In germany there are kind of fridge boxes. They keep cold things longer longer cold by themself but you also coud cool they powered by the battery of the car. It is realy useful in summer for things like butter or Milk

Sleeping sideways on that bed will be a problem for anyone over 5'2". Not a problem for the owner, but maybe she has friends sleep over who might be taller. Something to consider.
A narrower bed would give her more floor space, but only to a point, as the bed is over the raised engine compartment. As it is, she has some great storage under the bed.
The removable handles on the cookware- genius! Great hack that I haven’t seen anyone else mention.

Ive lived in Canada for almost 19 years and have been speaking English for 21 years and I remember "drawer" was a tough word to pronounce. I still don't pronounce it proper, sometimes I pause before saying it. So don't worry about it! English is tough!

Its funny...im so used to conserving water that even if im at a friends house i behave in the same way 😃 by the way i have just designed and built a rain catcher for my motorhome...its great...i collected 40 litres in just an evenings rainfall and it tastes so nice....im by the sea on the south coast of the uk so the rain is clean..i tested it.😆

Question about van life w/a dog: how do you make sure the van doesn't get too hot for your dog when you leave him in it (in the summer/when its warmer out)? I know that vehicles get super hot even with windows open, so I was just wondering how you approach that :)

dorkyarg i would do more research but i believe you can avoid this by insulating the van.
dorkyarg there’s mini air conditioners that can be purchased from amazon and you keep it near the area the pet stays in the most

i've seriously been inspired by susi. i'm still in school but when i'm older i would love to start van life and travel the world. i'm a little afraid tho because of funding and being alone but susi has proven through her videos that it isn't impossible.

If someone uses tampons its really not that hard. But yeah if someone was just using pads I would imagine it would be crazy hard and messy...and kind of gross bc then your just bleeding on the ground. She also might mean that she just goes to public restrooms wherever she parks.

Well, besides the pots and pans with removable handles, here's another topic I haven't seen in van life videos before. I'm sure SOMEONE has mentioned it, but I personally haven't come across it. I would assume tampons and diva cups would be the easiest option, until it came time to wash the cup or dump the tampon. No matter how small the van, I would def have the option of at least a lined bucket. Emergencies never happen when it's convenient! 😆
My friend thats on birth control doesnt get a period.. maybe that or diva cup and you can always find public restrooms around parks or coffee shops

Hi I’m 15 I am desperate for the van life when I turn 17. I’m considering a ford transit. But idk if that’s the best decision. I’m also plastic free so I also don’t know how I’m gonna have propane or how to travel. My family also don’t support it but idc cause I’ve wanted to it for about three years. And also I don’t know where I would park cause in the uk it’s not as good for van life than America. Also where do you put the waste as I want a compost toilet. Sorry about the long message but yeah. Waste in trash cans and dumpsters. It's going to be mixed with wood chips, saw dust, or kitty litter. Check out some stealth parking videos, one that has a few is Chrome on "Vancity Vanlife". The thing you really need to worry about is money income. The rest is learned going through life, and it really does just become every day life once you realize a lot of the fears were just fears. I've lived at campgrounds, truck stops, and parking lots. I haven't done street side stealth parking yet, haven't had to as I stay away from cities. But it seems that those might be easier than dodging curious managers in parking lots, lol.
Hi Maisie. I'm a lone female currently living in a Ford Transit in the UK. I think if you can do a conversion whilst you have the support of your family then it is such a great option for a young person to save money on rent from the blood-sucking landlords! The earlier you do it the sooner you can benefit from the possibility to save some money to buy some land or whatever option might suit you. Watch lots and lots of van tours and van builds on KRplus for ideas and fingers crossed there's someone your family who knows something about DIY who can help! By the end of it you surely will know lots about DIY yourself! It's worth making sure you get the correct insulation solution at the beginning as it's hard to update at a later stage and it's really important (I recommend closed cell foam combined with Dodo thermo fleece - although it's plastic!!! But it is recycled plastic? As an alternative wool has it's own challenges, make sure your solution for a vapour barrier is effective if you go that route). Also, making sure that you have a good ventilation system is important from the outset - gotta look after your health! Having propane is really handy in a van for cooking (and as back-up heating a a complement to a wood stove)... you don't want to get it because of the plastic pipes is that it??? Life is full of compromises :) For parking the best resource is an app called park4night, it's a community resource so it's people sharing park ups they've enjoyed, and other people's comments can keep the info fresh. You can search by place name or with a maps feature. Also, ASDA and B&Q carparks are always reliable if not so glamorous! You might meet people with land who will let you park more permanently, but be prepared to encounter lots of prejudice from Little Britain! There is such a "hostile environment" for campervanners compared to some other countries and it gets mixed in with racism against travelers. It's fairly unsavoury sometimes the little insights you can get to people's prejudice, but overall I rarely have uncomfortable encounters. But let the haters hate and live your life with peace, love and truth, and then who cares?! I recommend making your van as stealth as possible, the main thing being light proof, so if needs be you can feel secure in knowing probably no-one knows your inside if you decide to be stealthy some night. I also have a compost toilet, an elaborate home-made bucket system with fancy Kildwick urine diverter. I have a dedicated rotating composter at a local university allotment garden where I can drop off the waste, but I have been thinking about mounting a bin on the outside for when I am travelling! A lot of people just put their humanure in public bins but I personally think it's irresponsible as organic leachate from landfills is a problem for the surrounding areas. I think the other option is to carry a spade and bury it.

What you need to sort out is how you are going to earn a living. Remember that our beloved Suzi owns an apartment and she rents it. That's a steady income that's much needed for VanLife, since you are going to need money saved for repairs. Most Vanlifers do remote work with their laptops, which require knowing how to do that work in the first place, and having good references so people can hire someone who can't be supervised.
So, you're gonna need money for: 1) purchasing the van, 2) repairing it, 3) convert the van into a comfortable home, 4) insure the van, 5) create a fund for unexpected repairs on the road, 6) buy yourself a modest life insurance valid in all the places you are planning to visit (especially since your country is soon to leave the EU), and THEN you might start VanLife.
Can life seems lonely :/ that’s the only thing holding me back from considering it when I’m old enough to do so
Not every one gets lonely and if they do they can seek out others. Van lifers like their own company, and often love their solitude and freedom.
