I can't believe how much pain this woman is set to go through during her whole life. For years I've been relying on her songs to go through my darkest times and I hope that like me, a lot of people are inspired everyday by how strong she is. As much as she gives us hope, we should show her our love and respect. Taeyeon is a beautiful person, a reliable support for everyone who knows her. She has the biggest heart, she's clever, kind, genuine and pure. "I love myself, I trust myself" and so we do.

You can't have a plant without a seed to plant, water and take care of it. It simply means that she's reminding us to love and trust yourself. You can't find someone if you can't stand on your own feet, that's why telling herself to love herself means a lot. Yes, no one is an island, but remember that not everyone is always there for you, and even your shadow leaves you in the darkness (not literal meaning) that's why it is highly important to love yourself more even if you love somebody else. Always reserve for youself to avoid feeling empty and lonely. Only you have the roots of yourself and not somebody else. Hahaha that's my thoughts about the song.

Another thing is that this song conveys us to love ourself to avoid depression and anxiety, especially nowadays that suicides are getting numerous and even kpop celebrities are doing that.

I have a friend who loves k-pop. We met at someone's birthday and started bonding after we found out the other liked BTS (and k-pop in general). Right now she's going through a hard time and really needs to hear this. She's tried to end it multiple times and self-harms. She's lost nearly all hope. I desperately want her to live and to understand how much I love and care about her and want her here and others do too. I wish she would listen to this song. I love Wendy but like water is the most boring song I have ever heard and it's just such a bad start for soloist
the tracklist arrangement in the repackaged album for the first three songs was brilliant in setting the tone of the album, as it tells a story in itself. This was the first song, which conveyed positivity in darkness, and trusting in herself. The next song (My Tragedy) however, throws the listener headfirst into despair, describing herself in darkness. The third song (Here I Am) lays down her bare feelings, almost in a helpless state, pleading for help by her saying "here i am" in the chorus repeatedly. this was by far the most ominous sounding song in the three. it felt to me like she is aware of the state that she's in, so she sings Dear Me as a reminder for herself when she eventually falls into that undesirable state, that things will be okay again. My Tragedy and Here I Am represents the dark state that she eventually falls back into.
now that i think about it, the story continues into the fourth and fifth songs as well. the fourth song (Spark) is describing a fire growing inside herself which grows and eventually allows her to fly, which can be taken as a phoenix coming back from the dead, or escaping the dark place. i take this as taeyeon finding a source of strength or Purpose (actually the album title) to fight on in life, which allows her to rise and fly away. the fifth song (Find Me) describes her flying free high in the sky towards that Purpose, and calling for others to "don't stop flying until you find me". basically saying, i've found my purpose, i want everyone to find theirs so that they may fly towards them.

This song... It's just simply amazing. No complicated sounds. No complicated dance steps. Just pure vocals and feelings. It gave me goosebumps from the start to the end.
And to you, whose randomly reading this... I want you to know that you're an amazing person but you also have to remember that its okay not to be okay sometimes. Its okay to say "it's not fine" when you're sad or upset. Not everyday is a good day and its okay. Just do what you love to do and live a life without hesitations. Laugh as if you've never laugh before, live as if its your last day and say "I love you/I appreciate you/I'm sorry" etc. to those important people in your life before its too late.

@@emotionalsaatori6102 From my own experience, depression comes and goes. There are days that you're happy and days that you're just sad and low for some unknown reason but that's life. We have to accept that not everyone is strong and that sometimes we are weak. And its not easy to find people who really cares but I hope you find one who really cares and understand. You're not alone and you're not different. You'll be included in my prayers.

I am really worried for your mental health. My girlfriend has a very serious depression, her psychiatrist said that it was a miracle that she's still alive after everything that she had suffered. Nobody try to help her even her family members, except me. We had been through so many things together, and now she is getting a little bit better after almost 5 straight years. Fighting against mental problem is a long and hard battle. I hope that you can find someone who is eager to be with you no matter what, at least you are not alone in your way.

Although Taeyeon and me are probably different in most aspects, but Taeyeon's songs always touch me and make me feel related to her in some way. Her songs are beyond the level of "sound great" - they touch the bottom of my heart and thus Taeyeon holds a very special space in my heart among other great singers.
To Taeyeon: As always thanks for your new songs, they really healed me whenever I feel down. We're all people facing various type of struggles, you are our motivation to carry on and let us be your power as well.
Yeah, Taeyeon has one of those rare gifts to not just sing a song, but to convey the emotions of a song through her singing. It's part of why she has been so good historically at singing themes for dramas and movies as she has that innate ability to feel a song rather than just read a song. I wonder sometimes if that ability of her to feel things so deeply is part of why she struggles with depression. When you are really empathetic you feel everything more strongly and often look at the world differently. It is a double-edged sword in that you probably can feel incredibly happy, but when the news and things in life are negative, it can drag you into despair more easily too.

Ive been a fan of Taeyeon since Girls Generation and TTS. I stopped listening to KPop a while back. But now, I'm just seeing what's happen since. Man, a lot has changed. I remember when Taeyeon was a fresh young adult in Gee. Now I just learned that she is and has been going through a lot of stuff (I got caught up to speed from the comments). It really puts things in perspective. I miss her voice, and now it has a while new meaning than her innocent voice back then. You can just hear her maturity and experiences in her voice. Now that I'm older, I can relate more. And I'm glad I came back, it's like visiting an old friend.
