On today's episode of Car Trek, AutoTempest challenged the guys to test their used exotic cars' power levels in a dyno test. Tyler's Ferrari 360 may have the least amount of power, but he has a secret that may give him the edge. Freddy's Aston Martin V12 Vantage S is the big dog power-wise, but that also means it has the most power to lose, and Ed's Lamborghini Gallardo is on its last legs. These cars may be cheaper than a C8 Corvette, but will they survive these runs?

@@motondska Idk man. In Holland, Dyno's read out factory-HP numbers. Here Dyno's account for drive-train losses. They measure the drive-train loss in the way OEMs do. All cars have different drive-train losses. This can be delta-difference of 1-5% in drive-train losses which is a HUGE delta for up to about 15-year-old cars.

Just went back and watched this again. Here's another example of how these guys have Top Gear beat. 4:00 Freddie explains drive train loss.
When TG tested old cars to compare horsepower to original specs, they made NO distinction between wheel HP and BHP. So naturally their losses were VASTLY inflated. I remember nearly yelling at the TV "You idiots!" 🤣
