My issue with 90% of clean products is the presence of essential oils. I get a rash every time I use anything with essential oils in it, especially on my face.
I believe it is the low quality oils, that causes that for you. I have been using only basic and essential oils (of high quality ingredients) on my face for 10 years, nothing else and my skin has never been better. So I don't use products with essential oils in it, but rather just the oils.
@M2408 the brand of oil doesn't seem to make a difference. I have super sensitive skin and pretty much all Fragrance and essential oils will give me a rash regardless of the brand.
@@Slmonroe22011 Okay, I understand. Maybe you can try just jojoba oil for skincare, for example? It tends to balance your skin out.
Same! Eucalyptus oil destroys my face. I canโt use the First Aid Beauty Repair Cream because of it. My face swelled up, turned red, scabbed over, and then peeled.
I don't think this "clean" makeup means anything anymore, it just seems to be overly protective and causes fear of every single thing, from furniture to water to foundation, I feel like at this point it's making me feel scared of EVERYTHING
THIS! I refuse to buy into the mass hysteria caused by the clean movement. Thereโs being mindful, then thereโs being ridiculous. Some synthetic ingredients are good, and some natural ingredients are bad. Itโs all so personal about what works for you

Same!! Like with food too. Some is considered "healthy" and then it's considered "unhealthy". I just don't follow that crap anymore.
If I am concerned over an ingredient I usually do a check on Paula Begounโs skin care ingredient dictionary. As a side note I just try to remember a lot of stuff would have to be used at 100% for many decades before it is a issue.
โCleanโ never meant anything. Itโs marketing using peopleโs fears.
If something is fragranced with "essential oils" it's not hypoallergenic.

I feel like Rare beauty is the only celebrity brand that I feel the enthusiasm. I always see Selena talking about it and being passionate about what her brand stands for. I stan
honestly when rare dropped i could tell there was thought behind it but with rem i cant who figure out who the target audience is. not to mention she doesnโt even promote it half the time

If there was real, well-studied evidence the FDA, EU, Australia etc would pull these products off the shelves. Look at the statements from the American cancer society, Canadian and Australian cancer societies. They say there is no evidence for these fears
Agreed. And our bodies are built to build up immunity to those toxic things. Albeit some bodies are more susceptible to toxins, while others have no issue with them. So โcleanโ isnโt necessary for everyone.
That's not true. I live a decently non toxic life. It's possible to buy products that aren't killing us.

Parasites are really common- other countries detox from them regularly, and yet the West only thinks deworming is for pets. But pretty much everyone has parasites right this moment.
Tati, the term โcleanโ has no boundaries or restrictions. There is no clear definition which is why itโs strictly a marketing tactic. Until the term โcleanโ is actually regulated and monitored youโre still gonna find questionable ingredients in clean products. But I admire your transparency and how openly you talk about these things!
Who's gonna regulated the FDA??! THEY STILL ALLOW FOOD COLORING AND DISGUSTING INGREIDENTS IN CHILDREN'S FOOD, so I'd rather base myself on "unfinished" research and be cautious ๐
Rare beauty has the best enthusiasm in my opinion! Selena is always supporting and their products for the most part are Amazing!
Agreed. She definitely puts the work in with at least promoting her brand. It definitely builds confidence in the products when you're seeing the name behind the brand consistently wearing their own products.

Okay here is a series you could do, makeup from around the world!! What if you did a video exclusively on uk brands of makeup, then Australian, Mexican, French and you can do the makeup your way, but how interesting would it be if you got to try a full face of makeup from different countries??? That would be so cool and you might find hidden gems that you didn't know about!! Just an idea

I've watched Tati for years, and I mean a very long time, back when she'd go couponing at drug stores and whatnot. I've obviously always loved her product reviews, especially in regards to makeup (but gal I will never be purchasing a Natasha Denona eyeshadow pallet). That being said, girl its nearly 2023, we've got actual dermatologists reviewing skincare on youtube now with really in-depth analysis of ingredients. Hearing "clean," "toxic," "endocrine disrupting" is so shocking coming from a reputable guru like her. Aren't we past the fear-mongering? We all know the EWG is marketing propaganda and misrepresents studies and science. I get that she's been on the "clean" train for a long time but a lot of people don't buy it anymore and the "clean" labels mean less and less every year. Hearing that somethings got essential oils isn't a positive, nor is hearing that its "paraben-free." Its a very 2015 way of thinking about skincare.
The problem with "clean beauty", it isn't. It's just a marketing gimmick. There are no guidelines for it.

She wears make up very often and she is after those quality and safe ingredients. Even at the start of the video she kinda questions the concept with " what does clean even mean?" , I dont think she really belabored the point that much here to be fair.

The fear mongering about aluminum-containing antiperspirant is in no way based in peer-reviewed science. Use what you like, but staying away from aluminum for any reason other than an allergy is not necessary or justified in any scientific way.

@@sofixmasnahxd correct, but 1. Not causally linked. There is no evidence that aluminum is in any way the cause of Alzheimer's, just that there are high amounts of aluminum in the brain. 2. There is zero evidence that reducing exposure to aluminum reduces your risk for developing Alzheimer's. Therefore, cutting out aluminum salts in antiperspirants to prevent Alzheimer's has no scientific basis, just speculation.
As a girl with freckles, I use tinted moisturizer with concealer instead of high coverage foundation so I still look like myself
I also mix my sunblock with concealer when I want to have less coverage than a foundation.
Tinted moisturizers are great for people like my self who are not full coverage queens and don't wear a full face of make up every day. I love make because it's so beautiful but I can feel it on my face, even the ones that tati has expressed "it's like you're wearing nothing, it's so light you can't feel it". For those who don't wear make up often when the slight bit of color is like night and day for us. And we do see the extra added color in the tint. I get low key make up isn't for everyone. But neither is full coverage. Neither is bad or better. It's just on the individuals preference.

I love tinted moisturizer when I donโt want to wear any makeup but donโt want to look like a zombie either..lol
Iโm a pro makeup artist and I take bbโs and ccโs and dilute them with moisturizers .. Iโve never like feeling makeup other than lip products ๐
Totally get what youโre saying, I used to wear full make up like Tati everyday but since pandemic & working from home a lot of us became more focused on skincare & a tinted moisturiser. I tried a foundation the other day & ended up washing it off 2 hours later because I could feel it ๐
100%! I love tinted moisturizers. I was way into the shiseido, but then it became impossible to find. Been trying Nars and like that too. I want to try Erborian because itโs huge in Europe, so thatโll be my next one.
The best celebrity beauty brands imo are Fenty beauty and Rare beauty. Iโm still testing JLo beauty & not sure how I feel about it yet.
I totally agree. I donโt have much temptation to try other but I love rare beauty blushes and the fenty contour sticks. I always get complements in them

Tati, Moira makes really good glitter shadows! Beautiful! My favorite is the Starshadow shadow pot in Muse. Theyโre cream blush is nice too.
Tati- i would love to see a video on covering grey's and the best products you have/use for inbetween salon appointments. I have been using the Tarte hair touchup and its actually great but i've neaver seen or heard anyone use it before
Once again, what is "clean beauty" if it has no definition? I highly highly recommend to listen to board certified dermatologists. Nothing against people buying whatever they want, but I'm against demonization of "unnatural" products and ingredients, including most of parabens. The most passion I saw is from Selena Gomez and her brand when it comes to celebrities. I haven't tried anything, but she is actually very involved.
@MelisaOnce as I noticed it's more than that. Of course it's a personal choice and I respect it. I'm just always worried about people with big platforms talking about something without specifying. I'm all for fragrance free products, everything in my skincare is fragrance free. But I wish for more transparency both from brands and from influencers when they speak about "clean" beauty. What does that mean? That's my only wish :)
@MelisaOnce Tati is still perpetuating the idea that there are โtoxicโ ingredients and endocrine disruptors in some of these products which is just not the case. Good example is with parabens. They are some of the best preservatives and are well tolerated by the skin. Nothing โunsafeโ about most of the ingredients that are mentioned. I loveeee Tati and her content and have been watching for years. Just donโt love seeing misinformation being spread

Totally agree. Particularly from a European stand point, โcleanโ beauty is nothing more than marketing at best and scaremongering BS at worst.
I am a beauty advisor at Sephora and a lot of the natural products do smell bad, because they don't have the high preservatives and high fragrances in them. They are still amazing products even though they aren't the best smelling. Like the bio Essence face cream, amazing moisturization, but there is a gross smell underneath. I still use it.
omg i work at ulta and itโs such a pain explaining this to people. like if you want clean your not gonna get an amazing smell. that goes against the clean label
@Isabel Anne - I'm so glad you said that about the Bio Essence face cream. I thought mine had gone bad. It is terrible but goes away quickly once applied.
I use mad hippie's cream cleanser and same! Not the best smelling, but the difference in my skin is CRAZY!
That's my favorite moisturizer ever and the smell doesn't bother me but when I looked up reviews everyone said it smelled like feet and spoiled milk.
Yes! A lot of consumers don't realize that fragrance and certain preservatives are added in to mask the scent of certain ingredients. The Biossance moisturizer smells like foot. Lol. When you look at the list of ingredients there are little to no fragrances. I love it because my sensitive face doesn't react negatively to it. I love reading the reviews and the scent is the first negative. Umm ding dongs this is what happens when you want "clean" beauty. You're gonna get a "natural" smell when the fragrance isn't there to mask the smell of something like omega oils. Lol.

I agree with you about what is organic makeup. I know that in Europe a lot of the ingredients that are used in our products are banned there, so there's that. I want to test makeup from there and see if I see a difference. I wish that we still had Max Factor, I remember seeing it as a young teen here and then it was discontinued here, I ended up seeing it in Ukraine and in Austria when I was on vacation a few years back. The majority of problem-causing ingredients are โnaturalโ or โorganicโ because those are less stable and more likely to contain irritating chemical components. Companies are definitely calling products clean for the sake of marketing/greenwashing, but what *is* clean! Because for me, it means the brand and product do no harm to people of planet, both in production and application.
Try the rem highlighters! And the undereye cooling gel is great too!

A dupe for the gwen stefani loose eyeshadow is wet n wild loose highlighter. I'm not sure if it's been discontinued or not but I use it as a shadow or highlighter. It's pretty intense so you have to be careful.
The REM liquid shadows are a little tricky to work with but the potted gel shadows and the matte lipsticks are really good. But yeah, if you blend the liquid shadows too much, they disappear.

I like the idea of trying to buy things with better ingredients and stuff but I feel like EVERYTHING has SOMETHING wrong with it and at this point....... meh. I can't be bothered to research every last product ๐ as long as it works. But I do think trying to be more environmentally conscious is very important so I'm trying to do that. Anyways, always appreciate the fails and wins as usual!

Sheโs great. Sheโs got a nice balanced view on things and admits when sheโs wrong. She doesnโt mince words and sheโs super engaging. I love that she used to work in marketing, too, so she knows all the language, imagery, etc brands will use to sell their products. I also appreciate her balanced view on Tati and this new โclean journeyโ Tati is on, especially since Kackie went on a very similar journey and is on the other side with a LOT of interesting insight.

I'm not sure I can stand the clean, natural, fragrance is the devil mind set in every video. Prob going to stop watching and I'm sad about it.
I am so bored to hear "clean, clean, clean" no longer normal reviews, now the theme is "clean". Just to know, as you want to get educate, for people with dermatitis like me it's a no no to wear wool for example as well as using essential oils anywhere on my body. I must wear cotton and synthetics only.
Tati I agree about the Toups deodorant!! It literally felt like I was ripping off my skin and then it pulled so so so bad and the smell stained my clothes but it wasnโt a great smell ( lemon grass mint). Love their other stuff except the foundation and primer didnโt work for me. Iโd love to hear your thoughts on the makeup. As always loved the video. God bless.

Short haired gal - the scrunchie method works amazing for me for overnight curls. I have to do a fair number of little buns but itโs awesome. And I just have to use regular scrunchies (I prefer 2 sizes, one fluffier and bigger one smaller). It was all of $10 for the two packs of 12.
I can vouch for the heritage rose lotion - I use it and it smells just like the spray- itโs on the lighter side not enough for dryer skin - so sorry if you have a bad one! I also love their Aura Glow body oil

I love the smell of roses but I hate it when it's in my lip products. I agree it makes the taste very funky.
A fluffy frothy blurred lip from NYX is meant to either blurt out at the lines for an artistic aesthetic, or itโs actually very easy to blend in with a lip liner. I got one in rosy red which is like a deep Christmas red and itโs absolutely beautiful, But there are days when the blurred look just doesnโt really do it for me. Thatโs when I pull out a lip liner. I love the smell actually and itโs not drying on my lips I can put a lip balm over it and it stays pretty nice throughout the day. I wouldnโt call it a true liquid lip though, not like the dry dry dry liquid lip.

Man those danessa myricks chrome flakes broke my heart lol it was way expensive for my budget but I was so excited and bought one anyways and no matter what I did it looked horrible and crusty like you said. I tried and tried. I've been letting it sit in my drawer cause I didn't have the heart to throw all that money away. I tried to give it to one of my artistic daughters and she hated it so I finally threw it away a couple days ago and I felt so so so so sad about that lol That product was probably my biggest makeup product fail ever. Absolute garbage and that's unfortunate.
THE BEST heatless curl Iโve ever had has been the octocurl! For sure watch a few videos before using but itโs honestly a lifesaver. Iโm a hairdresser and I have to have my hair done every day and this has been amazing for me to use instead of heat! Iโve even had some of my clients buy it and they love it too! Give it a try!!

The metal balls pop off once frozen bc when metals decrease in temperature they also decrease in size. Thermal contraction. So by freezing the metal spheres only, they are now too small to stay in place.

Hi Tati. Have you tried the Biossance Squalane and Rose vegan lip balm? I am not a rose fan either, but it does not have a 'taste' and tbe squalane helps to keep my super dry lips hydrated, especially in a NE winter.
I love that balm
R.E.M. liquid matte shadow is about the only product I love from her line. It works better than most shadow primers on the market.

I would love for you to do a series on gluten free lip products for those of us with Celiac disease. I have to scour the websites and read the ingredients and it's so unclear what's gluten free and what's not. Thanks for all your videos. This year has been your best year and I feel like your most authentic. Keep up the good work!
I have celiac and I use regular lip products with no problem. Have you gotten sick or had a reaction from lipstick?!
@@kellyfisher5297 I have a skin condition called dermatitis herpeteformis which is associated with Celiac. It's hive like bumps on elbows and face. It's a reaction to gluten. So I'm trying to narrow down where it could be coming from since I stick to a strict gluten free diet. Not all lipsticks and glosses are gluten free apparently.

Yes totally agree with you on celebrity lines, most of them are just trying to make more income without really putting the work, Wich is why Jlo's makeup line was a bust, and Adriana's perfumes and makeup line and Gwen's line are going to fail it feels and looks as if their just putting things out there that already exist just with their name on them ๐
REM Beauty powder eyeshadow palettes are beautiful. The texture is smooth and soft. The color goes on even, beautiful, and blends amazingly. You should give it a try.

I have the Heritage Rosewater Moisturizer and it smells like the toner. I think you got one that has gone bad. I don't LOVE it but mainly because I think it's a bit light for my skin but may be great for someone with a not so dry/aged skin type.
I love the Rita Hazaan spray!! I just cover my face area if Iโm spraying the front. ๐
