I was wondering if anyone would know that little bit of trivia. 🤭 Even the one he flashes the picture of, and calls it 'cream'... they were originally grey; I had one that I kept clean right up until 2020.
A "RAW" photo is basically a high quality photo file that is good for editing, not usually used on the internet though because the file sizes are so large
That generally only applies to digital files. Raw files have to be transformed into another file to be viewed and printed.
These are physical prints though, they aren't RAW. It clearly means something different in this context.

I believe this is basically right. I believe the term dates back to the film camera days, but the way it's used now, it's basically a photo that hasn't been touched up and sold as a bonus with various things (like CDs) in the scope of idol stuff.

I am not very versed in the retro gaming collecting universe but I'm sure that was worth A LOT more than 180. Just titles like Breath of Fire, FF V, Mario Kart in box could easily pay it off if they are in good condition.
On the Nogizaka member Yoshida Ayano Christie, she's actually full Japanese with both parents Japanese as well. She has a western name because her family was supposed to move to Hawaii and her parents wanted to name her so people could easily pronounce it.
Relatable, my name has two spellings and my parents went with the more international one because there was a chance I might move abroad in the future. So every foreigner I've met have had no issue but every local person I talk to it's like 50/50 if I need to correct them, unless they ask how it's spelled.
There are quite a few idols with these names, Ise Layla is a member of Angerme and she was named after the Eric Clapton song.

well you do need to remember those are japanese versions not english versions so their values arent as high as their english counter parts, old school japanese versions arent as rare as english versions, but i would say those would probably be worth around 300 - 400 (there were 4 or 5 of them i have no clue how rare they were) but most of the value is cause they were still boxed and seemed almost in perfect condition

Theres quite a fee ways to access the games Joey got. Theres tons of tiny game shops that have old af games you can buy. And if you dont want to buy them, video game companies usually have massive libraries of retro games that employees can borrow for free.

Just a quick overview on what yugioh cards Joey got:
Cyber Style (or Cyber Strike for the TCG) is a structure deck combining the Cyber Dragon and Cyberdark archetypes used by Zane Trusdale in GX. The OCG version of this deck contains Lightning Storm, a super expensive card.
Animation Chronicle 2021 brings a whole bunch of originally anime-only cards to real life.
Selection 10 is a just a booster with a whole bunch of archetypes in it.
Any cards that he got that are valuable?

I literally was about to comment this myself haha. I can't say how many people I have seen that actually think this is a "rare" variant and try to get more from it.
1: The amount of times I ran into listings for Thoroughbred Breeder while looking on eBay for the FDS game Breeder made me very familiar with the shitty boxart.
2: Langrisser is a badass strategy RPG
3: Nobunaga's Ambition is a classic Toei strategy series tracing back to the Famicom and maybe some PC's as well, don't remember.
4: There was never a gold Super Famicom lol. Basically certain formulations of the ABS plastic that makes up the console are susceptible to yellowing due to UV light (or just general age) causing the molecular bonds in the plastic to break down and turn the console yellow. This doesn't happen with most of the Super Famicom's later revisions, called the "1-CHIP" due to an apparent change in formula, but this isn't a consistent fact.
Anyway, that last mystery bag was awesome! Boxed Super Famicom games aren't particularly rare, especially in Japan, but they're great collectibles nonetheless, and their ubiquity is definitely a bonus in my eyes.

If I remember correctly, the Japanese structure deck Joey got was “Cyber strike”, which holds lightning storm, a popular and expensive card in the meta so Joey can actually make his money back if he sold that in the US.
That Lightning storm would be almost worthless anywhere outside of japan/korea/china. Yugioh is split into 2 formats globally (basically Asia/ the rest of the world) and cards from one format can't be played in the other, so while the TCG (Rest of the world) version of lightning storm is worth a lot over here, the OCG (Asia) one is not
Edit: I'm not certain on this but I'm fairly certain that lightning storm is somewhat inexpensive in the OCG, so he wouldn't make that much back selling it there either

@@tomasomiachain2403 u defo can sell foreign cards in na. And u can also use them in organized tourney play as long as u have the translation with u, which a lot of people do.
@@eleonarcrimson858 yes you can sell them to TCG(everyone else) players, but you cannot use an OCG(Asia) printed card in a TCG tournament, even if you have translations on hand.

That's not an alternate color for a SNES. The plastic used by nintendo at the time would yellow super easily when exposed to sunlight. There are a few ways to remedy the yellowing. But it doesn't necessarily weaken the plastic or anything.
I think the Super Famicom needs to be applied with Retrobright. All it needs is the correct procedure and the right timing.

Breath of fire 1-4 was great then they made breath of fire dragon quarter on PS2 which was trash and I'm pretty sure that killed the series, there was also a phone game that had no real relevance to the series, it was trash.

Breath of Fire is Capcom's longish-running RPG series-good stuff, I played the original earlier this year and it's pretty solid.
Nobunaga's Ambtion is a legendary game series going back 38 years-it's what Dynasty warriors spin off of.
That's an insanely good haul! The only Ranma games for the Super NES I was aware of were all fighters. But an RPG!?
Actually Dynasty Warriors is closer to a spinoff of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series, the gameplay is close to the Nobunaga's Ambition series, but set in Three Kingdoms China, rather than Warring States Japan.
IIRC the Ranma RPG on the Snes is rather mediocre, Chougi Ranbu Hen (the 3rd fighting game) is the best Ranma game on the Snes, I belive.
@@BrognusBelgen Nope, the Original Nobunagas Ambition were tactical RPG similar to Fire Emblem, the newer ones are the one that are similar to Dinasty Warriors, but are still way more tactical RPG than Hack and Slash

It's too bad that Chougi Ranbu Hen's domestic version was canceled, as I played the heck out of Hard Battle back in the day.
@@snukastyle Chougi Ranbuhen is solid (for an Anime Snes fighter) if you haven't played it, no translation is needed, since it's a fighting game, so it doesn't really matter.
Yeah, Samurai Warriors is the Hack and Slash to Nobunaga's Ambition, much like ROTK is to Dynastly Warriors, thanks for clearing that up, as It was puzzling.
Kou Shibusawa (The 'Ko' in KOEI) was really big on turn based Strategy games, Not only was Nobunaga's Ambition, Genghis Khan 2, and ROTK:IV all on SNES (Which arguably, are the same game, in different settings.), he made a wierd turn based fantasy game called Gemfire, but the Aerobiz airline management games.
For the Fire Emblem Sytle games, Koei made a Three Kingdoms version called the Eiketsuden series, out of all of them, I'd recommend Legend of Cao Cao, which is a Cao Cao focused game. Previous games had Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang but were less polished. (Also I belive the Eiketsuden series also had Warring States games.)
I find it funny that Koei used to be mainly known for strategy games, but pivoted completely towards hack and slash.

The one your Uncles gave you is the US market shell design although I think they did sell it in Japan also as a later revision, the Lucky bag ones the Original JDM shell.
Oxidisation I've have good results with black head cleansers (paste kind not the mildly viscous liquid) and Toothpaste as they are very mildly abrasive so take care on lettering, Magic erasers are supposed to be good too and between you and Connor saying age related stuff I now feel incredibly ancient.

Was thinking, while you were picking one SNES game after the other out of the bag, that if it was simply labeled as a "retro" bag without mentioning SNES anywhere, someone who didn't have a SNES might've been disappointed with the selection but they solved that in the best possible way. :)

Kamaitachi no Yoru (かまいたちの夜) was the second visual novel from Spike Chunsoft. It was ported a bunch of times, I've heard the GBA version is really good. Also, you're not just reading text, there are choices you have to make. It's like a mystery novel or choose your own adventure.

Dude, I remember the original F-Zero back in the 90s. I love the old retro games, they bring back so many fond memories and MANY angry ones too. Ive been having a ball with how theyve been re-releasing a lot of old retro RPGs remastered and remade with modern graphics like Trials Of Mana and FF7.
Love the fact that Joey has to open yugioh cards that he will never use and still consider them as lucky bags.

Oh wow, you got Der Langrisser that's amazing, the artist is Satoshi urushihara, he's amazing but be aware he has done some "cultured" stuff xD his art style is very 90s if you don't mind that style I recommend checking out some of his artbooks or any manga he has made ^^
I still remember the fail translation patch where the game asked you for your name and regardless of what you input, it was like "Okay, your name is Elwin".
@@akumuryuu There is a really nice translation of Der Langrisser now that came out around 2007. If I remember right the old no life translation didn't let you change the MC name because doing so would cause the ending of the game to glitch out.

Psst the breath of fire series, especially 1-3, are amazing and that was definitely a really cool grab! It's a lot of fun and the characters are all great. My favorite is 3 and I'm pretty sure they're standalone stories like the FF series :D

In my Opinion:
2 had the best story (followed by 4)
3 is the hardest and most mechanically complex (if you somehow get all the mechanics from the get go, then it's much easier and much, much more fun)

I didn't think 3 was too complicated? But maybe that was just me. I think 3 has some of the best pixel art too. It's great all around!
@@ROAD-HORROR In 3 I think the mentor system and ability copy system is annoying. The mentor doesn't really say what stats will be improved per level up which screwed me over because I unknowingly had a mentor with -1 on defense which resulted in enemies 2-shotting me. Compound that with the copy ability which leaves you as a sitting duck and you sometimes die before copying anything. That's why I say if you know the systems, it'll be much much more fun
BoF 4 is especially my favorite, the pixel art is just too damn good.
yeah like others said BoF 4 is good enough that you have to try it if you have time. I started with the 4th so it will always be my fav. with the 3rd instalment close.
The SNES and YGO ones are hands down the most valuable ones. You definitely got more than your money’s worth. I would love to see those on stream one day.
In terms of the Raw photos, I think it’s more so the quality than well… you know… because there are RAW settings on DSLR. That being said, Perfect Blue and the AKB48 scandal destroyed idol culture for me. It’s really toxic to the performers and the fan base.

Gotta love the Breath of Fire series. Played BoF 1 on an emulator in the vacation between 5th and 6th grade, and it was awesome. Just hate the design flaw where if you're in an area near a mountainside, you might accidentally fight the enemies in the area on the other side of the mountain and get killed in one shot.

Getting the Breath Of Fire original game is a super good find. That is one of my favorites rpg's that isn't Final Fantasy. When I played SNES back in the day it was like one of my favorites good story its actually a series I think there are like 6 games the last one was released on the ps2 I believe. I am not sure if they stopped making games or what, but I love it.

NGL when I saw Der langrisser come out of that box two things happened:
One, I leapt out of my chair for some reason like a pop off, even though I never do that
Two, my drive to go to Akihabara just increased tenfold.
Fire emblem's always been more my jam but langrisser is very kickass as well

Hands down, the Super Nintendo lucky bag was the very best. I yelped so loud when Breath of Fire was pulled out. That's one of my favorite SNES games of all time.
I was admiring the haul from that game bag just on the titles, and to pull the console out too?? SCORE! I'd love to find something like that at a con here in the States.

Also The Breath of Fire series is really good. The 2nd one was my introduction to jrpgs.
That last bag had me jealous! Final Fantasy 6 is also my favorite of the older ones as well 😃. Man, a lot of those games I'd love to pop back in to play again.

Dude, Breath of Fire is FIRE!! (literally). Easily one of the most iconic JRPG series back then by Capcom, especially Breath of Fire 4 which i still consider is the best looking classic JRPG, the pixel art and the motion is just too damn good.

Kamaitachi no Yoru, (in english should be Banshee's Last Cry) if I'm not mistaken gets quoted as a main inspiration for the narrative structure design for the first game in the Nonary series (999) during a GDC talk on the franchise

I had a dream holiday to Tokyo planned for May 2020, after years of saving up for it. Was planning to spend several days just exploring Akiba. Of course, the trip was cancelled and still isn't going to happen any time soon. I just hope that with all the big store closures over the past year, it still resembles the classic Akiba by the time I finally get to visit...

17:51 the nobunaga's ambition series is actually still going, the most recent one came out in 2017. they're kinda like total war or paradox games for people who have played those.
they actually made a crossover with pokemon called pokemon conquest back in 2012.
Conquest was probably the best Pokémon Spinoff game that was ever made. Nobunaga's Ambition is such a good series.
