Squirrels' reactions to a chipmunk taking their food

Munchy is on a mission. Everyone shows patience with each other's time at the nut bowl, a well-adjusted community of friendly furred neighbors. They're all cuties.

Munchy must have quite the storage facility at his den, lol.

Instead of the drive thru for the squirrels, this is the all-you-can-eat buffet for the chipmunks 🐿

LOL, Munchy has a bit of a problem getting those large, oddly-shaped walnuts to fit in his mouth: "How's this... no this... maybe this way... if I rotate it... mmpfhh!" 😄

I just love the addition of the chipmunks! It feels like when a tv show adds new characters a few seasons in and they fit in perfectly and reenergize the show.

You are very kind to feed the squirrels and chipmunks every day. Nuts are not cheap and you said you often refill the bowl many times a day. God bless you. ❤❤

I remember the first time I saw chipmunks. My late husband & I were walking our dog on a university campus. Well, I flipped out & began screeching, "OMG, CHIPMUNKS! THEY ARE SO CUTE! OMG! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!" This was much to the good-natured amusement of several students passing by. I told them, "I'm from New Orleans! I've never seen a CHIPMUNK before! THEY ARE SO CUTE!" I was in my 40s. You can imagine my reaction the first time I saw a deer in our backyard.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I’ve always found that chipmunks seem to be pretty comfortable around people compared to a lot of other animals.

At this rate, Munchy will be the fattest chipmunk around this winter!😆 He and Cutie are my favourites already :)

People do not realise how much character and intelligence squirrels have. I have been blessed for the past 3 years to have a wild squirrel/s visit me every day to be fed. The mother , who seems to trust me, brings her baby's into our lounge ( this is the 2nd litter ) to be fed by hand while she sits on top of my head/shoulder eating walnuts without a care in the world. I have not named her/them & apart from the odd gentle stroke on the mummy squirrel I never attempt to touch them. I just let them do their thing. Although we have had a few occasions where another squirrel has come into my home following them and all hell has broken loose as they jump and fly around chasing each other knocking and smashing anything that gets in their way to get out into the garden. We have so many vids & photos of all this and I really should post them on social media.

It's a pity that we don't have chipmunks here in Europe. They are so lovely.

These are the most polite critters I think I've ever seen! Everyone waits their turn, even - unbelievably! - the blue jay, who apparently acknowledged he was in the wrong line, lol.
And it is hilarious to watch Munchy work thru the logistics of the (huge, to him) walnut halves.

Chipmunks must've been major league baseball players in their past life due to the way they stuff their cheeks with nuts is reminiscent of the way the ball players stuffed their cheeks with chewing tobacco, batter up.

There's just something so entirely adorable about Chipmunks & 🐿's 🙂. I've noticed also that a Squirrel will leave or wait for a Chipmunk. I've also seen Chipmunks chase Squirrels away. Crazy considering they are so much smaller!

I feed squirrels daily. I have noticed that the little red ones are the toughest ones around. They will chase the black and gray ones away from any food. The chipmunks are so fast that no one can catch up to them. They are fascinating to watch.

Did not expect this in the morning. But I welcome it. Very soothing.

I so needed to see this. A friend of mine sent it to me. Yep, i'm just NUTS about both chippies, and sqwerls, as I like to call them. I could watch this all day long, and never get bored. TV? Who needs tv, when you have these adorable balls of cuteness to watch. These guys never get boring. TY for the smile. 😁

I often wondered because of cartoons, but never knew chipmunks could actually fit twice their body weight into their cheeks until now.😂😂😅

I love how sedate Munchy is in your presence. He just stuffs those cheeks and runs off to whatever hole he is harboring that horde of nuts at. Odd that he never eats any on the window, just stuff and dash.

Your squirrels and chipmunks are so polite, mine are way less nice, and one of my chipmunks is just nasty!
He pitches a fit and squeaks at the birds, squirrels, and other chipmunks (and even ends up spitting food out of his mouth sometimes in the process), and even chases after rabbits! He's so grumpy!

Quite a little community you have, out there - I would spend hours, watching them :) We had a female squirrel who we called Scraps, in our garden flat in London - she hung out with us for a year and later on, she brought her babies to visit the garden. Once she saw us laughing a lot while making a video, she started doing cartwheels - so funny! I have bumped into another channel about chipmunks, on YT - a lady in Korea (ChooChoo's Story) - also delightful. Thanks for posting!

Your squirrel is very polite. I have a squirrel that mercilessly bullies other squirrels when they try to get at the circus peanuts we have in a feeder. The other squirrels finally got smart. When the bully runs back to get another peanut, they go and dig up the ones he has just buried. It’s hilarious to watch. I love all these furry little mooches!

They're so adorable ❤I just fed my might crew. I had 6 squirrels, 1 red cardinal, and 4 chippies, 2 are regulars but the 2 new ones are youngsters😂❤ I gave them some meal worms, hazelnuts, walnuts, peanuts, almonds, they've never had the hazelnuts before and all went for them fast 😂❤ I love watching them 😂❤😂❤

I love your special effects of sound when one squirrel sneaks upon another one or jumps out of fear or needs to defend his turn at the bowl. Munchy and Cheeky are both adorable characters along with all the squirrels. Amazing how patient the squirrels are towards the chipmunks, more so than they are with one another. I love squirrelies *and* chipmunks but I'm always amused by chipmunks stuffing their faces with food. Like, didn't your mom teach you to share?? I also love how some of your squirrel buddies do a giant leap towards the far end of the bush, like they're having fun pretending to fly. And how am I not subscribed?! For shame, me! Chipmunks are cute, but very greedy! I have heard that they try to stock up six months of food for the winter, but hopefully Munchy slows down and doesn't break the bank.
