Never seen a Korean make up KRplusr saying βThese American products are crazy, too pigmented, too unnatural, too bold and weirdβ. Cause we understand theyβve got different styles, different skin tones, different trends. I am Korean and a huge fan of makeup, Iβd have to say Korean makeup products work perfect for me.
That's great if they work for you. They work for Tati too! But you have to admit not every product, Korean or not, is going to work perfectly for you. She's doing a review for mostly a western audience that likes the style of makeup she does, so it doesn't matter how the product is used in Korea. She's telling her audience how she and they might feel about it using it themselves with their own style of makeup. I encourage you to review yourself on why you are so hurt, bc she definitely was not trying to attack k-beauty, or Koreans!
im not korean, but i like korean makeup products, because i dont wear cakey makeup, and like a natural makeup look if im going out.
chunnie "So it doesn't matter how it is used in Korea"
well... she doesn't review any cosmetics under the name of American brand, UK brand, or any European brands.... As long as she made a title with 'K-beauty' (you know what K stands for here), regardless of whether she likes it or not, it must have been better to show a bit of understanding what many Koreans prefer for their make up, or why those products are not working like many western makeup products.
β@@chunniecorn I am Korean American myself and I wasn't really offended but more like i wish she purchased products that are actually used by Korean women instead of teenagers. Most of stuff she've purchased (like PeriPera, Tonymoly, AprilSkin) are makeup brands for teenagers aged 11~17 in Korea. Not the best comparison, but to Koreans that sounds like buying lipstick from Claires and expecting the best quality.
@@miyash95 I actually bought a PeriPera ink velvet lip tint (I think that's the correct name) it actually worked wonders when I used it on my lips when they were super dry,, I'm looking for a small eyeshadow pallet to try out, would you recommend something?
Honestly, letβs just accept the fact that K-beauty is not designed for Western style makeup.
But almost all traditional Western luxury brands dior lancome ect. Have products that appeal to the Asian Market it's like thier biggest market. Its really just beauty gurus and thier ott makeup
I mean we have and we've been trying to say that but here we are with the "some of this is awful" clickbait title because our highlighters don't make your face a lighthouse. yikes.
L O U D E R
Itβs not designed for the Instagram makeup. Shu Uemura, Shisedo are Asian, yet an equal amount of people enjoy these products and are not limited to Asian style makeup.
I said K-beauty, not Asian-designer brand. K-beauty products are designed for, obviously, K-pop-star like beauty, which is very different from the Western makeup style we see everyday. So when you use K-beauty products for the usual Western makeup look, itβs not gonna turn out the way you want to. Just as simple as that. Iβm not trying to say Western makeup is superior or K-beauty is superior. It just depends on your own taste.
K. So... I'm Korean and I work at the cosmetics shop. Peripera and Aprilskin's target is mainly teen girls. They aren't a fancy-good-brand and I personally don't like them, especially Aprilskin. And I see the way you put these products... and you do it in a way Koreans won't do. I'm not saying it's wrong, but if I were a youtuber and I were to talk about foreign makeup products, I would have looked up how the locals apply them. I personally think all the K-sths are overrated but I want you to try some good products before you judge them right after using bad products.
Which lip stain brand would you reccomend? I'm interested but unsure
i was thnking about that as well. some of these brands arent even korean? ugh she needs to do her research.
@Justin Lee Can you please tell me some good brands to try???? Tyvm
Same with etude house. Its for teens
@@krissymc7085 3ce is very popular these days. Great makeup
Tati, I love you, but you need to stop comparing every concealer to shape tape lol those were two different price points. Shouldve compared the 3$ concealer to $5 concealer.
A problem that i see with many western beauty gurus when they try Korean make up is that they use it as they use their western style products and pretend to look that way. That's why some things are disappointing for them even if the product itself is good for what it's meant to be doing. Korean make up style is way different and the products are meant to be good for that specific look.
This is my biggest pet peeve π
@OWLofATHENS I get why. For me is a mix, i'm white but I have being living in Europe and different South East and East Asian countries, so i got influenced by different styles. I try to implement things from here and there when they compliment my features or the look that i'm going for. But I'll never expect that a peripera tint will work, stain or be applied the same way as my Dior matte lipsticks. Skin care is 90% Japanese and Korean though π
Well it is also a review for do these products meet their requirements for a product. Some products do work for both styles and some don't. Also I don't see anything wrong with looking for good products for your own look, even if they are created for a different aesthetic. Having said that, I feel like many western gurus do forget that k- and j-beauty go for a different look and that the products can be good, but not suited for their look or the way of using products.
But western consumers would use it that way as well mostly and not the korean make up stlye way ,so it's completely legit in my opinion to judge it from that perspective.
Anna 001 I completely agree! I live in Guam which is heavily influenced by east Asian countries (due to tourism) and Korean women generally do not pile on or layer makeup the way stateside women do. Both are beautiful in their separate ways, but k-beauty products give a different effect.
Pro-tip: lip stain bottle colours represent the actual stain colour, not the initial application colour. If the packaging is pink, but the product itself is beige, swatch it, wipe it away and the stain will be pink.
Alexandra L. That makes so much sense!! Thatβs so cool! π
Interesting
I love lip stains! Thanks for the tip!
Is it just me that gets triggered when she used a blending sponge for the CUSHION foundation.
I think that's why she goes through so much of it like she mentions.
I hate the cushion sponges. I use it for the initial applications and use a blending sponge afterwards for my makeup. Otherwise it looks horrid on my skin.
Ummm its her choice...and why would you not use a blender sponge? Dummy
Lol and what would you use? The piece of crap sponge it comes with? πππ
Kelly Todd most people buy their own cushions to use with cushion foundations as the cushions in them are not that good.

SHOUT IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK
It's amazing to see in the comments how the majority are very educated, and are respectfully explaining the trends of makeup in korea to Tati. It's wonderful and also helpful for viewers who might not know much either. It's definitely a different perspective from a western makeup influencer doing a first(ish) impressions on Korean brands, and I feel Tati should do more research and try out more "luxurious" brands in asia to continue to compare, but also explain the differences to her audience.
Alexandra Hanssen yeah I agree with you xx
Alexandra Hanssen Agreed. And Iβm thrilled to see the commenters recommending other KRplusrs to watch to learn about Asian makeup brands.
*sneezes hard* "Are my lashes still on?!" Haha, love you Tati!

Peri pera ink velvet is my holy grail. They are also good when your lips are dry. Love it and yes they stay forever on your lips. Best liptint ever
agree! I have lots of them
How do you remove ink velvet or lip stains? Iβve dry lips too, Iβve a hard time removing them!
@@annieb7898 the first time I used it in the store , it stays on my lips for solid almost 24 hours. I purchased it and I've been using it for years now, and I can tell you this, the more I use it, the easier it is to get it off of my lips. I guess it's because my lips used to it.
@@annieb7898 oily remover will do. Or Maybelline Superstay Eraser

I wouldβve liked Tati to use some 3CE products since they are AMAZING in my opinion
OooooHHhH yes i agreeeeeee
OMG Yes! I agree! I love 3CE! I wait for it to go on sale and treat myself. π
They are amazing π
KassiStardust it was on sale at yesstyleand maybe still is. I got a lipstick for 60% off. I did a try on video in my channel π
yea 3ce is great
FYI buying Korean beauty products off of Amazon is often asking for knock-offs.
This is so true. The stuff my sister brings back from Seoul is vastly different from the crap you get on Amazon.
True! I only buy on Yesstyle; I definitely spend more money on there than I should ;;
@@AnoukiMorgenstern ye yesstyle is where it's at
That's not true, I've bought a lot of my Korean stuff from Amazon and it's real ..
AnoukiMorgenstern its also cheaper! I bought some of those peripera liquid shadows for like $6/7
why is the title so clickbaity... i generally like tati's videos but everytime she features asian products in her videos the title of the video is always like "strange beauty products" or "testing weird products", and honestly its kind of annoying because i feel like it just reinforces the weird narrative some people have abt asian beauty being cute but bizarre gimmicky goods....
EDIT: i notice that tati has now changed the title of the video... which im glad! but before anyone come at me, it used to be sth along the lines of "K-BEAUTY...some of this is awful!". also to further clarify, my comments above are not only directed at this video but tati's history of videos on k-beauty (see her thailand haul and the video where she tries on asian masks with james).
not only that but the majority of the time it just looked like she messed up on purpose, I love her but when k beauty was just starting to get popular she was unnecessarily harsh
Yes, I agree that the title was misleading.
And then thereβs the whole expecting to create a western style makeup look out of korean (or just east asian) products... theyβre straight up not designed for those kinds of looks
AGREED. a lot of these "weird" "strange" asian beauty products are the norm in asia... it's only weird bc it's not the norm in the States... also slightly triggered by the "some of these are awful!" bc... i mean there's awful products made in and by the States, the UK, etc... rly not trying to hate but just want to point that ouuuutt...
esp as a HUUGE influencer.. It sets a tone to those you influence that we use "strange", almost nonsensical products. Tati, please be mindful when you upload these titles!! love u regardless!!
Her views are going down, and apparently her content on itβs own isnβt good enough anymore, so she has to clickbait
next time you could make a video with more popular k beauty brands. for example imnisfree, missha, more etude house, more clio, pony effect is good too and others
Anie Nana she has clio and etude house products in the video
@@ikea3035 that's why I said more etude house and more clio
Oh peach c eyeshadows are good too and 3CE
not to offend, but that brands you said is mostly target to teenagers. I'm Korean btw
@@estelleko9274 agreed also pony effect isnt even a famous brand
Instead of going on amazon you should get your kbeauty products on yesstyle
Finally someone who mentioned it. Amazon has such a limited brand range.
EXACTLYY
And sometimes you don't actually get the real product
I LOVEEE yesstyleeeeeee
Well I am a very late comment but do u know how long the orders take to come to the states?
Hello Tati! These products are the equivalent of drugstore products in Korea, and there are of course, high end Korean products. I think the Clio kill line was originally a high cover line borrowing coding language: 'all kill' for complete coverage.
She compares a few of the products to drug store brands in america so thats pretty clear. And prices kinda let you know its drugstore quality
Yes, Mandy, I was suggesting that she might wish to try some high end products if she is actually making an assessment of Korean products as the title suggests in a polite way, without writing as though I were criticising her for not including them in the first place.
Pencilfriend Paperscribbler and I said its very clear from the prices that this isnβt high end makeup. π€·π½ββοΈ
Mandy Mace Yes. You know that. I know that. Tati knows that. We all know that. I was saying, in a politely oblique manner, that an assessment of Korean makeup that ONLY includes the drugstore products is not a fair assessment any more than an assessment of Western makeup that ONLY included drugstore makeup would be.
Pencilfriend Paperscribbler I was being polite as well and saying that there are clues everywhere in the video that this isnβt high end makeup.
*asian beauty is legitimate and not some "weird" "quirky" "strange" sector*
Sarah Chan Exactly!
Sarah Chan Yes! People of color arenβt quirky. Iβve heard a few things on here lately that are really giving me pause.
THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN SAYING
Sorry I disagree, there is no guarantee of ingredient quality. So many asian brands have been caught out including ingredients NOT listed on the label and some of those ingredients are toxic. Sadly, same thing is happening in our medications...with so many recalls of tablets within the hospital system because they are made in asian countries.
In america it is your standard is not the standard here
The reason you go through cushions so fast is probs bc you're using them wrong π¬ using a sponge instead of the puff it comes with will soak up loads of product from the cushion, and you did so many layers in the bit you included
purplestars true o.o for me personally I just need to dip my puff in once and I can cover my whole face......
wow you really did not do your research for kbeauty products. they're not super pigmented, they're not marketed or made for western beauty styles. koreans typically do very natural, dewy, sheer coverage products. there is bad products, but a lot of these are just for the natural makeup styles they're meant for.
i typically really like your videos and you're usually pretty educated when it comes to videos like this especially, but this one just ain't it.
This is the reason why you should watch k-beauty youtuber for k-cosmetics. The difference is astounding.
Nora Beatrix Itβs just that Tati has a lot of loyal fans and this video may make some people think that Korean beauty and makeup is weird or gimmicky :,)) But yea, if you really want to know more about Asian beauty, you should take a look at other Asian or half-Asian youtubers like Edward Avila or Pony...
@@mikasantiago270 Tina Yong is also another great youtuber! She understands the difference between Western and Asian products and how it works
@@caramelsimon7472 agree. I also love watching Tina Yong since she know how to properlyuse "quirky" "weird" kbeauty products.
Yes only asians can relate π
@Mika Santiago Yes! Pony and Edward Avila are such great Korean beauty people. If anyone wants to see true Korean beauty, please watch them
K-beauty is not awful, itβs not meant for western looks either. Koreans usually have a goal for a more natural and gradient look, nothing heavy of course, practically itβs wayyyyyyy different than western looks.
I feel like it was a very positive review. She liked the majority of the products and made me excited to try it, but a lot of Asians commenting on here are shaming non asians about being ignorant about their makeup. I'm like "fine! I wont buy it!". It's just make up and there's a whole lot to choose from!
You should try the 3CE brands, or HERA, or Sulhwasoo, and others korean high end brands. Please make review...
Sulhwasoo please! I think I am not using it correctly because... I just can't! But I would love to be able to
She always says she goes through cushions really fast but thatβs bc she puts a lot on. Like mine last forever
Maddie Do
And she uses a beauty blender. That sucks up so much foundation. She should apply the foundation on her face with the cushion included and then blend with beauty blender
Tati, I really do love you, but the way you do any asian makeup review needs some rethinking. For one, this is one of the few times you haven't titled your asian makeup videos "TRYING WEIRD MAKEUPπ°π€". Just because you don't often use it doesn't make it weird and I think that you need to be more responsible and realize that it alienates asian culture. Plus, these are just low end kbeauty items and you shouldn't be expecting shape tape. Also, if you try to do western style makeup with this then you're not giving it a fair shot. You don't have to love it, but you should use it as it is meant to be used if you're expecting good results. Kbeauty isn't your thing so you should probably try to understand it before reviewing it or don't review it at all. The alienation is what concerns me the most. This isn't meant to be hate, I just hope you take some of these comments into consideration
hey the original title was: k beauty...some of this was AWFUL. same idea as the TRYING WEIRD MAKEUP, even though there were lots of positive things said in the vid
Well said stella
Welllll saidπ
I agree! Well said!
Echoing those above, very well put.
Hey Tati, try doing an actual K-beauty look next time with K-beauty products?
vandelia327 I was suggesting sorry if you see it some other waaaaay - I want to see how caucasian faces blend in with Korean makeup π
Korean makeup is not made to be used to make a western look. Its like using a sheer coverage foundation expecting full coverage, its just not what it's for.
She doesn't seem to know how
She literally can wear it however the hell she wants?
Maddie Grace Lmao NO!!! Western make-up is more "glam" and full coverage thing. While Asian make up is more natural look oriented. And so (not rocket science) why would there creators waste money on creating something that the public won't purchase?
I actually like The Saem concealer. Shape tape is actually quite heavy on me.
Kawaii Lola I love the saem concealer,a best seller in Japan.
yeseu~ esp the pot one
the same is the best concealer i ever touch, i went to japan and get 1 , just for try , and now I'm in love with it , don't know how i can get it more
Same, i have it and its really good
Can i ask how y'all use it/ apply it? Every time i put it on it looks gross but maybe I'm just doing it wrong?
The problem are not the products and they do not "suck" .. the problem is the way of how western make up is. In Korea they prefer a soft and natural make up ( an skin that look moist and healthy.. not a make up that in person looks like you want to scratch someone face to clean it).
And using a proper ammount it means "please dont use it to create a cakey make up look".
You're not supposed to load K Beauty on with a shovel the way KRplusrs love to do.
Amanda L'Heureux this is the best comment Iβve seen so far

LOL! Love this comment
Sara Jung has
sorry what?? I don't get it >
I donβt know if itβs the case but considering K-beauty is mainly sold in Korea/Asia they only do shades for Koreans/light skinned-Asians. At least in Europe, you wonβt find Korean brands in stores (except some skincare in Sephora). Knowing there is not (much) diversity in those countries and they donβt directly aim for the international market, I guess it explains the lack of shades.
Even international brands (Estee Lauder, MUFE, Maybelline etc) only release a limited shade range (about 3-10 shades) in Korea!
Elena Wang , I agree. As an Asian girl, who is into k beauty over a decade, it is more directed towards flawless skin rather than dramatic makeup. And their singles are good for fast makeup) you can just use 1 shade, liner, mascara and you're done))) so there is no need in making palettes as western brands do. Everyone has their own specialty π Love you, Tati))) but every time you do k beauty I cringe))) it's so odd to see you not being expert in makeup)))
LaB Isnβt it more so because of the beauty standard of pale skin? Isnβt that why there arenβt many shades made in the first place?
LaB but celebrities always have the option of using darker shades from international brands, and celebrity makeup artists definitely have these shades. I think thatβs more of an indicator of the makeup artistsβ skill (or lack thereof) than shade range.
Elena Wang while true there are people who are native who have darker skin then the βdesiredβ light skin.
It seems to me that Tati likes most of the products she mentioned. As Asian myself and a person who used to use kbeauty products a lot, i think she's being quite fair. and it's not about whether she's doing her makeup in western way or korean way. I didn't like the products she didn't like as well. and neither did lots of my friends who do Korean makeup. it's just the title a bit clickbaity.
I'm glad you said this. I didn't find her unfair at all. The comments here have seemed a little harsh to me.
@@Hollowpointacres Same
Korean pride that is the reason for rudeness
Some American make up sucks but we don't write off all American make up. Just because not every K Beauty cosmetic is a hit for you does not mean you should call it awful in the title imo. So unnecessarily clickbaity
Really? I thought it was positive! Like "believe it or not (because most K-beauty products are good) bad products do exist! I guess it's just how one is and interprets things? π€·ββοΈ
@@noraperez9510 I think that in the past Tati has done this, thankfully she talks about stuff she does like in this video, so for people that aren't familiar with K beauty they don't write it off completely...
welcome to the beauty world. everything is clickbaity. if you don't like it, watch something more oriented to your tastes?
I don't get it, she makes videos talking about the BEST and WORST of foundation, highlighters, eyeshadows, and many more, but this one is unfair and clickbait? π I like k-beauty but not everybody would love it and people should be ok with that
everyone responding to this comment about what the comment was about but me being over her like
"Did you just call her "Imo?" As in Aunt/auntie in korean?"
I don't think K beauty brands are maliciously excluding darker skinned people in their lack of foundation shade range. They are merely catering to their target market of Korean or southeast asians who tend to be light skinned and who usually desire to be light skinned.
Andie S yes totally, itβs because of the market.
Exactly.
As someone who is southeast asian, the majority of the population in southeast asia does not have light skin. And even though at first glance doesnβt seem bad. The whole aspect of beauty being in in lighter colors do play into the aspect of colorism.
Jordan Kelley youre right, i can understand where youβre coming from!β€οΈ
Andie S Exactly!!!!!! They r simply making shades that r in THEiR market countries. Itβs all good.
Tati, can you please do korean look with k-beauty products? Like ombre lips, glass skin and minimum eyebrows
Artari Danila would be refreshing to see. i am overwhelmed by lashes+shiny eyeshadow combo all the time. donβt get me wrong, tatiβs product reviews and skin makeup is great but i am just always overwhelmed by the eye makeup.
Arenβt there youtubers that do that already?

Please do your research before reviewing these products!
K-beauty have different purposes and ways to apply compared to western makeup.
They are usually suppose to be for everyday "natural" use.
You can easily look up several korean youtubers and study how they apply the products and how different they are compared to western beauty youtubers.
How hard is it to understand that k makeup beauty products is VERY DIFFERENT from Western Makeup. I prefer K beauty because less is more.
Stfu!
same!!!
Rack City Duh λ«μ§ λΌμ’μΊκ°
You can do less is more with quality products. I donβt even use foundation and use natural minimum makeup, but some Korean makeup feels like children makeup with the poor pigmentation and the patchiness. Also, considering they sell so much internationally, they should consider expanding their shade rage above NC25.
Rack City Duh its an opinion π
Not everyone can afford Lamer or other luxury stuff. Why would you compare a korean beauty concealer to tarte shape tape? They don't strive for full coverages thick concealer. They don't even put that much concealer under their eyes.
All she said about Korean concealer was that it was greasy, difficult to blend, and overall was not happy with how it was looking so she went over it with the Shape Tape.
Could the problems she was having be because of the differences in applications between Western and Korean beauty? Yes.
haneulk7789 girl, that goes for anyone haha I would love to look flawless but natural at the same time
True!!! ππ» They invest so much on skin care!
For concealer sorry but they not good

EDIT: I thought this will get lost in the comments section, but whoa. Justification on each point posted as a reply here
I hope Tati reads this:
1. Tati should stop "mocking" the English on the products.
2. The clickbait title is disappointing.
3. K-beauty has advanced cosmetics incredibly, and they have influenced many western products as well
4. Try korean skincare. They are life-changing
also cushion puffs are there for a reason. Use them!
1. Why should she though! It's not like she's gonna learn Korean to properly name a eyeshadow. And this brands need to hire people to do the translation properly, it's not like there lack of English speakers in Korea.
2. It's KRplus darling, every one click baits.
MACZ Rimpos can someone please time stamp when she mocks the english? i must have missed it
MACZ Rimpos Hi, could you recommend some korean skincare products? Would love to try it of itβs really life-changing π
Yeah leak the skincare secrets lmfao
K-beauty is supposed to be light and natural looking. If youβre not happy with it, itβs probably because youβre used to western style makeup(which is heavier). Also the shade range is bad because there isnβt that much diversity in Korea. And what do you expect when you order stuff off of amazon?
And beacises Koreans idolise fair skins oor use a lot sunscreen to maintain youth. Therfore they don't mind or prefer if thier foundation is what we consider too light

there are still darker asians... Hyolyn, Jessie, Jihyo, etc. Korean people are actually more golden looking and their foundation never seems to match when you get ahold of unwhitewashed or brightened photos. There should still be a range outside of three colors.
K Beauty can go heavy looking otherwise what are we supposed to use to do a smoky eye look?
Actually Iβm a korean American and on the lighter side and never can find a foundation that matches even though I wear sunscreen religiously. The only ones Iβve seen those foundation shades match are my aunts who lighten their skin, otherwise we all have a more golden/ olive skin tone even though we all wear sunscreen. Itβs just that Asians idolize pale skin
everyone: review k-beauty!
tati: *this*
everyone: ...oh. shit, never mind actually
I'm loving your hair and makeup today! One of my favourite looks you have ever done! ππ
Tati, Iβm a big fan of yours but as a Korean American, I really feel like you should do a bit more research before filming these kinds of videos. I know youβve explored different countriesβ makeup products but Koreaβs makeup application techniques and makeup styles are SO different from the way you do it and the products are made for the Korean style. I feel like you could really use your platform to educate others about this as well.
I felt a bit disrespected throughout this video and hope you will thoroughly research next time please. I have to say though, the title immediately disgusted me and I feel very insulted towards it. Please stop targeting and blaming the makeup and different beauty cultures for clickbait. I know youβre being honest but it is unnecessary to input it in the title and you could have described it better than βawfulβ
Okay she wasn't blaming beauty cultures for bad makeup for her. Some of it was awful for her, it is what it is. It is makeup she can play with however she pleases. Now, would it be interesting to see her do a Korean trending makeup tutorial? Absolutely. But do not try to shame her for not doing it the "right way" it's makeup, it's meant to be played with. Don't shame her and be "disgusted" at the word awful. It wasn't click bait she said and showed the things she doesn't like. Don't get offended because she did her regular thing.
Emma Jackson she was pretty polite and not shaming but explicitly saying how Tati does do research ..
Technically I can say youβre shaming her for having a slight dislike for how the video was done
@@Esqm There was nothing "slight" about the dislike. This person was obviously mad. I wasn't shamimg I was showing a problem. If I was shaming there would've been insults thrown. I don't throw insults I throw facts.
@@emmajackson2488 she did her regular thing, and while a part of that is honesty (which i get), doing her 'thing' also includes applying makeup in a western style. not that there is anything wrong with that, but these products are just not meant for doing the applications. maybe if she tried applying and using them like they were meant to be, they wouldnt be as awful to her.
i get that she was playing around with makeup as you are supposed to, but with 5.5mil subs, it might imply to that large crowd that those products are not good when they are just supposed to be used a bit differently.
followers of tati (me included) trust her opinions and i just thought it would be a little better to do research before these things
Whoa. This is dramatic. Itβs just makeup people
while k-beauty brands obviously aren't going to have as wide of shade ranges as american or european beauty brands, the majority of foundations in korea are usually sold in two shades: 21c and 23c. as a korean-american, both of these shades are too light for me and far too light for me in the summertime. so while i do appreciate people in the comments understanding that korea is demographically different than america, korean brands should still make an effort to, at the very least, include enough shades for all korean people.
epark16 I agree. As a Korean myself, I find it difficult to find shade :/
epark16 exactly
I always wondered how the product ranges could even work for a lot of ethically Korean women when I know every woman doesn't have beige 1 or beige 2 skin, glad for confirmation of that
The reason why Korean makeup companies donβt create a wider shade range is because the factories have to make them in large quantities. The deeper shades do not sell as much and the companies lose money.
@@iannechang9346 let's be honest because most people in Korea are trying to look fairer or brighter so they don't acre of the foundation is a shade or too light.
As a Korean person that only uses k beauty, I started out with tony moly, but now they r just not as goodπβ and in etude house they have LOTS of palettes and for Clio u need to try the kill cover glow cushions THEY R SO GOOD
I looove your new cool relax vibe Tats!!
I don't take issue with K-beauty shade ranges because they aren't marketed for people outside of Korea. Yes, we can still obtain them here, but that doesn't mean that's who they're trying to sell to. In America it's more of an issue because America is an extremely diverse country with a bunch a different skintones - Korea not so much.
It DOES make me a little sad because I have olive tan skin and k-beauty products are never released in a shade I can wear, but I still understand why that is and I don't take offense to it or anything.
Hellish Fae Innisfree has started to open some stores in America! They have an amazing shade range for their cushion foundation that will definitely suit medium to some dark skin tones! You should check it out.
This - I donβt think non-Koreans realise even Western/international brands donβt release their full shade range in Korea. The new Givenchy foundation (teint couture?) released in Korea with 8 shades and influencers are going on about the wide shade range.
@@sollie2441 Oh, that's exciting! I'll definitely look in to it :D thanks for the tip!
For olive tones Espoir has a really good shade range β€οΈ
Have you tried the missha bb creams? Some go to shade #31, which is pretty tan for k beauty
Maybe watching a k-beauty guru next time before trying out these products??
Also think you should give 3CE products a try.
I think they are probably the k-beauty brand that is more suited to these western makeup styles without losing too much of the k-beauty vibe
EXOKAI'S WIFE I agree with you! Xx
3ce is the great choice and also pony effect.
So beautiful! Love the top so muchπ paired with the accessories, nails and makeup wooooooππ»β€οΈ
This is the best bronzer youβve used in a month. Youβve been going crazy with that cream bronzer/contour lately which isnβt a good look.
That's so true! I hate her bronzer lately but this time it's so good!
I cringe lately how heavy sheβs been and for once it looks nice and blended not chunky
I agree - I always think the heavy bronzer / contouring and highlighting really ages Tati. She's beautiful naturally and always looks so much younger and fresher with softer or no makeup. I am around Tati's age and have slowly switched over most of my makeup and skincare to Korean and Japanese. I've never felt prettier and focus more on skincare these days than makeup. Heavy 'Western' make up with buckets of foundation, contour, bronzing.. etc also puts years on me.
Its Korean products I donβt think theyβre trying to target American consumers ...
So why do they sell their products via American retailers? Obviously they want to sell to American consumers.
They have a way to be used obviously so itβs probably targeting Americans that are into Korean makeup and use it that way, not American who are into IG makeup and full coverage.
Rack City Duh when OP said American consumers, she meant the majority of Americans who like to do heavy glam makeup. Korean products are meant to look light and natural.
Rack City Duh because Asian Americans are a part of American consumers duh?
Her targeted audience are girls from WESTERN COUNTRIES. Obviously her review would be for western beauty.... Its not that deep. People are so pathetic and dramatic, get the f*ck yourself.
You did a K Beauty video and didn't mention the Laneige Sleeping Lip Mask?! Omg that stuff is a godsend, it's something I always have numerous backups of, it's that good.
I think I have at least 2 going at the same time!
I dont even use it only to sleep...I carry one in my purse.
@@brooke1890 Oh absolutely not! It's too good to not use all day. I literally have one in every room of my house + bathrooms so I can always apply it. I put it on like 100 times a day ππ
I bought one. Haven't used it yet. Didn't even know it was k beauty. Wow I don't pay attention.
Iβm not sure why you need the backups for it - I use this mask every night, I put on a really thick layer and yet itβs been a year and I barely managed to get through a half of it :D this product is awesome and it changed my life!
Iβm in love with everything about you in this video. The hair, makeup, and outfit looks stunning β€οΈ
I'd like to see you trying brands like 3CE or Pony effect!!
you should try buying kbeauty from yesstyle! amazon often has fakes :(
I love k beauty, but I also follow k beauty tutorials.
Also, Amazon carries fakes, so I donβt trust them.
Absolutely obsessed with your shirt! Please start listing where you get your outfits in the description box or something because I love them allπ
Tati I love your make up look today looking so pretty
They're not awful. You just don't know how to use them and it's not meant to be used how you usually use it. Asians I bet wouldn't say that.
Lindsey C. im asian and i agree some of the products is awful
She applies Korean cushion foundation with a beauty blender!! I totally agree with u that she really doesnt know much about how to use Kbeauty products!
shinie pham well it doesnt matter if she use beauty blender and cushion.. it works the same
Itβs just very odd to me she title it βawful productsβ when most of the products she enjoys ???????? And the bad ones werenβt even that bad? And it bothers me that it has to be on a review over Korean makeup
Im asian, and i agree that not all of kbeauty product is good, why can you accepts that some product doesn't work for some people? In the end IT JUST MAKEUP. chill...
No 3ce? Theyre one of the best korean makeup brands imo. You bought the equivalent of drugstore makeup and expect it to perform like high-end quality
I just wanted to say that no offence but drug store make-ups do work like luxury brands...I just think that's not a fair thing to say that
Not really. 3ce is expensive with its cheap packaging. It has a strong social media presence. And drugstore can perform even better than high end quality.
@@akirarosenthal exactly!
@@akirarosenthal yeah I just think she shouldve used a variety of products of different prices. I love 3ce products, theyre not thaat expensive but definitely not cheap.
Tati,,, Honey,, I love you and all, but understand that Kbeauty its targeted to korean people it most likely would not suit the dramatic matte makeup that americans prefer. also the title is kind of yikes....
Minghao's Dimple targeted to the Asian market not just Korean we all like similar trends In beauty
Right! Theu use a lot of makeup but it has to look so natural, that's why many things are so light,so not pigmented etc

Try 3CE products and the Clio kill cover foundation
I second this! I have the clio kill cover foundation and it's been the best foundation I've ever tried!
Third this!!
The clio kill cover foundation was horrible for me... I guess makeup is a really personal thing, as Tati often says π
yes they have great products!
ClΓo has a new cushion and all the local Koreans are raging over it. They have some good stuff!
"Some of this is awful!" *goes on to praise more than half the products in the video.*
Hi Tati, love your videos.
One request- please do review on thebalm cosmetics..
Thanx
Loved the video. The red lipstick looks fantastic on you. Have a good weekend. See you Monday!
I would love to see more brands like 3ce, Missha, I'M MEME, Lilybyred, etc. These products are pretty accessible by amazon, but I use beautyboxkorea to get these products :)
Alexandra Hanssen is the website legit and the products are real? Iβm looking for a website to buy korean products beside Yesstyle.
Thanh Nguyen yes I buy from them a lot
Also Amazon and SokoGlam
Omg thank you l love y'all because yes style takes too long and their products are limited
I love when American KRplusrs who are ignorant on how asian beauty works judge asian products.
This ^
Jordan Davis ππΌππΌ
Yeah, because you have to have a PHD in Asianology to use cosmetics available in your own country...
So how should you use a moisturiser based on how asian do it? How should you use eye shadow? Is it different on how asian do it? Hating race DOES NOT MAKE YOU A BETTER PERSON!
@@alexanderdolin7253 there is actually a difference on how to use the eyeshadow .-.
Hiii! Try 3CE lip tints. They feel sooo nice in the lips! Daffodil and Taupe shade π€
I love your top, Tati! It looks so good on you β€οΈβΊοΈ
When she compared the K beauty concealer to Tarte shape tape.....Not everything has to be full coverage and high end. K beauty or other asian brands should not be compared to American brands to show if they are good...
Tarte shape tape is made in Korea by the way. It is made by Korean cosmetic manufacturer. I hope she know..
And comparing a 3 dollar concealer to a 30 dollar one from a high end brand is like... ridiculous
In my opinion she has no dark circle to be covered. Sheβs just too used seeing herself in full coverage look.
Especially since all the kbeauty brands she is trying are their drugstore brands. Maybe if she went higher end Korean brands like laneige then it'd be a fairer comparison
Hi connie, i agree & i disagree with you, i think she need to compare the concealer formula to describe the quality or the result (so the audience know what she mean) it just preference.. doesn't mean it bad for all people. In the end IT JUST MAKEUP ;)
I know that Tati's just being honest and true to her standards but i think it's just weird to judge asian products, in general, by western standards.
But she should use words correctly and didn't make people trigger.
I agree ππ
L Y C A agreed
I think its sad that she doesnt do research, especially if she is comparing The Saem with Tarte?
I know most K beauty followers are not Asian in ethnicity or heritage. Should they keep their mouths shut?
Gorgeous makeup day!
The curl fix from etude house is my HOLY GRAIL for my little Asian lashes

Pony makeup is sighing somewhere . . . oh tati
What kind of title is that.. Seriously.. What.
Tati changed the title. I watched 10 minutes after it uploaded and the title was "Best and Worst of K-beauty"
Aqilah Shah wait what was it before
Aineki Traverso yeah, the title as of now for me says exactly that ^
It still says some of this is awful for me
What? So all k-beauty products have to be amazing?? Lol
Awww my love Tati very very thankΒ΄s for good Information of K-Cosmetics . The Video is ever the Best.
I am loving that top Tati!
Asian makeup is more to dewy side and less is more kind. Even the skin care should make you face look dewy and oily.
@Ree go search glass skin make up, that would give you a good idea.
Tati you should try the EVXO foundation! Itβs 100% organic, gluten free, medium coverage, and absolutely STUNNING.

Loved this review! It made me actually want to try some K Beauty products especially on days when I want something more natural looking! ππ
I donβt know why people continuously complain about K Beauty shade ranges...the MAJORITY of their consumers are of lighter skin tones. As they branch out into the states and surrounding countries, they may recognize that it would be beneficial to their business to expand their shade range, but why create dark shades when the people buying their products are fair toned?...that just seems like common sense to me. π€π€·πΌββοΈ
tobekem as someone who lives in korea, most people here don't complain about the shade range, there are people who are a bit darker, but eventually they will find a foundation that will give them the desired look
We often just prefer it to be brighter, hence why we pick a shade lighter
yeah this is so obvious for me XD
And i feel like people from Korea have different 'needs' for makeup and stuff
I find to be a little bit ignorant when people who doesnt know anything about their culture and style complain about it.
Mostly it's just not for them.
Yes but Korea does have a problem with giving preference to fair skin. My Korean friends who are not super fair but still pretty fair compared to me feel so insecure about their skin tone
Maripoy that's also true;;
For me personally i don't really agree with the way it is marketed
@@Mieczyslaw_Mason honest question though... what about people who are pretty tan and don't want a brightening effect? I just remember Seolhyun looking real ghostly at times with foundation that didn't match her at all.
