Kokie brushes at rite aid are so high quality.. also glam squad at either cvs or Walgreens has good.brushes. for sponges, Walgreens has those awesome velvety sponges.

When you started talking about the peace that doing your makeup brings you, I felt that. I got into makeup because it was the only thing that calmed my anxiety, and still does. It gives me something to focus on when I have a million and one things going through my head. Makeup is not just a hobby for me. It's my therapy.

Yess, thank you Tati for mentioning that meditation isn't for everyone. Its one of the number one things that people recommend for anxiety and it doesn't always work and I think some people get very frustrated when it doesn't, but it doesn't mean it has to. You just gotta keep trying to find the one thing that does.
Something where you have to focus on something like a yoga pose or skateboarding helps, so it makes sense concentrating on doing makeup helps too

Yeah but many people think it is so they try the whole sit there and pay attn to thoughts method etc
It is actually something you have to practice. People think it comes easy for those who medidate, but it is quite the opposite for many. It took me months to do it correctly, to clear my brain, to hush the anxiety ridden thoughts, just like Tati mentioned. But that is the point. You are training your brain. Think of it like a deep clean for your brain. But alas, just might not be for everyone ๐
I have a bachelor's degree in psychology and I never once learned that meditation is a way to deal with your anxiety. I also have dealt with anxiety myself. It's vital to find out what exactly is the root cause of it and the best way to find that out is by going to therapy. I also recommend an easy and amazing workbook called mind over mood. It's extremely well known in the field of psychology and psychotherapy. And to be honest, what helped me the most, was going go to therapy, working through my issues by digging into my past and my hurts, finding ways to cope with my anxiety while I was getting better, and God. He gave me peace in the darkness that is anxiety. I pray that everyone who has this awful mental disability, will have peace in your life. ๐๐ผ

I really would love to see a real-time tutorial. Just how long it really takes to do a make-up look and in-depth explanations of what youโre doing and why. Maybe combine with a q&a?
The way you feel about the way makeup relaxes you is exactly how I feel about it and nobody in my world understands and makes me feel crazy and obsessive about it. It's absolutely therapeutic for me and it's nice and comforting to know that someone else out there feels the way I do about it.

tati when i started watching your vids four years ago, i decided to purchase my first vanity as opposed to bathroom mirror makeup. since then, itโs my meditative moment. doing my makeup before my hard serving job helps me tune out my anxiety about the coming day. itโs changed my life, and i donโt care if anyone thinks itโs vain! itโs my zen!

Iโm 10 weeks pregnant and have the worst insomnia each night. It is such a treat to be taken on a Tati journey each night when I wake up. You immediately calm me back down and lift my spirits. AND I have zero issues with the mirror lol.

Same!! I'm 39 (40 in November) and I cannot wear concealer anymore! It just looks horrendous on me! I use foundation all the way up under my eyes and it's the only thing that looks semi natural. I'm lucky to not have dark circles or wrinkles yet but still it sucks not being able to use all of the beautiful concealers on the market now!

Makeup has been my art therapy for over a year now. It has easier set up and clean up then any type of paint, which was what I was doing. Makeup is a type of art!!!

Tati, i like it better when you explain the different shadows and steps you use to do your eyeshadow look. It has helped me as a beginner know how to shape my eyes and how to use different colors in different areas to accent certain things. I have hooded eyes and its so helpful when you explain everything out.
