@@moon.937 Idk I've been told by many people sometimes like, "you look weird in colorful clothing", "you look weird in makeup", etc: when I go out of my comfort zone and try doing something I usually don't do and then someone puts me down for it, even as a joke it still really messes with my self confidence. You know what I mean? Like you try something out for the first time and then it gets shot down. It just feels pretty shitty. I know as an Asian myself that the standards for women within the continent as a whole are still largely conservative with lack of opportunity. This is not to say however that it isnt changing with time n that all asian countries are hyper discriminatory towards women, its just a fact that many variables (like skin colour, weight, beauty, job, etc) are still unfairly judged upon regarding women in Asia

However, there is still large room for improvement on MANY topics n behaviour towards certain subjects (i mentioned women before bc of recent harassment n scandal cases within korea which have been consistent for many years now n u can follow the news if u want to learn more). and tbh this is true for any society, culture, and country (including america), there is always room for improvement. I guess wut im getting at is the fact i appreciate artists like Jessi, Mamamoo, BTS, n etc. who break certain conservative stereotypes n taboos ingrained within s.korean culture (like tanning, taking bout mental health, having tattoos, unjust hierarchy n corruption, etc) to educate the general public more bout these topics n make ppl more open-minded
