Today I detail everything going on with my JDM icons in the Japanese section of my garage. My 1999 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4, and my 1995 Toyota Supra, both of which are amazing, and both of which are various levels of broken.

Ive had to replace the starter, alternator, Spark plugs and Msd spark plug wires,Valve cover Gaskets/tube seals, Pcv valve, Every rubber hose that ran across from the valve covers and to the intake, fuel filter, throttle body gasket and intake plenum gasket and thats about all i can remember from the past 3 years. And most of these parts werent actually bad but while i changed my spark plugs i decided to just do everything lol since i had the intake plenum off. I did over 175 mph with my VR4 on a public highway, some casual racing and crushing V8 American Muscle from time to time. This car is very unique, the way it gets off the line and rolls out is just fantastic, also very stable at speed. Mine has about 450-480 to the wheels. Full exhaust, intake, Y pipe, digital boost controller, all braided lines throughout including brakes. During its heyday it could roll into 21+ pounds of boost, what a blast. So many features on this car are just mind blowing for the time it was released. The 93 is really great from what I have been told since it has a forged crank. Cheers Tavarish and I will always appreciate that you love this car since I have been in the same boat since I was about 11 years old. Also no joke this is a rare car for any year.

Also the whole car is about elliptical, curvy shapes and the wheels also very well go withat. With these wheels the whole car feels exquisitely cohesive and neat. If you decide to change it, i would go with a similar color and finish.

I had always wanted one of those, but alas, there are not many left in NZ in reasonable condition.
Then one sunny day, back in 2002, a lady I know drove into our drive to see a friend, she had a 1995 Passion red FTO GPX MIVEC.
I looked at it and fell in love. 200Hp V6 Quad cam engine shoehorned in to a car weighing only 1300 kgs. with only 64000 kms on the clock.
I purchased it the very next day, as it was going to be repossessed by the finance company.
Any way, I still have my little Mitzi 18 years later, she has never broken down. I do all my own work on her and , many original parts, filters etc are available from Mitzi motors NZ. As everything is so tightly put together it is awful to work on the engine, but even if I have shed plenty of blood and tears , I love her dearly.
She needs a paint job now because of the UV rays here, but that will come.
And she still has only 163000 kms on her, as she is only used at weekends and holidays.
Without any doubt this is the best car I have owned, and I'm 65 now and still get a kick from driving her.
She will probably out last me. lol

I know that Feeling Bro. I know it.
My B7 A4 was specced exactly like i wanted it.
      25 Years Anyversary Special Edition
dark cherry red Perl effect colour
      Quattro
      Manual
      Full Cognac coloured Leather
      Bi Xenon with Cornering lights
      Sun roof and what not.
I got it, serviced it, cleaned it, polished it and nearly cried seeing it in my garage cuz after 1 year of searching i found one EXACTLY Like i Always wanted it. But it was on the other side of my country, so i drove 8 hours to pick it up.
After 4 months of owning it, i Had to get it inspected and it was in horrible condition. I repaired it all and spent another 2 grand. Thought i could from now on drive it without any issues.
Oh Well. The timing chain snapped on a cold start without any prior symphtoms. Soooo i spent another 3,5 grand to install the new engine.
So all in all my dream car was nearly double the price from what i bought it for.
And i didn't put iALLLL the small parts and trims for the interieur and exterieur in Account. Like a new grille, new shifter, Steering wheel, new knobs in the interieur, new wheels and rims and all the rust removals etc., including new front axels, new Suspension in front, new shocks Front and rear, new brakes and rotors Front and rear, new Clutch, dual Mass flywheel, AND a new engine.
Yea. Sucks. I know. But i bought a small VW Polo to get me around while my Baby was sitting in the garage while i saved Up for parts and Accessoires.

You have no idea lol. I bought my 94 veilside vr4 for 5k, nice car, cartwheel it into a ditch, put the entire car into a new chassis, spent 10k rebuilding, spun a rod bearing a year later. Bought a ridiculous new block for it rated for 1800hp and currently saving (where I can between a house and my wife and all the other cars) $20k to put into it to make it perfect. Technically I am the previous owner that clapped it out 😂 I was in high school then. I know far far more now

Air Ride suspension, Concave wheels, Continental DWS06 Plus or Bridgestone Potenza from the STO. The one thing about any 3000GT AWD is when you launch or drive fast the front end lifts. I'd go with a heavier wheel and tire combo to help midigate traction loss. Add air suspension since it's a 3000GT and it would have that in modern day plus it'd be heavier and more comfortable to ride plus it'd excellent content.
Making the car stick to the road better. I'd set the car up like a E63 or M5. I'd replace the shifter bushing with brass. I'd also gut the interior to do rust protection and I'd check all the drain plugs. Also every 3000GT has critters so you may want to go hunting.
I'd swap out the solid motor mounts. Add a strut brace front and rear to take out a little slop but nothing too stiff, it's still a GT car.
I'd go in on the AC. It has a good system but I'd definitely make sure it pumps ice ice cold.
Be sure to grease the plastics because, they will bend and crack in the sun, specifically the dash.
Crazy thing I'd add is thermal imaging linked to a window mounted screen with radar.
I'd honestly go single din stereo with a tray and retractable touchscreen navigation. Why because, a double din unit sits too low and is harder to use where the shifter is mounted. A single din would allow him to rest his wrist on the shifter to use the touch screen better, plus it looks more 90s.
I'd add ceramic tint for better heat and UV shielding.
I'd add mirror sensors and parking sensors front and rear.
In all honesty I'd replace the steering wheel and seats, add a roll cage and remove the rear seats but that's overkill.
Lastly I'd add an undercarriage plate to help with aero dynamics and better down force without adding drag.
