i have nothing against the new breed of KPop stars but to be honest, the 1st and second generations of idols were greater in terms of talent and style of music. Their music were more diverse and cool, ranging from mellow to groovy, to techno to rock. The new gen of idols sounded all the same. Again, I have nothing against the new gen but I miss the old style of Kpop. Way to go Sistar.

10000% agreed. I feel like the focus of all the new groups are breaking into the US/globally which is great, but they think it’s just one formula/style of music that will get them there. They truly do not make groups or invest in groups like sistar, 2ne1, t-ara etc

i think sistar mostly got the award best dance group since snsd was obviously going to win best girl group and since sistar did an amazing job this year they deserved an award. cause really igab dance was much better
GG IGAB was pretty cool but wasn't enchanting nor did it convey a a strong feeling besides the fact that the dance was visually appeasing.
Sistar had much eye catching movements and made the audience hungry for more and wanting to see more of what signature moves that each individual had
such as Dasom's hat and stick... Soyu tango steps.. Bora's glitter so dont think that Sistar shouldnt of won because they 100% deserved it... but honestly GG was a great group to be up against for the award...

I'm not sure where you get that it didn't convey a strong feeling.. They did extremely good with the concept.. I love both of the groups, and I appreciate both of the music videos. But comparing the two just doesn't seem right, not trying to cause an argument. Just putting my opinion across.
its diffrent since allot of girl groups do sexy dances, and just some do hiphop and mostly its not something special. but igab was just so good with the popping moves and the 2 part rap battle and the chain of them leaning on each other and then running in front with doing amazing leg moves. there are so many espect of igab which make it special. sure sistar give it to me has some to. but sexy doesnt make something to remember about.

I get you. at the beginning its really difficult but with the time you start to realize little things on each asian star and then with that you can recognize them really easy. I tell you this bc the same happened to me but after a year and a little more knowing kpop its not that difficult anymore...
I have to say, as much as I like the current trends in girlgroups, I sometimes really miss this "Grown ass WOman" concept that was popular for a while. Sistar made Woman songs just like 2PM made Man songs.
I'm not saying the current generation is bad, but I miss this style, and I feel like there really isn't a group doing this right now.
I guess the new generation is still pretty young, maybe they'll do mature concepts in a few years. (Not talking 18+ mature, just this kind of womanly song).
I agree with you. I think the best current group that has done this is Apink.
They had a major overhaul in 2018 with "I'm so sick" and they're doing amazingly.
They have successfully turned from a cutesy girl group to a more mature kpop figure.
This not only changed their visual style and concept, but also their overall sound/music.
