Catching the pole should grant him extra points. He did a great job.
I like how you edited your comment, but still left βpokeβ

But you missed the spelling of pole for poke. π
@@bloatedsodium7301 Maybe they edited it *to* "poke"
This has got to be the highest skill event in all of track and field.
The catch wasn't the hard part ya silly goofball.
@@mase15 ?
I agree because all I can see is myself flipping all the way back over, falling on my head & never making it to the bar..
It's actually kinda intuitive once you get a hang of it. Disc throw might take more skill haha.
The decathlon??
IN MY VIEW
It is amazing to see how the mind and body work together to create mastery in this sport. This man is a superb athlete.
I instantly heard that voice inside my head go β dammn!β
Now that is impressive. Not only does he go up over the bar but then catches the pole. Dude has some Matrix level skills.
Well I dont think catching the pole was very hard, but yeah the jump is very impressive.

That was OUTSTANDING! ππΌπ₯
The fact that he catches the pole makes it more cool
I've never seen a slow-mo of pole vaulting before, his form as actually insane
WOW π³π³
Wah!
Its just amazing how he catapoles himself perfectly untouched by the stick. Wah!
They work their way up in height. He would've kept going and attempted a higher height.
@@manhcuong3035 I say wah you say wah
This guy looks like he couldβve cleared a higher bar. Awesome jump. I wouldnβt be surprised if he won that event. ππ
+
Check the righ elbow just after he added that last push off either his righ hand. He was teo to three inches from impacting the bar. This bar was his exact max at that point in time(his coordination reflects that much).
@Kirklan Yoshinaga You have a cool name. Is that your real name?

He's fine tuned. This jump was choreographed for this height.

This is actually insane!! Daaamn I knew pole vaulting was intense but this slo-mo video really shows how hard this must actually be.
No wayπ²how did he do that ???....wow
@@susangraham2288 shut up
True
The vaulter could have cleared another 10-12 ββ¦probably just wanted to look for the videoπ
And for some reason there are tons of hot women pole vaulters at the highest levels of the sport. They are the ones who should be getting endorsement deals not the freaking Kardashians π
Just incredible. Then he catches it!! Fascinating that the poles don't snap in 2 .
Sometimes they do. It's not pretty.
@@Mastermind8908 Yeah, it can't be pretty. It's gotta be part talent, part the weight of the vaulter , and maybe a little bit of luck couldn't hurt either I'd suppose. I'm sure even the best of em' have had their poles snap at some point. Ooohff!! π

I almost lost my breath π€£π«
This sport is so fascinating. I tried taking one of the poles in high school they had left out and i could hardly get off the ground. Insane athleticism required.
So much of it is form though I was the same way but after lots of practice I finally got 7 feet which by pole vaulting standards is nothing but Iβm finally getting somewhere and itβs not from strength
You could hardly get the pole off the ground ? Brother youβd better start going to the gym if youβre that weakπ€£π€£π€£. Theyβre hollow fiberglass polesπ
@@loneprepper1564 My body bud. I hardly got off the ground. Not the pole.
For me, that's why when I see a biological female do it, it is all the more impressive....as long as she isn't competing against a trans male

And the failure rates stay behind the wall in a pile... xD
And the ending is the cherry on topπ₯

I always thought pole vaulted were amazing athletes, this in slow-mo is so cool.
This honestly had to be some form of warrior skill back in the day. I think it's so amazing what the body can do.
Travelers used it to cross rivers without getting wet
The body is not doing anything impressive here. Itβs the tube, itβs all basic physics. The tube wants to force itself back into position and will propel you along in order to achieve that goal
bro pole vaulting is actually insane π³
Thank you for sharing here in New York City watching with admiration. yeah the end was cool great catch.
My mind can't even compute how they do this it's amazing to me.

Itβs a lot easier than it looks to be decent at it. The hardest part is convincing yourself you can the first few times.

These never fail to amaze me. I always think that pole isnβt going to be able to launch that person over the bar.
Absolutely Amazing π
ngl that was as elegant and beautiful as an orchestra.
It's an amazing run, great catch, but it's so wild the stick doesn't break.
It does break sometimes. This is very dangerous as far as track and field goes. An amazing sport imo
@@notmefrfr I have seen it break before. That was wild but it is not normal for it to break. This is an amazing sport. Completely agree.

He mastered and overcame his many failed attempts to clear the bar. Success does not happen from luck... it comes from not giving up.
THE YOUNG MAN WAS EXCELLENT IN EVERY WAY

That was absolutely fantastic! It looked as if the pole did not give him enough leverage. I said to myself he wasnβt going to make it. He had more power in his push off the pole, than the pole itself gave him! ππΎππΎππΎπ€
