It´s top 10 points i seen. Lol. Definetely. DN won it. :) Second set from DN is some of the most incredible tennis ever. BOY when in the zone. He could toy with Federer sometimes even.
That angled shot on the run, my coach specifically taught us that shot. It became one of my favourite shots, and I hit it against someone who kept bragging about his state ranking and he stood there completely stunned for 3 seconds before calling it out (jnr tournaments here were generally umpired by themselves, with a possible exception of finals, so cheating was relatively common. Though they had a tournament referee you could request to stand on court and observe). We were taught it as a topspin crosscourt shot, and I could sometimes land it about 1m or so from the net when I got it right, on full sprint to the side of the court. It's definitely a lost art and just seeing that shot makes me nostalgic and wish I could still play.
It's simply not true that players are hitting less acute angles. It's happening more today than ever. The big 3 era (which has basically come to a close) was responsible for developing the incredible acute angle. Watch the matches today, and you'll see those angles regularly. So along with massive power, which has been around even before Federer, the ability to hit angles has just gotten more mathematical!
I do think that the angle shots are still used on a regular basis, it's just not that televised as often as it used to due to the top 3 ending of their dominance on the courts and on TV coverage.
@@marekwichniarek268 they crushed the opponent army and did not suffer any particular loss. They are pretty good at war actually, and at tennis as well.
@@Steevy84 Hahaha, "pretty good", so tell me what territory they really occupy after 2 years of invasion?? 😂😂😂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂ I agree they're great at tennis, and I really like some of their players who have brains (Medvedev, Rublev).
I would argue that players as just as technical as before. But in order to find angles you need to be inside the court most of the time and change durection. Both are made very difficult by the sheer pace of today's game.
I am not sure. I see angles all the time still today watching ATP tour. Only a few here were special, the rest was nothing different than what is seen a lot. Keep in mind I watch many of the tournaments all the time.
Impressive to dig out footage from 30 years ago. Someone worked hard to put this together.
The way prime gasquet was toying with nadal in that rally 😂😂😂
And lost the match
Gasquet never won a match against Nadal since 1999 how about that 💀💀💀
Murray had his revenge in less than 1 minute 45 seconds.
The Gasquet Nadal rally 😂
You missed Novak's fh cross court against Federer from 2016AO semis.
No one can hit these angles better than fed and novak. Truly the top 2
you have to include that Nadal vs Nalbandian rally in Paris 2007

Oh yeah that one is sick

surprised you didnt include the angle shot Rafa did to Federer at Aussie Open 2012, that was insane as well
That’s the first one that came to mind, along with his forehand angle against Federer at the 2008 Wimbledon final.
Well, if you want him to include most shots then he needs hours of footage of crazy angles just for Federer alone.
@soheiladam7510 nah not most shots, but that one he did against Fed in AO 2012 was iconic
Thank you so much for an amazing video. 😍
Awesome list - the only one missing that stood out to me was Davydenko’s backhand crosscourt against Del Potro at the WTF in 2009
what was going on in the Safin clip? was he friends with the other player and joking around or what?
just big disrespect I think. Hence the code violation. But to be fair, he did pull the other guy's pants down basically.
My favorite thing in tennis is an angle shot.
great topic!
You should have included Seles, she was good at this.

Serena is notorious for her angles. Better than most men.
5:59 the best obviously 😎🎾🏄🏽 Guga Kuerten The Real GOAT
Nalbandian's one is my ideal
Federer perfected the angle shot.

Nah, the variety of play did decrease over time, less and less talented players.
What is the cultural meaning in Russia of pulling your pants down like Safin did...?🤔😒
That's how they behave when celebrating their pathetic army constant failures and disgrace.
@@marekwichniarek268 they crushed the opponent army and did not suffer any particular loss.

@@Steevy84you serious? Any war they win or lose they have so many of their own die that it’s a huge fail

El verdadero big three, Federer, Safin, Nalbandian. Con perlas de Kyrguios y Guga.
It seems you forgot to mention Marcelo Rios.
just show federer insane angle and you can make one hour long video
Who plays tennis know that It's not a difficult technique, need to use the wrist to create the angle.
1:20 who's the other guy vs Agassi? He looks interesting
Nalbandian, who has the best two handed bh of all time.
why did the dude pull his pants down???
Nalbandian against Agassi.... impossible backhand shot....
Wasnt there a crazy angle by Thiem at like Barcelona?
ooo lala

Wool socks to bed = life changing sleep 🟡⚪
WOW
Too many of them are regular passing shots sorry
Federer clearly the GOAT
Djokovic is
😂😂😂 I see tears in your eyes
No, LeBron.
..... of 40-15
Djokovic is better than fed at all 4 majors and 8 of the 9 masters
Сафин еще так смешно шорты снял😂😂😂😂
First!!!
That's bullcrap bro.. I believe more angle shots are being tried than before. U probably only watch finals

Your clip is absurd, Novak Djokovic does it best and you force Nadal and Federer, a little reality wouldn't hurt!!!
You're clueless, Federer was a master of the angle shots, no one's even close.
