The story of Night Birde breaks my heart. Her no good husband divorced her in 2019 when the Dr said she only had 3-6 months to live. Between the divorce & cancer, she couldn’t handle it and had a breakdown. The Dr was wrong & she fought her way back for 3 more yrs. She encouraged others & became famous before she passed. RIP Night Birde you were & are an inspiration. Such a beautiful soul. RIP

Having stage 4 bone cancer (I was told in September 2020 that I had a 2% chance of making it to my 50th birthday), I immediately connected to Nightbirde. Not only did I think she was a beautiful young lady, but a beautiful soul. When I heard she decided to drop out of the competition to focus on her health, I cried HARD and then when I heard that she passed away in February, I cried again. But her faith and her spirit will live on forever. I didn't know that her husband of 5 years divorced her after her diagnosis and I pray he has lived to regret that decision and ask for forgiveness.
By the way, 18 days ago, I celebrated my 51st birthday. So as Nightbirde said "A 2% chance is better than a 0% chance!"

Nightbirde has inspired my 14-year old daughter too. She keeps fighting against the bullies due to this incredible woman. She would have been such an awesome artist if we had not lost her. Rest in peace, precious woman.

I always cry when I watch Nightbirde sings. Her voice is magical and her strength to continue going is phenomenal. May her soul continues to Rest In Peace.

Every time I see Brandon's audition, I tear up. I had the pleasure of growing up with him. Such a sweet and gentle person.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017 on my 49th birthday. My husband left me in the thick of my battle in 2018. There has been nothing about the last five years that’s been ok. I saw her addition when it aired and I cried for hours the most cleansing cry of my life. It was the first time in five years I had hope and peace and forgiveness in my heart. She passed away on my birthday this year. As my battle with cancer comes to its end I play her videos and song everyday and pray I can show half as much dignity and grace. I now listen in the dark for the birds to sing.

I never get tired of listening to Night birde,I get encouraged everytime I see her sing despite all the hardships. May the soul rest in peace,and the rest of the wonderful singers in the other life, heaven

I was not prepared for Nightbirde's performance to absolutely crush me. From her song, to simon giving her the golden buzzer, to her quote at the end. I was in literal tears.
I also remember when Neal Boyd ran for office in missouri. I had no clue he was on AGT or had such an amazing voice.

They were all so special......but " nightbird hit me the hardest. " She knew what was coming , and she met her future with such courage and spirit and grace. She truly shone like a candle in the darkness.

Nightbirde was so inspirational with such a positive outlook admist a dire situation and lived what life she had left to the fullest. I truly believe "nightbirde" got her "wings" and she is free of pain from such a horrible disease...now she soars among angels!

Brandon Rogers was actually working at the hospital I work for/at. Such a huge lost to the entire health system, and his family. Along with his family of course. Rest In Peace King! You had/have EVERYONE celebrating you!! Always a star to us here in Virginia (Hampton Roads)!

This was beautifully done. The voiceover was sensitive but not morbid, celebrating the positive, while reporting the negative. I liked the biographical pieces on the screen and appreciated learning more about each contestants life. Thank you so much for a job well done.

Didn't even know who Jane Nightbird was until I clicked on this video. She is an inspiration to me and many others who now know her. Poor Skilyr...i remember when she first auditioned, so beautiful, i could watch her audition 1000 times, just loved her...its crazy how fast our lives can spiral out of control, i know first hand... especially those who were so full of promise...hope we all continue to grow and be there for the people who you know need it the most, in their darkest hours where people avoid them, until its too late.

There’s no such thing as loosing a battle to cancer. Cancer never wins. You either win or you tie. When you go so does cancer. And the entire time you fight and you never loose. Night bird never lost her battle. We all still have her memory of her beautiful singing along with the world

Jane was special. Her voice, her songwriting talent, her outlook, her genuine spirit. She was truly special.

Nightbirde was a wake-up call to everyone that came across the footage of her audition, be it live in that audience, on television, or online several weeks after the fact (as I did). She was so articulate and passed along not only a contagious positivity, but even moreso a wisdom way beyond her years in that song and her inspirational words. It left everyone breathless. Especially in our divisive times, it's almost impossible that one figure becomes almost universally beloved, but Nightbirde accomplished that in just five minutes. She'd better have been given her pair of wings when she arrived up there.

I saw Nightbird for the first time shortly after one of the best friends I’ve ever had passed away from breast cancer, she was only 30 and we had served in Iraq together. Nightbird sent such a beautiful message that was on par with everything she was about. I wasn’t and have not been the best person and I was the rebellious one to her complete and utter positive personality. Nightbird and her song hit me right in the feels. Their personalities were very similar.
I still have Nightbird’s song on every playlist I have for training (not the army anymore I’m a dog musher and spend a lot of time on the trail which is my own therapy).

Nightbirdie story and battle with cancer is heart wrenching. Her song - "It's Okay" is quite inspiration for everyone out there battling with one sickness or the other. Nightbirde made me cry. And when Simon started saying “Im not gonna give you a yes” and the stuff before that, I was like, NO SIMON YOU USED TO BE MY FAVORITE! And then I cried ❤

It's simply heartbreaking to see so many young talents who had to leave us so early!!! Even if it is only a small consolation for their friends and survivors, they can see their loved ones again while they are doing something wonderful, namely singing and this passion makes them live high once again!!!!
