Same here! Although Italian car projects are fun to watch, in most cases they're irrelevant when we know chances of having those kinds of cars is slim for many YT viewers. SL55 is more accessible and more affordable and mod videos on YT isn't overdone like say Supra.

How about you actually FIX some of your cars instead of yet another vlog where you just talk ( dream) about working on them. Its clear you need to just do an advice channel like Scotty Kilmer because you clearly are incapable of "wrenching every day like Goozquad, Samcrac, Emelia Hartford, or DIY Garage etc. Stick to running your mouth about pointless statistics and facts thats your real specialty!!
4:14 that's an easy fix, remove the switches and clean the built up rust under it. I had a similar problem in my E class. Water tends to get easily accumulate under the switches

"Schraubenschlüssel jeden tag" im dying. For everyone wondering Schraubenschlüssel is the translation für THE wrench not TO wrench. It literally translated means "Screw-key". Correct german translation for wrench every day would be Schraub jeden tag or Jeden Tag schrauben.

It sounds just normal. I have a new pump in mine SL55. And the pump is build toghether with the ABC system. It should sound like this when you start the engine. So, just normal!

Exactly the same on my SL55. Concerned me too when I started looking at these cars.

A lot of German V8s sound like this on cold start up.

I think its possibly with Sam Crac, I saw a Soarer in the background of one of his videos and someone on Instagram spotted one under a cover on one of the new Bendpak lifts.
This sounds really strange but I was looking online and the window issue might need a software update from Mercedes.
Modern cars are weird. Instead of the button closing the connection and running the moter you press it and it tells a brain box in the car to run the moter. Its built in obsolescence. Like my dads gauge cluster in his 04 explorer sport trac when you remove the gauge cluster the alternator doesnt charge. Companies dont want tge cars to last too long or you wont need to buy a new one.
It’s a Mercedes nothing is simple, I found this the hard way believe me

I'm currently rebuilding my entire engine on my CLS55 AMG, so you working on the SL55 is such an awesome video for me!
I’ve had a 2003 SL500 before and it constantly had issues- hydrolics, batteries, top issues, vacuum lines, etc. I worked on it all the time and got fed up with it and sold it. I recently picked up a super clean one owner 2007 E550 with essentially the same engine but this thing is super clean. Ive just added quad tips, rear diffuser, carbon fiber spoiler, and front carbon fiber lip. I’m an next installing carbon fiber side skirts. Also took your advice and installed the Seicane stereo with Apple CarPlay to bring it up to today’s generation. The car is super awesome. My daily driver is my company leased Maserati Ghibli and ive put 35k miles on it in 2 years and so far it has needed 2 oil changes, brakes and tires. I love it. It goes back at the end of the year and I am buying my gift to myself an Audi R8 for my 50th this year!! Your channel is an inspiration and I try to watch your content weekly during workouts! Keep Wrenching!!

I actually only found this channel because I was looking for videos of manual transmission swaps and saw your SL55 video. Incidentally, it's also how I discovered B is for Build (The Mustang vs G35 build off) but didn't actually watch a video until his BRZ 2JZ swap. That was like 3 years ago now. I think you still had around 250k subs back then and were building out of your garage. Much has changed for both of you guys. I look forward to the new collab

Sick manual is how they should’ve come from the factory
After watching your video for the coilovers in your SL I did the conversion also. I just removed the whole ABC module from under the dash and it only gives a soft warning that you can cycle away, no angry red ABC failure light
Finally the SL55 MANUAL SWAP! I found your channel when I used to own a CLS55, a CLS55 Manual swapped is now my dream car.

I have an SL500 (2004). Couple of things that might help you. The front battery only does the start and ignition, it’s rare to have a problem. It eats the rear battery so I have an external charge point. It goes through a fuse in case somebody thinks it funny to short it out.
It’s a problem with a lot of mercs that the pumps fail. This is mainly due to water in the boot. Drill a few 1/8 holes under the pump to stop any moisture build up.
Super stoked you're getting around to the SL manual swap.. I seriously think about it almost every time I watch your videos

I changed my LAST Mercedes battery a while ago on my GL350 BT. Its under the passenger seat, never, never again. Love to see work on the MB's
