I will admit, I had my doubts about a live action 'Little Mermaid'. Not because of Halle - I honestly thought she'd be perfect for the role even before she was announced, she definitely has the voice for Ariel. And Melissa I thing is going to kill it as Ursula. No, I was more worried about the necessary amounts of CGI that were going to have to be used. I thought it'd wind up being little more than a 3D version of the original akin to the remake they did of Pokemon the First Movie. This trailer, however? It's convinced me. I'm now counting down the days. All support to Halle and Melissa! Can't wait to see how you play it, ladies!

Honestly, Halle makes an incredible Ariel just like Brandy makes an incredible Cinderella. I could only imagine what it would be like if I was in a musical called "The Princess and the Frog" and I played one of my favorite Disney Princesses, Tiana.
Ariel is a ficticious character I'm certain Ms. Bailey will knock the role out of the park! May the LORD Bless her! On another note, Cinderella and The Lion King are the best Disney stories. The villains are crisp as are the good guys. The saddest stories were Dumbo & Bambi.

Oh yeah, I watched the trailer for Ruby Gilman Teenage Kraken yesterday. And I figured that Chelsea was actually The Little Mermaid from that scene in Shrek 2, during the honeymoon scene on the beach where Fiona throws her back into the ocean and then she got eaten by some sharks.. And then from there, she somehow got reborn as a Dreamworks female agonist character.
We need more people who are positive like that instead of being negative with the whole race thing. It doesn’t matter what nationality or skin color she is. As long as she can act, dance and sing that’s all that matters

I loved the part where, everyone starts to realize that the little mermaid (2023) is a great film after the racism and diversity, the quality, and the soundtrack and everyone regrets the moment that they said "I loved the part" sarcastically. We should realize that Disney doesn't want to be lazy and say "oh lets just do a black mermaid and a black fairy" Disney is trying to bring the world closer to each other and not just for humiliation and attention, we d o realize in the past with Aladdin, and The Lion King they spent millions of dollars for those movies, and little mermaid (2023) is also spending millions of dollars, you can't expect Disney to buy billion dollar tech to make the movie so amazing they have to work with what they have on the market and I honestly think this is amazing. If they cared, they would take the time to go to the drawing board and create new characters that are ours from the get go. Ariel will always be known as the redhead white girl, irregardless of this film. It's a multibillion dollar company. If they want to be activists, they can easily hire creators to make unique and exciting Black characters immediately. Will they ever do that? No. Will they ever show romance between two Black people? No. It's very telling that the only time we see Black people in Disney films, they must always be paired up with a white partner as if to make it more palatable.

Ive been a fan since day one cause I know how halle sings. Everything so far is lacking emotion. just technically hitting notes. I'm still going to watch and i bet ill be surprised. this is my favorite movie and it does kind of have everything to do with cast. the part of your workd reprise was super robotic.

Ive been a fan since day one cause I know how halle sings. Everything so far is lacking emotion. just technically hitting notes. I'm still going to watch and i bet ill be surprised. this is my favorite movie and it does kind of have everything to do with cast. the part of your workd reprise was super robotic.
