hi summer just wanted to tell you that you’re videos give me so much peace
Just wanted to say spf goes on last otherwise it doesn't really do much and with using tretinoin you should be extra cautious with that. Also it's quite unnecessary to use that much stuff in the evening if you use tretinoin. Especially to mix retinoids with exfoliants..I wouldn't recommend.

@@molliehays5963 maybe she didn’t ask but if you don’t use those products correctly you can finish with a lot of skin damage. Maybe it’s working for her but not other so it’s better to be cautious.

first of all i love u, second i feel like i always have to say i won your back to school giveaway way back when😭, third you’re STUNNING, and fourth something that drastically changed my skin: so i’ve had a lot of health issues for quite some time. I noticed my skin had been FREAKING out for probably 6 months. Around my mouth and nose mostly but if it wasn’t dry, it was breaking out and vice versa, nothing helped. WELL, i just had a very major surgery (GI related) and i was in the hospital for a week… i woke up the day after surgery and was SHOCKED that my skin actually looked clear… then the entire rest of the week it was clear… and now 4 weeks today, it is STILL clear! It’s almost like i was so so internally ill that it was pouring out of my body. Moral of the story is I completely agree that often times it’s not even what you’re doing to/for your skin, it’s what’s going on internally! LADIES AND GENTS, please take care of your bodies inside first and foremost! You won’t regret it. Love & miss u summer💜

Hey Summer, just wanna say be careful with mixing BHA/AHA with vitamin C serum and/or tretinoin! You layer it directly after each other, which either throws of the PH balances and makes the products useless, or is even harmful to the skin. I would advise to leave more room between applying those products or leave some out. The internet has great guides to combining (or not combining) skincare! Much love

First I wanna say your skin looks absolutely incredible! I also went off spiro at first thinking I didn't need it anymore a few months in however my acne came back like 3x worse 6 mon later so I ended up not only getting back on it but doubling the dose -- not sure if this applies to you since I wasn't using topicals but just wanted to share my experience/solution just in case! Now a little over a year on this dose my skin is back to being clear for the most part, save for a couple small spots here and there

Really good vid, just a little advice idk about mixing the vit c serum with the sunscreen, better apply the serum first let that absorb and the apply the sunscreen, also be careful with mixing vit c with bha/aha that can lead to an irritation, as for the nighttime routine the tretinoin with the bha/aha could dry/irritate your skin and compromise your skin barrier, I could also recommend skin cycling so you can alternate between exfoliating and repairing your skin

dont mix tretinoin with anything else especially exfoliants like glycolic acid.and make sure spf is the last step in the morning routine

My acne is bad, like just baddd not only lowers confidence ..but it hurts! I think people don’t realize how bad it hurts when u have acne. My skin cleared up for a couple of months and I was literally my happiest self .. buttt It’s came back and it is not going away like pimple after pimple after pimple ..I swear I wake up with new pimples EVERY morning . 😭 but I know acne is normal and I just try to keep remembering that 🙃

What is your top recommended products out of these?
They come back after a couple of years after completing accutane unfortunately. Mine’s all of sudden turned into heavy duty cystic acne and blew up. This time, I’m not taking accutane but trying out IPL laser, blue light therapy and naturopath. Committed to figure out the root cause and figure it out once for all.

I’ve heard not to use more than one active ingredient in the same routine. Is that true? I.e. retinols, AHAs, BHA
Yup that’s right, you can use retinols and AHA/BHAs on different nights. But you’re NOT supposed to layer them like how summer is doing in the video. Honestly I’m shocked her skin can handle it
You can if your skin has been trained to tolerate it :)

what about scars from acne :(
the best things you can do for scars (in my personal opinion) is always moisturize and wear sunscreen!! of course i love to have a tan in the summer but definitely need to make sure you don’t overdo it. the sun will only darken scars, cause any hyperpigmentation to appear darker and prolong the lifespan of scars. both of these are key and before you know it, your scars will start to fade over time!! i had horrible scars from accutane and mine really are hardly visible anymore a few years later- i can almost guarantee you won’t have them forever❤️
also, regularly exfoliating with a chemical exfoliant (1-2 times a week) will do your skin so much good. getting rid of those dead skin cells regularly (and throughly moisturizing afterwards) makes a huge difference in texture if you struggle with textured scars from acne!
@@heyitsollie3727 I think she meant like real scars, indented ones. PIE eventually fades. I'm not sure how much you can improve them with exfoliants unfortunately. I'm suffering from the same problem.
I’m on accutane and should be off in 2 moths. Have you heard of applying vitamin A to your face being good? Someone previously on accutane told that it makes up for the accutane your not taking once your off of it

The day i stopped eating red meat my skin cleared up.
My dermatologist says once you go off spirnolactone your acne will come back and that it’s not a permanent solution like accutane. But I agree accutane is too harsh to go on.
