I remember her talking about her pre-debut experience a few different times. Joy actually never thought she was the prettiest trainee, but before she entered the industry she was considered the prettiest in her school and hometown (people would tell her to join Miss Korea). After joining SM her confidence really went down because you are constantly compared to others in the industry and society. I can only imagine the pressure that idols, especially female idols are under, not only by the company but by knetz who judge every move. Anyway, I hope her confidence continues to grow. In Korea her visuals are actually being praised more and more. She's the muse of Espoir Makeup and of Aveda, she was nominated for Beauty Icon twice last year, and Kmedia regularly call her a Goddess. Just see her in Crush's "Mayday" video where she features. So stunning! Joy's also someone that I think is truly beautiful, inside and out.

I remember the first time I watched her kdrama. It was like watching young version and more bubbly character of Suzy. I even searched in the internet if she's somehow related to Suzy because the resemblance is just so insane. Found out that knetizens often compare her to Suzy because of their resemblance when it comes to stage presence and smexy style. It's quite fantastic for me since Suzy was my bias and I found someone exactly like her but the difference is, I love Joy more now. She's just something.
