I love watching Tati handle hair tools because I think she represents a normal person. If she struggles with a device; I know I would too.
I may struggle with it as well. But I don't have the expectation that I'll have it down in a snap. I'll probably have it down like a pro in a months use. I just hope it'll last long, because once I know how to use it, I'll be using it A LOT!!

she is overdramatic and it always seems like she does it wrong on purpose. Any device has a learning curve, even curling your hair with a "normal" curling wand. She needs to give stuff a fair shot.

i feel the same way, BUT i think the slant or like curve in their iron allows for people that canโt grip it well enough, while you twist it to get the curl, to be able to maneuver better. i struggled for some time trying to get the motions along with the gripping down & i think they kinda took most of the work out of it. plus it seems like theres no need to like touch the top of the iron to twist & grip either. idk iโve never tried the TYME so im just guessing. ๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ but i see both sides. some people seriously struggle w the flat iron method lol

She didn't mean that "it's not working " she stated that if it's your first time you might have a hard time doing it. I know how to do it to my right side but never learned how to do it to the left one. She's not perfect and she doesn't have to be perfect in everything. Maybe this is not her thing.

Yes call them!!! Iโve had Iโve had them FaceTime me 3 times cause itโs confusing sometimes. You give them an email and then thatโs convenient for you and they stay on the phone till you are ready. They are so nice! So worth the money

Hey Tati! We are so excited you got to try the TYME iron out! You're SO close to using the correct technique. If you hold the iron with your thumb behind the light (opposite of how you were holding it) and rotate back, the curls would come out totally different. We also designed the TYME iron to be used with minimal tension, your hair should glide through it like a ribbon when using the correct technique! If you want to take a StyleTYME session it will take about 10 minutes! We provide this for free to all of our customers, as we know there can be a learning curve. But once you get it, there's no going back ๐P.S. We always joke about the heat sleeve looking like a condom too, and it'll save you from some heated situations! ๐

cupcakexlindsay the instruction video literally shows an example of a vertical section of hair. Vertical is top to bottom, and horizontal is side to side.

My Lange Aplatir (sp?) I got when it was on sale for $20 does this with much, much less of a learning curve. (I had never used a flat iron, so I had that learning curve ๐)
For the price (!) and the obvious difficulty, very hard pass.
I just got one of these. I have tried to use it twice. Right side comes out great, left side not so much. Honestly, I was glad to see that I wasnt the only one struggling to use this. I dont want to feel defeated by a hair device so I am gonna keep trying. Thanks for sharing. ๐

Sarah Holliday I love this iron. I use this on my air dried kinky hair. I just curl it and it straightens as it curls. The plates make my hair so shiny and the waves last for days!!!

Gosh, I really love you and your Chanel Tati, it's just so relaxing to watch! No matter what I'm doing or what mood I'm in it's always fun and nice to watch your videos!
This is my GO-TO curling iron!!! It took me a few hours trying to figure it out and following a few youtube videos. The one I liked the best was the one that they talked about "revving the motorcycle" on how to properly hold the Tyme. It is an AMAZING product but a big learning curve that comes with it. This is also the only product that allows my curls to stay for days. Most wands, curlers, flat irons that I use to curl my hair, the hair is flat by the end of the day. I can sleep on the curls that Tyme gives me and wake up the next day with even better curls!!

I ADORE my Tyme iron and have been using it for over a year. I'm hopelessly devoted to it but there is a big learning curve and the placement of your hand and the ane you hold the iron determine the style of curl you get so it takes some practice and watching some good tutorials

Tati! I do the same exact curls with my regular straightener with the same motion! You should definitely try this out because I think this whole curve made it more complicated for you to master. Love you and I hope this advise helps!

I have it! And โค it..you need to vertical strands, use curved part to curl, and glide thru towards the mirror! Takes some practice but curls come out so beautiful and voluminous

I was hoping someone would point this out! Been using my (inexpensive) flat irons to curl my hair for years! I find it super easy, and for anyone who doesn't know, you don't need to have a curved edged to make the curl!

Mezmerized4Life Jay cheap curling irons do not get hot enough for my hair to keep my hair curled. My curls unravel within less than an hour with them. I had some lady who did hair at my house for prom. She used my cheap curling iron. The curls were unraveled a half hour later.

I am also working thru this tool. Tip I found fir curls on the side you have trouble withโฆ be sure the rounded lip guide side is facing your head when curling.
