Actually, the kiss isn't as bad as everyone says. I personally think it's super cute. They don't use their hands, they are stiff, they don't know what to say.. It's just pure innocence and inexperience and I think that's beautiful.
Of course it is awkward, but that makes it feel even more relatable because kissing for the first time or kissing a new person for the first time is indeed awkward. It gives a natural student-romance feeling.
