Kevin is great, his stories are so solid and then he hits you with the punchline. Classic.
Absolutely. The specificity too. Having watched and enjoyed Kevin since he was at the Update desk I should have seen it coming but I imagine that was the point. After generalising saying "4 months, 5 months etc" he threw me with "December 17, 2018...still-alive". Even Conan lost it on that one. The joke hit it's peak. It was solid the rest of the way you think it's winding then he hits you with him hitting the guy. Of course he's still alive after that but it doesn't have a definitive ending so it kind of fizzles slightly at the end. I don't know when this became a critique of the joke. It wasn't supposed to be. I thought it was great. I guess I just wanted to dig in. And it sounds like I'm being tough on him but only he can make 3 minutes about a guy that thinks he's dying and doesn't that funny. Especially since the premise is well trodden. Check the House episode where Wilson tells a dying guy he's not and gets sued. That's extra credit work folks.

It's hard to tell what's real and what's not, but I feel like it's all made up, but maybe he did have a sick friend, but I think the timeline is bogus 😆

I wasn't fooled for a moment, dude's stories are a riot and he's always telling stories. I told myself to not look at the description or anything to not spoil it.

Jesus, the amount of effort and thought this guy puts in his jokes and stories just for a laugh is amazing, every story he tells he perfectly does so in a way that makes you think it's real until the punchline.
and he can tell a joke about every aspects and situations of life. very few comedians can do that.
