Deadpool 2 is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Deadpool, distributed by 20th Century Fox. It is intended to be the twelfth installment in the X-Men film series, and a sequel to the 2016 film Deadpool. The film is being directed by David Leitch from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, with Ryan Reynolds starring in the title role alongside Morena Baccarin, T. J. Ryan Reynolds is reprising his role as the Merc with a Mouth alongside Zazie Beetz as the luck-manipulating mutant Domino and Josh Brolin as Cable, the time-traveling son of the X-Menβs Cyclops. Jack Kesy (The Strain, Baywatch) is attached to play the filmβs central villain, which, while unconfirmed, is rumored to be Irish mutant Black Tom Cassidy. Japanese actress Shioli Kutsuna and Julian Dennison (Hunt for the Wilderpeople) have also joined the film in mystery roles.

OK question. If Domino is supposed to be cleverly the opposite colour of the comic book version, and the comic book version is freakishly white with a black patch, why is this Domino just plain chocolate milk with a white patch? Why isn't her skin unnaturally pitch black?

I dont care if she's black but at least make her LOOK like the actual character...Nick Fury and Kingpin from the first daredevil movie are examples of characters with a switch of race that doesn't really have an impact on the character. DOMINO has bleached skin with a black spot over her eye. A very specific and iconic look. Hell I personally think it would have been cooler to have a black Cable.

I think that the main reason for the casting of Domino is maybe (just a wild guess): A) with Cable coming in they could be doing a time travel thing where we would see the future, and like in the comics Deadpool may have a black daughter and Domino being black with be the most likely mother. So they'd get nerd points for some continuity and maybe expectation subversion by having Deadpool's daughter being black. Or B) In later later movies cause we know they have a whole time line plotted out maybe they'll have Deadpool having a daughter/finding his daughter/ something with his daughter be a point in the plot if not the whole plot, and once agin I believe Domino would be the mother in this situation. But thats just a theory, A game.... i mean movie theory.

When they cast Zazie Beetz as Domino I had faith they would make it work. Now that I see what they did with the character I feel the same way I did when I saw the picture of the Inhumans cast. Its not a good feeling.

I was fucking elated when I heard Domino was going to be in the movie. Finally! Full disclosure, I'm pretty much like all these Harley Quinn fans when it comes to such a character. Zazie Beetz was cast and like yourself, I thought they'd get it to work. I mean, her being black wasn't really going to be an issue and besides, she was decent in Easy, so why not? As soon as I saw the photo, I thought "Fuck this movie." I'm not going to see it.
Basically, with the little make-up and the afro, they've turned the character from Domino into Sassy Black 74. I'm highly confident that the sometimes funny, but sarcastic and daring trickster with personality, is probably just going to be reduced to giving sass throughout the movie with a rather unlikable disposition. I mean, there's the photo, in addition to the director claiming that he wants her to be able to quip back against Reynolds to balance the movie out. Yea... fun times right there.
When I heard domino was gonna be in I was so fucking happy then they casted her with a black chick and I was like..... Ok so they are just gonna go ahead and paint her white interesting but she must have got the part for a reason... Then I saw her outfit and what they were doing.... At that point I lost all faith and have since written this movie off it's gonna suck.
Actually, she's not "Albino." She's even been portrayed as having cream colored skin. So it's unnaturally white as a result of her (And her brother's) mutation. The same way Blink is pink, or Mystique is blue. Think about that... Nightcrawler walking around and not being the "Blue elf" and just being a cookie cutter stereotype of a dudebro, no piety, no compassion, no none of that, just stripped him of everything that would make him "Nightcrawler" but keeping the name. That's basically what they're doing here and the fact that the actress is black has nothing to do with it. It's basically an executive (Or the director) trying to show everyone how "Woke" they are. The bitter taste in my mouth, is that Zazie Beetz is trying to be an activist about it.
She was seriously off my radar until then, as I merely saw her as an actress who was playing a role and nothing more, as she didn't write the script or make major decisions, she's just doing her job by putting on the costume. However, my major bone of contention with this movie, and another huge reason as to why I won't see it, is because the first one was so great because everyone involved loved the character and source material, sacrificing a lot to get the movie made because of that love. Whereas now, the same executives who told those people to "Get fucked" for nine years and had such little faith in the movie that they were cutting the already paltry budget as they were filming it, because they thought the money would be better spent elsewhere... now see a cashcow and think they know what people want to see, completely disregarding the first one, as they call all the shots. I've seen this happen enough times to know that it's going to go sideways and this whole Domino thing is like having the ability to see Catwoman unfurl instead of finding out IN the theatre.
Also, full disclosure, I was pretty tiffed that Vanessa wasn't white in the first one. The not having elf ears is one thing, but not being white? I appreciate the white streak in her hair as a nod, but still.

My feelings on this actor playing Domino was just thoroughly explained. Thank you. While I'm one of those people who hates to see characters change I can deal with it if the actors can pull it off or have the right look and I just don't see it with this actor. Especially since she could be really dark and then have a white spot which would set her apart from the comics Domino and still look absolutely awesome but what I see just looks like a basic, shit, lazy version of Domino.

There have been movies a plenty with white Egyptians, white super heroes that were supposed to be black, books where the black character has been exchanged with a white character, even in the last airbender a show Nickelodeon had that expressed diversity KATARA was played by a white girl, not black as she was in the show. When anime is portrayed in live adaptations....those people that do it are usually white and not Asian as the part portrays in the cartoon. Heck most of the characters in anime are Asian besides the rare oh here is the American, but white people often claim it like that is them being portrayed on the screen. Black people can also be albino so this oh no it's not racism it's just not the character I was hoping for stuff is crap!!!! I honestly have nothing against an African American playing the role of Domino. What I am pissed about is an actor who did not take the necessary steps to look like the character she is trying to portray. Things such as wearing body paint to match the chalk white skin tone, and cutting her hair shorter and straightening it to match the character's hair style.

Marvel have gone mad SJW on comics and now our belowed Albino-white spy has been replaced with black woman. You don't understand how much it hurts to wait for years and years in hopes to finally see X-Force characters ganging up on silver screen.
This movie has all 3 my absolute favorite X-Force fellas, Deadpool is portrayed perfectly, Cable has looks pretty much there but then Domino... Well if you were Deadpool fan back in -11 like I were you could imagine the dissapointment when seeing Origins last fight scenes.
Well Domino here does same effect, were she good or bad in the role it'll always gonna be so that this is someone else than Domino 'cause her main attribute (being basically albino) is over ruled.
Deadpool in Origins weren't Deadpool to me and I doubt that I will see her as Domino due the esthetics alone.
Now she might be badass side-kick but not Domino in my eyes.

comics fan especially those who are really fans tends to connect with the characters and when movie change the characters it's like they are changing someone special in their life, I mean they want to see the comic character they love in the big screen without them changing the character, it's not about racism but,that is not the comics domino, it's a whole new different character and that's what scare and annoy us not because of race but because of change.

With the way she was drawn in the early days. And frankly if you really wanted to get brownie points for diversity. An Asian Person would have been a better choice. If anything Black People are overly represented in Hollywood. As for the actress. I have no idea how good she is. All she done is a few TV Shows i don't have any interest in.
