed suicide two weeks earlier. On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. I do indeed think Alex shot himself. I don't think he was shot. Why? He cleaned his room. It was made a point earlier on that he was a bit messy. That's a sign. One that's easy to miss, but signs of suicide often can be easy to miss.
-A- -A- I forgot his name too. I think you are lead to believe the kid got guns to shoot him, but I honestly think he did himself. He was acting rather depressed at the end of the season. I think the stalker (is it Trevor maybe?) intends to shoot up the school

Heather Wright my theory is that Alex shot himself and that Tyler is planning on shooting everyone on the tapes because he was basically bullied by almost everyone. Clay was the only one who stood up for him so thatβs why we donβt see a photo of Clay when he takes down the photo of Alex (probably he did that because Alex already shot himself?). Plus in the ambulance scene I donβt think it was Alex there, but Justin because, first of all, you can see a little bit of his hair and itβs not blond like Alexβs, but it has the same color as Justinβs. Also Justin was the first one on the tapes so it makes sense if Tyler shot him first. Plus we can see that he has plenty of guns, thatβs what I think he was going to use them for. I also noticed Alex cleaning his room as being a suicide sign, as his father pointed out that his room was clean too and otherwise it wouldβve been pretty pointless to put it on the show. Plus Hannah cleaned her room too before committing suicide. Also in the scene where Alex was laying in the pool he looked very depressed and it also mirrored Hannahβs suicide scene where she stood in the bathtub. And there were little signs during the show that Alex was maybe depressed which made sense why heβd want to end his life

am 15 years old and I just watched the show on Netflix. In 7th grade I struggled ton with mental illness. It took me a long time to feel happy and safe in my skin. The show took me back to the paranoia and the blame others head space. It honestly triggered my depression again. I noticed after I watched the show I'm not sleeping well and I don't laugh as much. It brings back all those old feelings. Its only been a couple days since I finished the show. But It took away my joy, and put me back in that headspace. I'm just glad now I have the ability to monitor and check myself if I feel like I'm sliping back. But I fear for those who don't. This show really disturbed me. I just need to remind myself it is okay to feel joy for yourself. You can only control of how you react to things.
My friend is sucidal and now I'm worried about both of us. She seems fine most of the time, but has a lot of medical issues. So she is constantly talking about them. Her actions are selfish and childish and attentition seeking. She refuses to take care of her body by eating better despite the fact that she has diabeties and celiac disease. And is on a destructive path. She blames others for her promblems and refuses to take responsibility becasue she has so many health issues. She minimizes other people sufferings. Sometimes I think she cries just so we can comfort her. The friend group will get into a argument and she will start crying even if it is her fault. Then 2 hours later she is fine and running around. She had really low self esteem and says she is ugly constantly so we can tell her she is not. Just another self confidence issue. I'm really worried about her because she FaceTime me and told me how she's tried o kill herself and I don't know what to do because part of me feels like she's just saying this to get attention and part of me feels really scared for her because no matter what she's not going to listen she's very stubborn and I don't know what to do. I feel like I can't help her, becasue I'm trying to help myself. She acts like a normal happy teenage girl then does all these little things that show more than her morals are not in the right place then she is mentally ill. She is chosing not to take care of herself and wants to blame any event on the friends who try to help her. She is not considerate of others. For example today she asked me to go to her house but I live 35 minutes away. And she asked to hang out every weekend. I have asked if she wants to come to mine. But It is always me that comes to her house. I have been to her house probably 6 times. But she has only been to my house once. Little things like that. She gets mad at me when I say no, but never makes plans a couple days in advance. She is irresponsible and always flakes on dates and then complains about her grades. She thinks she is entitled to everything and is obsessed with guys. And I don't what to do. Yesterday her and another friend got in a fight over her adding my ex on snapchat. But she got mad when I did the sam back. So she went to guidance. When I asked what happened she said, "I went to guidance because Jess was making me feel sucidial." Sorry for the essay guys. I just don't know what to do.

Anna Enriquez I really liked this show too, I wish it had a happier ending, like Clay and Hannah getting together and Hannah never commits suicide. And I know a lot of people hate it, but I feel like a lot of people didnβt give it a fair chance. They said Hannahβs character was too sensitive, but all the things Hannah went through were awful, and yes some things were smaller then others but if you think about it all those small things add up to big things especially if the person has no one on their side to talk to and theyβre dealing with possible mental illness. Idk Iβm just waiting to see how season 2 will be. I hope itβs gonna be good.

At the time the first season of this show came out I noticed everyone at school be nicer to each other for a while, no one felt like they needed to kill themselves because they had a hard life. This show is a great way to make bullying stop.

On the original version of the book, before the author changed to where hannah does die, in the first version hannah lives.
I felt that way too, but I feel like the show works better as a cautionary tale, and leaves more of a lasting impact this way, vs. if she had survived. As much as it killed me because I fell in love with her character, I realize that not all stories are meant to have happy endings.
