Captain Marvel is a 2019 superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superheroine Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel. It is the twenty-first movie installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as the ninth installment of Phase Three.

Brie Larson's Captain Marvel, the newest character set to join the MCU, and a probable leader for the next generation of superheroes set to light up our screens. First off, it's all set to be a period piece taking place in the '90s, with Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury appearing in his pre-eyepatch form, potentially with an explanation as to what actually happened there.
Furthermore, Captain Marvel will be facing off against the Skrulls in the film, an alien race of shape-shifting green creatures; intriguing since they're traditionally seen as Fantastic Four villains, and so would presumably be under the ownership of Fox.
The superhero name Captain Marvel has a long and tangled history. New Line Cinema is preparing to start filming DC Comicsβ Shazam! (who was actually the first Captain Marvel), and Marvel Studios also has their own Captain Marvel movie scheduled for March 8, 2019. Even within Marvel, there have been multiple heroes called Captain Marvel, but the MCU Captain Marvel will be Carol Danvers (previously Ms. Marvel), to be played by Brie Larson.
Weβve known for a while that Captain Marvel would be something of an MCU prequel, as it will be set in the 1990s, feature the alien race the Skrulls as villains, and also Samuel L. Jackson as a younger Nick Fury. As a just-before-Thanksgiving shocker, the news broke that Jude Law will be the male lead in Captain Marvel, and heβs playing βDr. Walter Lawson.β That right there is sort of a big deal, because thatβs the name that the Kree alien named βMar-Vellβ took when he arrived on Earth. And rather coincidentally, Mar-Vell was a Captain. Mar-Vell has been right up there with Adam Warlock as one of the cosmic characters Marvel fans most want to see in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I'd rather see a trilogy like Iron Man and Thor of her starting out as Ms Marvel and then ending up as Captain Marvel. That is, after all, literally the entire point of her story.

Video was too long. Halfway through it, I got hungry so I left it playing and went to the kitchen to fix my self a sandwich. But then I found out that I'm out of mayonnaise so I went to a store. There, I saw the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my whole life. But I'm really a shy person so I took up a three-year personality development course so I can introduce my self. She was very friendly and all, but unfortunately, she has a boyfriend. So I said, all good, I'm a mature person. I want the best for her and I harbor no illusion that I am the best person for her and she seems happy with her boyfriend, so I did not bother her anymore. But we kept in touch and we became friends and I got over my crush on her. Then she broke up with her boyfriend, we drank some alcohol because of it, I told her she'll be fine and I wished her well. I still think she's the most beautiful woman in the world, but like I said, I am over my crush on her. It was like five years already when I first saw her. Besides, I am quiet happy with the friendship I developed with her. It was more important than a crush. So we kept hanging out, drinking, having coffee, and all. I had a girlfriend, she started dating other guys. My girlfriend wants to live some other life without me in it, so I said, okay, I want the best for you and I want you to pursue your happiness. My lady friend and I drank alcohol about it, and she gave me the same advice I gave her when she was in that position and I became okay with the breakup immediately. But we were really drunk, so she spent the night in my apartment. I only have one bed, so you know what that means: She took the bed and I slept on the couch. But on the couch, I really can't sleep. Something was bothering me. So I tossed and turned for about three hours, then I finally can't take it anymore, I stood up and went straight to my room where she's sleeping. I approached the bed, gently sat on it and I reached for her shoulder to pull her closer to me. She stirred and woke up. She asked what's up. I told her, you know, the first time I saw you, I was watching a video and left it playing to get my self a sandwich then went to the store to get some mayo then I got distracted by life that I forgot to finish the video. She said, you know what, I've been wondering about a weird noise in your night drawer. So we opened that drawer, and lo and behold, there's my phone and this video still has two minutes of play time on it.

SAD they choose someone not dynamically charismatic... Would have chosen someone with a physically stronger presence, lesser known name, but much more visually appealing in the blond gal category, like 5 10" Kristanna Loken (in Pain Jane, Terminator remake...)
Some comic book films really transcend the genre trappings and and become great cinema (like TDK), but it's rare. Generally, I think it's better to actually read the comics rather than make every single one live action movies, because reading actually forces the readers to use their imaginations and think whereas the films generally shut your brain off and do the imagining for you. And since less and less people read these days, that is concerning. If you haven't read The Watchmen and you enjoy comic movies....read it asap. Like Batman films? Read the Frank Miller batman comics or The Killing Joke.

Atomic Celestial Captain Marvel was his original name and it was still used, just not in the titles and promotional material after DC bought the character from Fawcett. After the New 52 reboot, the DC stopped using the Captain Marvel name.

the similarity of the story arc between Carol Danvers and Hal Jordan of the Green Lantern Corp is uncanny. Not to mention the cringeworthy moment when I heard of the name Mar-Vell of Kree and the situations when DC had to change their own to Shazam instead. this similarities is in dire need of a mashups of both universe. Her ass isn't flat, it fills in the thick suit quite well but after seeing Black Widow's back side so much it does make Brie's look lacking.

It sucked so badly that it's the biggest grossing DCEU film to date (I don't count the Nolan Bat-flicks because they are not part of the continuity). Except for the final fight, which left something to be desired, the movie was excellent. It actually developed her character, it told us about the Amazons in general, it took the risk of killing off Steve Trevor, which was huge. It didn't suck, in fact, it was awesome.
