Baer Games false, rob dahm’s 4 rotor rx7 came to sema 3 years ago and it was far from running and driving. Came as a concept and 3 years later its here again as a running car

The engine/turbo set up has a ton of potential and I would hate to see it get set aside after SEMA like last year's build!!!! I want to see what he has as a driver, and that car will undoubtedly need a skilled driver behind the wheel to reach it's full potential. I don't see Chris ever doing 8sec qtrs though, he just likes to build flashy cars. It is really well designed to handle some serious power and keep that engine cool. Imagine him tuning it to run on meth 😲🤪😩

Last year was lifted trucks, this year it's the BMW Supra.
Toyota makes it I think
Its based on a BMW Z4 chassis and BMW straight six cylinder engine, Toyota gave it a body that looks terrible and tried to make it "handle like a Toyota" but really it's a BMW Z4 with a Japanese dress on.

The company that would have brought a modified z4 would have ruled this years sema. All the other supra are mediocre at best.

@I Am Sekou I live in the DC area and all 3 Toyota dealers within 25 miles of me have the 2020 Supra. I saw them there about 2 months ago and all 3 are still there. Could be my area or the dealers might just have them for a show piece, whatever the case, they are holding down the dealers floor from blowing away.

man I love these videos... just cars no excessiveness and the mark 5 supra counter was the icing on the cake...
IMO the old cars had the best paint colors, and welcome all the wonderful shades of green used. The guy stepping on the display sign was hilarious and the unobtainium reference was great. Thank you for not putting obnoxious audio to this and I enjoyed the content all the way through.

It doesn’t matter how many diffusers, wings, and wide-body kits you put on them, that’s a Supra in name only.
Except for the initial sema companies rushing to buy 1 when first launched. The bmw supra isnt selling very well

@arod427 someone with forethought should have blew the minds of sema with a modified z4 just because lol.... go look at autotrader site and do a search for 2020 supra. Filter results highest to lowest. Car dealers are sc um. Supra is a mediocre car at best. I could slap wide body kit on a minivan and kids would think its fast. Hmm that would be a good youtube video build. Liberty walk grand caravan.

For the record, 2019 is year of the Supra and 2020 will be year of the Corvette C8
The only difference is that the Supra is a huge disappointment, the C8 is already looking unbelievably good!
@@Newtype-my3eb it could have been better. I was particularly disappointed that it doesn't have a Toyota engine. Shipping a re-badged BMW with pretty sheet metal makes it... still a BMW, but prettier. There were certain things I thought they did very well on the new Supra in terms of adding features for people to use when they modify it.
I do have to heartily agree with you that a mid-engine Corvette is a long-awaited beast which will be heavily modified and could potentially change the supercar industry. When you can get a car which performs like a Ferrari 458 for $60k with a dual-clutch automatic, mid-engine, etc, the strongest selling point of Ferrari becomes badge and performance becomes very contested! Hopefully this will push Ferrari, Lamborghini, and McLaren to compete in new and interesting ways! To be honest, I think they will be forced to push the performance envelope of their cars even higher to demonstrate the performance value of their cars. I'm really curious about what the Corvette C8 Z06 will be like in terms of horsepower. I fully expect it to be very competitive with the Ferrari F8 Tributo.
@@olinwread137 I have to agree with you on the new Corvette, and since 2005, any time there has been a Z06 a ZR-1 has followed. A theoretical C8 ZR1 would be deep in to hyper car territory.
I also agree that Toyota made a solid choice by making the MK V Supra very mod friendly, but the whole car just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. That's just one man's opinion however. I think if anything they should have based it on the same platform as the Lexus LC 500 (similarly to how the MK IV Supra and Soarer/ SC300/SC400 shared a platform. Look at the modern versions of two of the MK IV Supra's rivals: the new NSX and the R-35 GT-R, he MK V Supra is a joke in comparison.
Yes I completely agree with your point about shared architecture between SC400 and Supra and a desire for a modern day part sharing. It's really sad to have the 1990's era Supra be the last good true Toyota sports car.
Nissan has generally done a better job with their Skyline GT-R, but the R35 is getting long in the tooth and no replacement seems forthcoming soon.
The sad reality is designing and testing sports cars is very expensive for limited production/low volume vehicles. Toyota has done the math and sticks to their reliable money machines.
I really gotta move to the US.

Me personally love the new supra with the wide body kit on it. With out the wide body kit I hate it.
My opinion of the new supra is, it's balls, total sweaty balls of a car, it's garbage, not a supra, it's a BMW in a dress, they shouldn't have bothered.
(I preferred the old civic, I had one of those about fifteen years ago, it vibrated like a crazy thing in first gear because the flywheel was warped a wee bit, still take that over a new supra, or Z4 with a dress on)

That Ferrari w/Rotiform wheels had to be one the most GORGEOUS cars I've EVER seen! It looked like a hodge-podge of 288/308/328 all combined to form ONE EPIC VEHICLE!!! Absolutely STELLAR!!!! Excellent choice for your thumbnail too; it's what made me click the vid! lol!

@@redmr2na No because was a free available special edition in Europe at a normal price, initially only for laughs to show they could interchange panels without a deviation in panel gaps. The car is really nothing special in my opinion. And I'm a Polo enthusiast since the MK1.
